Copper Injured

  • One person was arrested after a Chicago Police officer was hit by a stolen van Thursday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The officer was standing in the 6000 block of South Winchester after pulling over a stolen van about 2:30 p.m. when the van’s driver — a male — rammed it in into a squad car, police said. The van then struck a 26-year-old officer, police said.

The officer, who may have a concussion, is being treated at Little Company of Mary Hospital for a leg injury, police said.

One person was in custody, and police are looking for a second offender, police said.
Get well soon Officer.

Now don't get me wrong I wish the Officer a full and speedy recovery but when I read this sentence I had to laugh out loud.

"The officer, who may have a concussion, is being treated at Little Company of Mary Hospital for a leg injury, police said."

Geeze! What kind of a hospital is this?
It reminds me of the Bill Cosby comedy routine about playing football for Temple University. The game was to be televised and the coaches told the players not to grab their crotches they would be on TV. So when Bill got hurt in the crotch he grabbed his head and they put a bandage on his head.

Maybe the injured officer will read this, laugh and feel better.

Get well soon TS. On a side note. The head nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital where the injured Officer went to be treated told a Sgt. that the days of preferential treatment for police and fire are over. Even going so far as yelling at the injured Officers family. Most of the staff at the hospital was extremely confrontational and wouldn't let other Officers that came to lend their support in to see the injured Officer, telling some to get back on the street and do your job. The head nurse and "security guard" should be fired immediately.

ha ha... when it comes to this stuff working the federal side... the only injuries at my job would be a sore ass from sitting too long, or a muscle injury from stretching during a yaw

Oh boy. OK. Don't call 911 about fights tearing up your ER. Let your own "security guard" handle it.

Just got "depoliced," huh?

If true, Very sad about LCM staff being rude to officers and family while ER's across the city are filled nightly with thugs, their friends, family and even rivals causing the place to be up for grabs.
Was the head nurse wearing her "I can't breathe T Shirt"?

Rude to the friends and family of a hospital patient? (Never mind that any of them aren't or are the police.) Family members should file a complaint with hospital management.

That is not the first time, not going to be the last. Keep throwing money in the collection ate, boy-o. Why the ass-hat, anti-police head of the Catholic Church in Chicago was at the memorial service was a surprise to me. Guess Cline wants to try and dodge Hell.

Try reading the post Says accident happened at 2:30PM. My guess would be there is only one head nurse. Hope this helps

Swedish Covenant tried that a few years back, they changed their tune after some gang vs gang incidents and their unarmed security couldn't control them

OK...

You all know exactly what to do the next time some "young democrats" are doing the fool, tearing up the e/r and chewing the meat off head nurse's ass bone...

They gots "s'curity..."
Let THEM handle the "young democrats" without Police interference...

"Oh c'mon guys! Don't be so sore and hold grudges. This was just a little misunderstanding.

No it ain't...
Head Nurse wouldn't have picked that fight if she wasn't confident that hospital administration would
insulate her from blow-back.

Her conduct was condoned...
Bet good money she showed her ass on multiple prior occasions to Police/Fire/Paramedics and their family.

Watch yourselves in these hospitals...

Remember Bill Cozzi's problems?
They began with him stepping in and giving hospital security a "hand."

Just a reminder about who are and who aren't your friends out there...
