Some Still Defend the Police

  • As the first anniversary of the fatal Ferguson, Missouri police encounter approaches, we can expect activists and opportunists to return to the small town and take to their soapboxes to stage protests, disparage law officers, and call for additional limits on the police. Sadly, the anniversary of this watershed moment in policing finds a much degraded image of law enforcement in America, increasingly polarized views on crime and policing, and concerning increases in homicide in cities across the country. While clear-headed opportunities for positive change have been ever-present, conflict and negativity have ruled the discussion

Fueled by negative media reports and an Administration-led political agenda, it is now fashionable to vilify your local police, loudly and often, regardless of the facts. As the trend expands, we will inherit the obvious result - good men and women already doing difficult, often thankless, work opting out of the profession; young prospects taking other paths for their careers; rising crime rates as beleaguered cops retreat from proactive policing.
Go read it all. As some have said, the darkest days may still lie ahead for policing in general and the country in particular.

Great article but lets also not forget the destruction of the police retirement system(pension) by the same politicians that vilify them, which will also drive good people away from the job and demoralize the current ones. It's an all out senseless attack on the police from all fronts with only politicians to blame. Who would want to take such a job today while also knowing the politicians will destroy your retirement too? Sad.

The least they can do to stop the demoralization of the police is honor the agreement to fund the pension. Although it's sad we even have to think about it, It would be a good start. Next they can work on the way we are treated by politicians looking for votes.

This country needs it's fucking head examined. This anarchist agenda pushed by the left is destroying our once proud country. We were once the best, and we have let that slip away. Logic and common sense has gone away. And now police departments across the country have to tolerate the wrath of a public who believes all the garbage and false narratives. They never look at the actions of Michael Brown and the rest of the fools whose own actions caused their death. It seems that every mistake made a citizen is the fault of the police. We are heading toward a country of lawlessness and the public is buying into it hook, line, and sinker. Careful what you wish for America. You're heading down the wrong road.

Pure Defense Political Warfare doesn't work.

1] Expose them for professional terrorists they are, usually Soro's funded.

2] Hit them first with preventive arrests, as happened in Ohio. This decapitated massive planned riots before they happened.

3] Remember they're cowards from top to bottom. They can incite children of all ages to violence but the cadre and leadership are cowards with motives of political gain.

This will get worse and passively enforcing the law once broken won't work. You're in a war since 12/20/14 with the NYPD shootings. You might note public back turning worked well in that case. If your politicians won't back you don't back them and make that plain.

Silent enem leges inter armas.

BLUE LIVES MATTER!

This happened once before in American History when the liberals shunned soldiers returning from war in Vietnam.
Why?
I believe it's because the politicians have no backbone to stand up against the media and leftist activists.

This is the opinion of many who are afraid to express it...

I'm not a PO but I know shitty politics when I see them. The Arlington police chief who fired the rookie cop couldn't be more proof. If this isn't throwing someone under the bus I don't know what is. Even the trainer didn't seem to come to the cops aid and support his actions. Let me tell you, I have kids who are teenagers and I use examples like this to show them stupid choices (the choice to break in an auto dealership for joy riding and damaging cars for fun) can get you killed. That kids family has nobody to blame but the kid himself.

I'm sorry for you guys and gals. I'm sorry for the shit you have to put up with from the public and now FROM YOUR SUPERVISORS. People who should be supporting you! I'm especially sorry for the rookies who can be fired without any recourse like this fellow in Texas.

There ARE folks out here that appreciate the work you do. Don't forget that!

Who demanded this happen and when did it start. I have my theories. Will it stop? Is this what we are all in store for down the road? Whenever the "gang" of paid protesters decide to attack, they will just be allowed to burn down hoods, rob and cause mayhem? Am I allowed to retaliate or am I not the right color?

The author, Ron Hosko, was assigned to the Chicago FBI for a few years in the mid to late 1990s. The CPD Officers that worked with him on the Violent Crimes Task Force will all tell you that he was a stand-up guy then, and he obviously still is. I had the pleasure of working with him as well. He's doing a great job these days on FOX-NEWS as someone who is 100% behind the police officers that are getting beating up each day in the "mainstream media". We need more like him.

