West Side "Overrun?"
- Street-side drug traffickers peddling everything from heroin to Xanax are causing some big headaches on Chicago’s West Side.
Businessmen say they're losing customers, and police say more arrests won't solve the problem.
We are talking about the corner of Madison and Pulaski.
Shortly before noon on a recent August day, business would appear to be good on Madison near Pulaski. That’s the business of drugs, of course.
On the block, FOX 32 saw pills changing hands for wads of cash, dollars tucked away where they won't be found, and drivers making buys as if they're at a fast food drive-thru.
Good lord - has anyone alerted the Supernintendo? The aldercreature? The mayor? The media seems to know all about it somehow...do the "reverends" know?
Meanwhile, Crime is down!!! and Police are the Problem.

Nobody cares. Case closed.
Unfortunately it is a sign of the times. Makes you wonder if some of the money from those drug sales if making it's way of the food chain to important people.
good for tourism
Crime is down.
PCS is a victimless crime.
Sir-Ma'am Prickwrinkle says too
many people of color are being locked up.
The new Contact Card formset will prove
to be the stake in the heart of proactive Policing.
Eyes straight the fuck ahead...
YOYO...
FIKD/FIDO...
Sound like a good spot to do a drone mission and video record the transactions ...
The BAM!
Up their ass with a Hellfire Missal.
We could get some very good drone mini aircraft for under $1600.
Hellfire missals not included. So let the ACLU complain and defend the drug dealers.
Must have been a slow news day because I don't think there is anyone in this world who doesn't know people sell dope at Madison and Pulaski.
Rumor has it certain coppers purchased summer homes with the OT and court time they earned from the one-baggers at Madison & Pulaski.
Good god! Dope peddlin at Madison and pulaski? Since when? Nothing but good boys on the westside. What year is it?
What do these smart people in charge expect to happen?
Rahm is just fulfilling his promise to stick it in the ear of The Police
by gutting CPD and stealing/re-allocating monies.
I'M SHOCKED!
I've lived on the west side my whole life (I'm in my early 20's, so I can't say I've been around forever), just a little south of MP, but I'm assuming FOX32 is new to chicago? Pulaski & Madison and probably 85% of the blocks on the west side from North Ave to 21st street, Austin to the Near West Side, are open air drug markets. Call the police, they get arrested, people sometimes attempt to keep them off that block, they move around the corner, people call the police, they get arrested or told to leave the area, the guys sometimes finally get indicted, people attempt to keep additional dealers off the block, they move down the street or around the corner, call the police, they get arrested, ... You know the rest. Some tend to think people just put up or are OK with it, but people have developed a "fuck it" attitude (probably developed way before I was born). A lot of the time, dealers aren't even from the block they sell on. Madison & Pulaski has been that way since I was young. Going there to shop, mainly for back to school clothes, weed is/was mainly what's pushed, loudly advertised to any and everybody walking past. While I Can't argue with business owners who claim they are losing business, I do still question it. Despite all the drug dealing, in my time growing up, MP was never looked at as a "violent" place as much as the surrounding blocks. The drug dealing has never stopped anyone I know from shopping on the strip. It is the "go to" place for the west side for clothes shopping. I know slightly newer stores there that sell the same items you can get downtown probably takes business also. On second thought, maybe all the people I see go simply to buy drugs? Or Has the drug solicitation been turned up to a disgustingly ignorant level? Idk. Just seems weird that this seems to be a groundbreaking revelation for the news and business owners are only now complaining yet you allow them (to a certain extent) to stand outside your stores and sell, and even run inside once CPD drives past?
Someone please fill in The Chicago Reporter in on this little secret called, ssshhh here it goes Chicago Crimes committed by non POLICE folks!!!
There are not enough police officers in the Districts Garry. It's that simple.
I worked for "Crazy Joe Curtin" way back when, he always said don't go after drugs! If you make an arrest that shows that there is a drug problem in the district. "Your making the drug problem by making the arrest.
So if you don't acknowledge that there is a problem then there is none, Victim-less crime.
Do the revrends know. Now that's rich!
Just keep the drug sales in the ghetto. We don't need to see more in Edison park or Norwood park. (its there too though)
What does the meida care about this for???????? Police make arrests everyday for DOPE!!! The judges let every single one of them go with a slap on the wrist or less. WHO FUCKING CARES!!!!!!!
I got a stack of contact cards. I am on my way.
So Fox news THINKS they have uncovered something sinister in that this huge open air drug market thrives and the police are unaware?
