- One person was arrested after a Chicago Police officer was hit by a stolen van Thursday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
The officer was standing in the 6000 block of South Winchester after pulling over a stolen van about 2:30 p.m. when the van’s driver — a male — rammed it in into a squad car, police said. The van then struck a 26-year-old officer, police said.
The officer, who may have a concussion, is being treated at Little Company of Mary Hospital for a leg injury, police said.
One person was in custody, and police are looking for a second offender, police said.