"Gentle-Giant-Of-The-Day" Department -- Human battering ram, "Initially Unarmed" hulk charges policeman, gets stopped.

Chief fires Texas officer who killed unarmed 19-year-old

Published August 11, 2015

"ARLINGTON, Texas – A police officer who killed an unarmed college football player during a suspected burglary at a Texas car dealership was fired Monday...officer Brad Miller, 49, could also face criminal charges once police complete their investigation...

Called to the scene of a suspected burglary early Friday morning, Miller pursued 19-year-old Christian Taylor through the broken glass doors of a car dealership showroom...Miller confronted Taylor and ordered him to get down on the ground, Johnson said. Taylor did not comply. Instead, he began "actively advancing toward Officer Miller," Johnson said.

"Miller...had drawn his service weapon and fired it at Taylor...He fired his gun three more times...

"Before his final confrontation with Miller, Taylor allegedly held up a set of car keys and told another officer that he intended to steal a car...He had driven a vehicle through the glass front doors of the showroom and, after officers arrived, was slamming his body into the side of a different part of the building to try to escape...

FBI asked to assist in probe of 19-year-old college football player killed in Texas police shooting

Published August 08, 2015

"Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson said during a news conference Saturday night that he spoke with the FBI's Dallas field office following the shooting of Christian Taylor, an Angelo State University football player.

"Surveillance video released on Saturday showed the moment that Taylor was running around the Arlington, Texas car dealership and jumping on cars in the moments before he was shot and killed...

"Officers arriving at the scene were advised that someone had driven a car onto the lot, started to damage another car, then drove his own vehicle into the glass front of the showroom. Johnson said Saturday night that Taylor appeared to have kicked out the windshield of a car.

"Officers told Taylor to surrender and lie down on the ground, but he refused, the chief said. They saw him then trying to escape the showroom and pursued him.

"According to a police statement, an "altercation" of some kind ensued and Miller shot Taylor...

Some still defend the police...but not the Chicago Tribune. In today's Op-Ed section ("Race, cops and a new deal in Chicago") they keep the cop-bashing going. The writers must have been sleeping during their high school English lesson on irony, because they write:

"...alienating citizens from the police interferes with the cooperation needed to combat crime."

As if the Tribune doesn't actively and purposefully alienate the public from the police.

The best thing for ALL police officers to do is follow the bouncing ball. Do nothing pro-active unless ordered in writing by a Supervisor, who is paid more to make the decisions. If someone wants someone else arrested, obtain the persons info; give to complainant, and let them go to court and obtain a Summons. Lay Low and stay safe, until the political winds shift back away from Democrat/Communist rule of the Country. Make an arrest only when ordered, or if nexessary to stop a citizen or officer from being hurt or killed. Carry the name and badge number of your daily Supervisor, and give it to anyone wanting to complain about you. Demand a copy of your body camera's recording of any incident you are involved in that is questioned, or any incident you feel you are entitled to have video documentation of. Remember it can be used against you in Court, therefore you have a right to it for yourself and your Attorney, and the recording may very well be in violation of your 5th Amendment Rights if you can't control who gets to view it and use it. Remember, this is what the Public wanted and voted twice for, so let them have it, and let the Liberal pinheads fend for themselves. Any Supervisor who denies this, file a complaint immediately. You have Rights under the U.S. Constitution. Use them ALWAYS.

Anyone who defends the police will be persecuted for it. Its not socially accepted or politically correct.
The black lives matter scam is a fire that won't be put out. Its irreversible.
Its perfect for the media. They have a scapegoat for their signal callers every day while pulling the wool over peoples eyes and steering them from the real issues. . Even more perfect is that they know most americans don't have any personal experience or knowledge of the police. They only know the side of the story the media puts out there, but they rarely have any interactions with the cops personally. The media targets the unknown shaping peoples opinions and beliefs when these people know nothing about what happened at the actual events and were not eyewitnesses to the actual events that take place but still have no reason to think otherwise.