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I'm in a unit and all of our spots are in the 011th district. But none of the spots include Madison and Pulaski, the spots are all north of that area or south and to the east. Maybe dip shit Barb West can get those cars off Grenshaw and put them on Madison and Pulaski. That woman is about as useful as tits on a bull. This is what happens when some one who was never a police officer is put in charge.
Now you can't fake this, and no one does anything? Guess with Toni and crew " to many black and brown in jail" stupidity this is now ok! Is the alderman paid off? Government officials paid? Do they have business license? City stickers on all their vehicles? Wait could we open a business like this to fund the pension funds? So much easy cash why not?
Drugs at Madison and Pulaski?? Stop it.. You lie
Why don't they go to branch 44 and report on the judges throwing out almost every case for no probable cause based on weight. For you reporters that means in Chicago the judge will release you if you were arrested with less that 1 gram (10 crack rocks or baggies of heroin). Or you could just keep blaming the police.
The public needs to see footage of when the dealers have a "pass out". Junkies flock like zombies as a new dope spot opens and dealers throw hand loads of baggies to them. Almost like when they throw the bouquet at a wedding only...well ya know what it would look like
Madison and Pulaski
Sounds like deja vu to this old timer. That's where the MLK Riot of April 5-8, 1968 started when the "students" from Marshall, Austin and Farragut high schools converged at about noon on the day after MLK was assassinated in Memphis. Within an hour, the rocks and bottles were flying and plate glass windows were being smashed. By late afternoon, the looting and arson began and stores on Madison west of Pulaski were ablaze. Non-stop 10-1's and gunfire everywhere in the 11th District. The dispatchers at 1121 State looked west from their windows and they just saw a huge cloud of black smoke.
The normally cheapskate merchants at Goldblatt's on the SE corner played it well. The store survived because they offered it to the CPD as a staging area, giving away free sandwiches, soda pop, etc. to police. Before that, the shrewd, cheap bastards wouldn't give 011 the time of day not to mention a discount on flashlight batteries, etc.
Two years before, that rioting began outside the CFD firehouse that once stood on the NW corner of Wilcox St. and Pulaski Rd.
Ah, memories...of a time when the CPD was da REAL PO-leece. If the thugs didn't respect us, they feared us.
You can add 333 S. State to the list of brazen drug dealers.
Seems there is an old black gent peddling his wares sitting on the wall marked Pritzger park.
My wife (not a cop) watched him while I was at Benefit Management getting a form .
Wait until Obama lets in 500,000 Islamic mudmen "refugees" from Syria and Africa, and add them into this shit mix.
Drugs being sold on Madison at Pulaski???
In other news: Ice is cold.
Can't get anything past the media, huh?
"West Side Overrun?"
= No hiding the fact CPD has been gutted
no matter how much manpower Rahm
& McOutOfIdeas have stolen from actual
taxpayers and poured into areas like
Mad/Pul...
You people up in Roscoe Village, Ravenswood, Wrigleyville and
Boystown ain't seen SHIT yet of the criminal tsunami swelling
from their over-Policed breeding and hunting grounds and over-topping
YOUR high rent/high tax areas while you're reduced to fucking begging Rahm for some of
YOUR STOLEN Police presence back.
Ha-Fucking-Ha!
You people were SOLIDLY in Rahm's camp for 2011 and 2015
so stop bitching because HE TOLD YOU THAT HE WAS GOING
TO GUT PUBLIC SAFETY SPENDING!
Now you all are noticing his strategy because some of you
have been dragged away by your asses (Those vaguely human
shaped soul reaper thingys from the movie "Ghost" with Patrick
Swayze and Demi Moore) as you kick and scream for the intentionally
diminished Police to "do something?"
Why... Didn't you all go BIG for Rahm because he was going to FINALLY
break the backs of those "rebellious" Cops and their "too powerful" union?
He sold you so called savvy voters a bill of goods, stole BILLIONS
in Police Protection from you AND actual taxpayers citywide then
he laughs up his sleeve at you because he successfully stole
from you while you were distracted by that high paid mongrel
McCarthy humping your collective leg...
"GYAAH! Nasty M/Fer!"
>WHAP! "YIPE!" Nails scampering on
the linoleum while trying to run away<
Rahm laughing because McCarthy is doing
Exactly what he's paid to do. No more. No less.
Enjoy the shit-show with NO real accountability that you
enabled by your own hands.
Just you wait until they take the wraps off that new shiny
"Investigatory Stop Report" that's sure to take as long as
an arrest report to complete.
That with the buggy, inoperative to slow computers we're
using... Rahm will drive crime even lower!
Remember some years ago when poisoned dope was killing people on the west and south sides. Dope sales didn't go down, in fact they went up.
