The City Council’s Police and Fire Committee is recommending lawyer Lori Lightfoot for president of the Police Board. She once ran the police department’s Office of Professional Standards.
An Office that no longer exists we might add. So if history holds, Lightfoot will drive the Police Board itself out of business within a few years. This might be a good thing.

OT- Was riding down Western Blvd to 26/Cal for court and saw a Chicago Water Department Management pick-up truck. Odd thing was this pick-up had Nebraska license plates on the vehicle (TDE820). Is the city trying to save money on registration plates from another state, while shafting the rest of us TAX PAYING citizens or are they outsourcing city jobs to other states for cheaper labor. Took pictures of the truck with car #WS049R as the vehicle number. What gives?

If any Department member expects they will get a fair hearing at the Police Board now, you are dreaming. This women was a nightmare at OPS and started more problems there then she cleared. Now 9.5 wants her to lead the Police Board? He wants more control of the board since the Superintendent cannot trust his IAD unit or IPRA.
Just look at how many termination cases have been brought to the police board only to be thrown out???? Poor investigations? or Police Board having no balls....
The more figure heads they put in charge the more they lose control. Just ask the former FBI guys that Daley brought in under Weiss. Open door policy until they found out how dirty thing got then they ran into offices and locked doors until the left. Lightfoot did same thing at OPS for Daley. She was so angry she could not even give a direct order to a Department member as the Director of OPS.

Be aware of the current difficulties in some wards that have brand new aldercreatures and going for your (should be already on your vehicle) Pickup Truck/Van Residential Parking Permit. Currently hearing horror stories about people in the 41st Ward having trouble with Anthony and his staff in actually getting them issued.
Also...for all of you part time contractors out there working out of your van or pickup truck on the weekends or after your shift or whatever..
The Pedestrian and Traffic Committee changed the language of 9-64-170 A, B and D again. And they changed the language on the application form you are supposed to be filling out at your respective ward office before you can get the Permit for the pickup or van.

#1, #4 and #5 are the BIG Deals:
If you do #1 and had the permit from last year..you can not get the permit this year, Period. This got rid of the loophole for those Junk Trucks...but it applies to all Commercial Use vehicles due to language and definition.
#4 Specifically notifies all persons that own a vehicle that qualifies under 9-64-170 A that they can NOT park it for Free on any Business Street REGARDLESS of Plate Type. Its that whole "Expeditious Loading and Unloading" clause. No Signage required to enforce 9-64-170B or 9-64-170D. Please be cautious and don't make my job easier than it already is.
#5 is the Hammer. You are certifying by Initials and Signature that all the information you have attested to is True. Under potential penalty of Law, both civil and criminal.
Number 5 is the one I foresee jamming up some City Employee in the very near future if they ever get a 9-64-170A ticket and try to contest it.
The ALO's at the Law Department have this document for reference if someone contests a Truck Ticket. They just sustained 5 tickets on the same Tow Truck for 170D violations despite it being parked in the 2700 block of North California.
The Wards are REQUIRED to make you fill this out. And as city employees we are required to ask about the permit application form because it is Required to be filled out each year.
Now for the Good News (sorry this is long):

This comes up often the city leases vehicles from out of state guess the Chicago high tax dealers don't get the business, kinda like when the city bought CPD vehicles from advantage Chevy in hodgkins il. Cheat Chicago dealers like chumps!

I believe vehicles that end in "R" are rented and that end in "L" are leased- so if rented from an out of state business, would have out of state plates. BUT since its situs is Chicago, did it have a municipal city sticker like our squad cars do? Sounds like a good parker to me.
Begs the question, if we all have to reside here, are there NO rental/leasing companies to do business with in Chicago??? I mean, with all our progressive programs, you would think there is at least one company in the city that could give a competitive bid.
AND, btw, you don't get cheaper than "M" plates -- costs $8 a set for the municipality and never expire. (Except "U" plates which are free for the state)

On the other hand Anthony Napolitano, 41st Ward called it like it is, that the Police are being fucked with across the Country and are sick of the bullshit CR#s. He said Chicago is losing our proud and proactive Police Officers. What a difference up in the 41st Ward from O'Connor!!

Advantage Chevy in hodgkins has a black owner. The city only deals with minority dealers. The dealership also sends the vehicles to the "right" companies for the aftermarket add ons that are required by the city to take care of the "right" people!

This mandated by city council law. All large police departments have some sort of review disciplinary process. Whenever the Supt. of the police department recommends a discharge (fired) or a long suspension then the police board has the final say. They review the complaint and then determine what the punishment should be.
Just google Chicago Police Board cases, you will see clout in action. For the same infraction, one officer will probably be given a 30 day suspension while another is fired.
That's why we gotta get the hell out ta Chiraq!! There running the streets thrue the wall. It hurts me to see such crooked ways in the system. I don't know why we can find ethical people. From Jessi,Ryan, blago act.. we need to find a solution to the problem.
Lori was an AUSA for several years. She was first with Mayer Brown and left to become an AUSA for the trial experience, but mostly to pad her resume. She left the AUSA job to become head of OPS and then on to the mayors office and then back to Mayer Brown to collect the really big bucks. Lori has huge political aspirations.
Lori Lightfoot got the job. She got in trouble as an assistant U.S. Attorney here in Chicago for wrongfully allowing a guy to be extradited from the USA. of course, the lame stream media did not report this.