I put the blame squarely on the media, which started this whole false narrative of "hands up, don't shoot" which became the mantra of all of these domestic terrorists who riot and destroy every chance they get. The terms "unarmed black teen" and "gentle giant" were both lies. Brown may not have had a weapon but his size and strength made him just as dangerous. I believe he would have killed the officer had he not been shot first. Why that scrawny sidekick, Dorian Wilson, hasn't been charged with perjury is beyond me. He started the lie, and the media ran with it without bothering to find out if it was true. I also believe that if the media didn't show up in Ferguson the protesters wouldn't bother coming out. Whats' the sense of demonstrating if no one's watching?

Regardless of whether it is the media, thugs, thug birthing units (can't call them parents or moms since they do not act like either), politicians (most police chiefs are included) and opportunists, they never liked the cops anyway.

The Birmingham hoodlum didn't want to kill the trooper:

http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/08/suspect_with_violent_past_char.html

The thug wanted to "discipline" the trooper. Show him who was boss. Close his uppity mouth. So he just walked away after "counting coup" on the trooper. He established who was bigger and badder.

And the black community supports the thug in their tweets. They all know who lost face. And they are laughing. Black folks all over the country are laughing.

If this attitude of cops being "just another gang" in the hood that can be taken down a notch spreads much further, all police authority is lost.

And the answer isn't "community outreach" or "feeling their pain" or "encounter groups" that show how "human" and "caring" the cops are. That just reeks of "liberal pussy".

The answer is the mayor, and the city council, and the prosecuting attorney, and the police chief, all together, with one voice, reading the riot act to the ghetto. They back the cops up, get right up in the community's face, and tell them that the shit is going to hit the fan if they don't straighten up and learn some respect. No more mealy-mouthed sucking up to "community leaders". No more firing rookies. No more hand-wringing and backing down when Al Sharpton comes to town.

Either the political leaders grow a pair of balls or things are going to keep sliding until a rock-throwing gang gathers whenever cops stop anybody for anything. And if that happens, god help us all.

I personally know of 8 CPD Officers killed during my career by unarmed black people. One woman, the rest men. Johnny Northside has a few more names, he worked longer than I did. Northside holds the tragic distinction of being on the scene of two double police murders, Severin and Rizzato and Hauser and Kilroy. I believe Northside was first on the scene of Hauser and Kilroy and was their supervising sergeant. Hauser and Kilroy were attacked by an unarmed assailant and both were killed by an officer's gun snatched inside a dark garage. A horrible thing to go through. Twice.

Memo to Gov Rauner: So you campaigned stating that you support the police & firefighters? Well you just signed a bill which mandates a Stop & Frisk receipt. Well Guv-you also clouted your daughter into a CPS High School even though your main residence is in Winnetka. Do you want a proactive police force protecting your kid while in Chicago when she should be at New Trier HS? Well, you probably can solve this problem by assigning her a State Trooper to guard her. Now let's see what you do to our pensions. Yea, Quinnocchio was a liar. And now you are one too.

Time to relegate you to the likes of Aldercreatures & now let's have a Rauner nickname contest in order to complete your true politico image!
Any reader suggestions???

J.N. hit the nail on the head here yesterday when he referred to an "INITIALLY UNARMED" assailant.

Went to the Hauser/Kilroy honors last summer -- saw some good friends there -- feels like just yesterday. Jeez, the world is spinning, huh?

God bless all here. Stay safe.

At the academy, I heard nothing about officer Hauser and Kilroy death during that morning garbage by the flag, hearing the story would teach these guys to watch out... But that would be teaching, academy does teach squat or douch

Go to Freerepublic.com and read the story on the right side of the page about the various communist organizations, their names, and how they're organizing these lawless tirades in Ferguson, Baltimore. The communists/socialists/marxists are in full force, with commie/socialist/marxist oboma's approval and cooperation. We have to crush these cockroaches...it's the 1960s all over again, with the commies out front and causing chaos, all by design.

I live in a pretty liberal area of the City among the goofy young people. Please don't misunderstand most of us. We're not stupid, only liberal and sometimes very drunk.

Many of us realize that the problem is not the Police but the politics which is harming ALL of us. Sometimes, when we're victims or just sick of the on-going issues of living in a crowded urban area, we may take out our frustrations on you guys just cause you're standing there as representatives of the City. In our hearts, we know you're not to blame for the decisions made by Rahm, Daley, Rauner, and the Alder-morons. Most of you are just doing your jobs the way someone else told you to do it. We have stupid bosses too.