It cost us a lost of man-hours to find the source of that shit and as I recall we never did.
Now if we could just seed that area with some of that stuff we could eliminate a lot of our problems, heroin addiction, bloatted welfare roles, over population, voter fraud.
Excuse me, voter fraud. I forgot this is Cook County where the dead vote for generations.
Just make more street stops and fill in more contact cards and all will be well
That's good, destroy the only businesses that are willing to come to your neighborhood, and they wonder why real food store won't come there.
Where's "Paul Kersey" when you need him? He could clean up the ghetto in a few weeks..
Sir. Sir. Sir!!!!! Stop, you're under arrest. Oh shit, wait a minute. I mean I'm going to issue you an ANOV. No, that's not right. Ah, lets see. Hang on a minute my partner and I have to do a balancing of the totality of the elements of the alleged crime here before we determine what we're going to do with you.
Now partner, we both saw this but our word doesn't mean anything in a court of law in Crook County Courts since the crooks, I mean politicians, are in charge.
What sir? Yea, we'll be right with you.
What's that partner? According to the new ACLU ruling we're going to need to fill out a contact card on him if we issue a ticket or even if we arrest him?
Hey asshole, where do you think you're going? No, you can't leave. Just give us a minute while my partner and I figure this out. Ok? What? No, you're not under arrest, just yet. That's what we're trying to balance right now. It might be just a ticket so hang on.
Ok partner, what were you saying? He can walk away unless he's under arrest? But we're just detaining him. What we'll have to fill out a contact card and give him a receipt now if we don't arrest him? Or even a ticket? How long is that going to take? Shit!
You know what, sir, here's the deal. If you want a receipt then we need to fill out a contact card on you and that's going to take us as much time as if we just arrested you. So we might as well take our time and just lock you up because we'll have to do a contact card any ways. Which means, the stop, processing, you hit lock up, lunch, we're back on the street in 4 hours and you're sitting in a cell. Or we never saw each other. You go about your business. We go about ours, ACLU gets nothing, some more people get shot and the city, well, that's the politicians and media and no one cares what either one of them has to say.
Good luck Mr. Mayor and Crook County with your images.
Now lets all join hands and pray.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't call me Garry. I'm important!
9:31 am- pritzger park a.k.a talkers park is a small park where all the shitbags begging, stealing and hustling can sit down and take a break, pass out, get high ect. Tell your wife to stay away from there. That's what I was told by the brass after going in there and clearing the place of these waste of life's after getting a call of a male black attempting to kiss a female who worked in the south loop as she passed by. Apparently the city would rather see these piles of shit sitting around in there than see an officer (not excessively) making them move along. Screw this shitty as city
Worked 1115 during the 80s. Same shit different decade.
I agree with 11:00 AM. Fuck you liberal jags that elected Rahm a second time.
The McDonalds they tore down near Madison/Pulaski was a haven for pill dealers. Methadone patients love popping Xanex and Valiums with their methadone.
You want to clear the corner. An A-10 would handle that nicely.
I say legalize every drug. If you want to be a junkie go sign up, get your junkie card, go everyday get your fix and be happy. If they did that it would put the dealers out of business, keep the city from paying the high cost of keeping them locked up and in a few years or less they would all have OD. Problem solved.
"arrests won't solve the problem?" Maybe not completely, but a funny thing about criminals is that when you lock them up they have difficulty committing crimes in the hood. Some kind of physical law that prevents them from being in two places at once (unless we start talking cats).
But I guess arrests won't help when they get put right back out on the street. And I'm not sure who would do the arresting anyway because the moment something goes wrong the cop becomes the assumed perp.
Screw it.
I think Leo Panepoopoo at CPIC needs to put out an Officer Safety Alert. "Come on Leo keep the working officers informed about how dangerous the streets are while your fat ass sits at a desk on the 5th floor at headquarters. "
The Reverends are stupid and corrupt and so are the politicians. The police are being blamed for their "failure to intervene" in certain cases and that causes a snowball effect when the criminals get bolder and bolder and more violent because nothing is being done. If the cops stated to arrest people for obstruction of justice, perjury and other criminal acts that lead to violence and rapes and killings, crime would go down and the cops would not get blamed for everything as they currently do. Also, hate crimes need to get prosecuted and charged.

