Boystown Wilding
No serious coverage in the established media outlets, but over an another "insignificant blog:"
- Video has begun to emerge of Saturday morning's looting of the Boystown Circle K convenience store at Halsted and Addison.
As CWB reported exclusively here yesterday, a Chicago police officer who happened upon the scene shortly after 4a.m. reported "100 people looting" the store.
This video, which was first posted on Facebook by Christopher Courtez, shows the initial moments of the incident before police arrived.
This follows on the heels of the a number of high-profile crimes that have actually made headlines, culminating in the cell phone murder referenced in the post just just above this one.
Unfortunately, we think the folks over at the Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog are going to be extra busy this summer.
They've also noted that the statistical manipulation (CompStat) is again in full swing in Tunney's ward, driving down actual crime numbers to make the neighborhood look safer than it actually is - now why would Rahm allow a thing like that? Surely not for political reasons?

Isn't it better that people feel safe in their neighborhoods, rather than being afraid to leave their homes? Even if the neighborhood is not totally safe, you don't want people living in fear.

The CWB folks will have a really busy summer. They'll also be live covering the shitshow for the Gay Pride Parade - they did a great job last year. The complete opposite of what will be reported by "journalists."
We could be like the businesses in the neighborhoods where they are from, get served thri bullet proof glass and restaurants with no seating. Things like this is why the Police will never get body cameras, don't need the facts to be filmed.

The police need to mount a positive response. Lets bring in the mounted unit. Bring on those teams of half man half horse combos. Kind of sends shivers up my spine.

I'd occasionally bring in a few Fridge packs of Diet Coke and Coke and Mt Dew to the desk for everyone to have.

I was at Belmont and Lincoln this afternoon when I heard that familiar loud deep baritone voice yelling at another one just like him. They looked like they were recently looking for handouts around Sacramento and the Eisenhower. Now they are at Belmont and Lincoln making sure everyone heard them. I get that knot in my stomach just hearing and seeing them. Oh dear god they make me sick.
Years ago they wiped out my old neighborhood, Austin. Now they are spreading all over. I never saw an area improve by their presence. You never read, "Oh all the fine black people are moving in, that should be a big boon to the neighborhood, rents and property values will soon go up." "Just love that diversity."

Just A Citizen: There isn't even a safe Petco to go to anymore in the city. The one on Clybourn is frightening, the riff faff and black thugs are EVERYWHERE. The one near the Ohio feeder ramp is also frightening. I have to now drive to the suburbs to feed my pets. I want out of this hellhole SO BADLY but hubby refuses to leave. of course he does, he has a CCW. I"m 59 years old and I do NOT feel safe walking around Streeterville ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME. I don't care how many assholes are running around with their heads in their phones. It's not safe. I don't wear good clothes, I don't wear my wedding ring or any jewelry for that matter.