Nothing wrong with a 401(k). You get control over your own money and access to it in an emergency. If you're older & don't want to threaten your nest egg, opt for low risk investments. If you're younger & have time to recover from a loss, go ahead and see if you can strike it rich.

Point being, it's in your hands instead of some nameless huckster whose company got the contract because Guido and Rahm frequent the same laundromat.

Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Officers,

Your job is a difficult one. Under appreciated for sure. Hang in there. Trends change. It was not so long ago that every police officer and fireman had the respect and gratitude of most of the country. I hope it does not take another WTC style terrorist attack to remind us of the fine work that you do. Change is coming. We will survive this insanity perpetrated by those who feel that their power is more important than a law abiding country. The pendulum will swing the other way soon. Keep your head up. Be smart. Rational people appreciate your work.

Count me as one of the civilians who is grateful for what you do every day.

"Hit them first with preventive arrests, as happened in Ohio. This decapitated massive planned riots before they happened."

Cell phone traces showed that a lot of phones spotted in use in Ferguson last year for Gentle Giant Week suddenly showed up in Baltimore for the "Freddie Gray" loot-and-burn.

Professional agitators with unlimited time and freedom to travel and "no visible means of support," as they used to say.

That one was more like "refused police orders to lay down and put his hands behind his back," and instead charged an officer and was shot. Wild-ass offender was "initially unarmed," and the ofc. kept him that way.

Police aren't the ones ripping your girlfriend's blouse off, or playing "Pick 'Em Out, Knock 'Em Out" (which has resulted in many deaths and severe injuries) while their homies video away, laughing their a__ off at someone bleeding and unconscious. Police aren't the ones peeing in your hallway, smashing bottles in the street, knocking you off your $2500 "fixies," or snatching your many "devices," etc.

Go over by a Red Line stop and "take your frustrations out" on the representatives of barbarism instead. Then maybe we will be getting somewhere.

John Rhys-Davies: We have lost our moral compass completely

August 13, 2015

"Actor John Rhys-Davies gave a candid interview with Adam Carolla where he revealed his views on political correctness and the threat of Islamic terrorism.

"Rhys-Davies, who played the dwarf Gimli in the "Lord of the Rings" movies told Carolla "we have lost our moral compass completely" and said he fears the end of "Western European Christian civilization."

"Carolla responded that American society has become scared to judge others. "This notion that we’ve evolved into a species that’s incapable of judging other groups and what they’re doing, especially when it’s beheading people or setting people on fire or throwing acid in the face of schoolgirls," he said. "I like that kind of judging! That's evolved."

"The 71-year-old agreed with his interviewer and added that we're in an age where "We don't want to be judgmental" and "an age where politicians don't actually say what they believe...Heaven forbid that we should criticize people who, after all, share a different value system."

Only a matter of time before the same happens here. Cops afraid to defend themselves there, just as here. That'd be racist. Sad. sad. sad.

I support law enforcement and I"m sick of the liberal rhetoric about some of these so called inner city youths being "innocent" victims. Mike Brown was no gentle giant, he was a thug and tried to disarm a law enforcement officer. In most cases, it the youths ignoring or trying to elude police that leads to these incidents.

For the rare officer who truly does go bad, they don't represent law enforcement overall. Every profession has people who don't measure up. The vast majority of law enforcement officers are dedicated professionals.

A traffic stop turned violent in Alabama when it is alleged Janard Shamar Cunningham attacked the officer who pulled him over, pistol-whipping him unconscious before fleeing the scene.

Cunningham, who has a long rap sheet with six convictions dating back to 1999, was later arrested and charged in the crime. But the real story here is the social media reaction.

"JUST A Citizen asks: When did this whole "let the assholes burn down whatever they want without stopping them" begin? When were the police told to STOP doing what they are hired to do? Protect. Who demanded this happen and when did it start."

It started in Baltimore. The mayor announced it to the PD. "Give them room to burn/destroy, etc." Brilliant leadership. What a fucking clown, along with that goofy states attorney.