I guess having drug addict neighbors is preferable to drug addict and drug peddling neighbors...if the peddling is in an open air market.
Ah, memories...of a time when the CPD was da REAL PO-leece. If the thugs didn't respect us, they feared us.

God bless you sir!!!!
Great, there goes my master plan to send my kids to Orr High School. What am I gonna do now???
That is so racist. Why they gotta show only black dope dealers.
Drugs sales at Madison and Pulaski? Really?? Still??? Been that way since I hit the street in the summer of '90. It'll stay that way until the next new recruit hits the street in 2090.
Hahahahaha wheeeeeeeeeee cuckoo popopopopopop bang bang bang popopopop KABOOM
19B squad nobody like that HERE!

I ain't nothin' but a simple man
They call me a redneck I reckon that I am
But there's things going on make me mad down to the core
I have to work like a dog to make ends meet
There's crooked politicians and crime in the street
And I'm madder than hell and I ain't gonna take it no more
We tell our kids to just say no
Then some panty waist judge lets a drug dealer go
Slaps him on the wrist then he turns him back out on the town
But if I have my way with people sellin' dope
Take a big tall tree and a short piece of rope
I'd hang 'em up high and let 'em swing till the sun goes down

- you my friend should be a writer or pro blogger with your descriptive heartfelt writing,
you need to be a spokesman for "Back the Blue", seriously
Did fox provide footage of the deals to the police.
Air One or what ever the fuck they are calling it never stops flying in 10/11. Just burns up super expensive air craft fuel. Around and around she goes who pays the fuel bill nobody knows.
I thought Sgt. A.Z, top-cop had that area under his supervision and all was good.

You missed it a month or so ago when they flew over a block party a couple of times on the far NW side near Milwaukee and Ardmore.
Do they still sell fake ID's? I remember back in the 70's and 80's that where you'd go.
Smoke it, inject it and die I say. Who cares. They contribute nothing to society but a democratic vote.

I don't know if it's the same time that your talking about but there was a time when drugs were cut with fentanyl that was (and probably still is) stolen from cook county hospital! It was quieted for awhile but I thought that it did get leaked to the news media who dealt with it as only they can. The Cfd started carrying narcan and their 10 1s started to go up! They did eventually save lives. No lawsuits over that either.
Wrong, 11:00am. I registered to vote for the first time in years to try to get 9.5 out of office.

Oh, yeah, this always happens. "Batch of extremely potent drugs causing increasing overdoses," and they all run there to get their money's worth.
"Where's "Paul Kersey" when you need him? He could clean up the ghetto in a few weeks..."

Just another Walter Mitty-type Hollywood fantasy to help keep the sheep quiet in their pens while conditions drastically worsen. Don't want them rolling their eyes and baa-ing and starting to push back and forth.
Brought to you by the same "entertainment industry" that works so hard at depicting and promoting extreme street violence and the tHuG lifestyle, all tied in with the bling-and-clothing lines, kill-the-police music, etc.
"It's just business." With those fateful words, society lost its moral compass in the tall weeds.
