Pro-Police Rally

  • Two months after nearly 70 men, women and children stood at Archer and Nashville in darkness, rain and near-freezing temperatures—all to show support for Chicago Police officers—those same people and possibly hundreds more are expected to rally at Archer and Harlem at noon Saturday, April 2.

“A turnout of that many people in that kind of weather, on short notice, said a lot about the strong character of our neighborhoods,” said Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch President Al Cacciottolo. “If the springtime weather is good and enough people know about this ahead of time, we may get 10 times as many people as before.”

Plans for the 60-minute rally were announced by Cacciottolo at the GRNW’s March meeting, held at St. Jane de Chantal Parish’s Ward Hall. About 50 people attended.
We got this from a bunch of people, including organizers. Good luck and thanks for your support.

Be careful at any pro police rallies. There might be protesters there like the ones at the Trump rally ready to do damage.

Good to hear the neighborhood is pro-police.

That's the one place I do drive to for Weber's chocolate pound cake. We serve that when royalty comes over.

Protect that place at ALL cost!

If Lovey doesn't get her pound cake, she'll just scream!

Now where did I park my Rolls?

Al Cacciatolo is 23rd Ward Superintendent and a great guy who is very pro police. You 008 th district Rangers ought to remember that in your travels. We don't have too many friends like this guy. Let's keep him! You know what I'm saying.

Be prepared to be branded as "racists" by the media
Be prepared to be confronted by BLM protesters
Be prepared to see St Jane staff in trouble with Cupich
Be prepared to have this event cancelled as a "safety concern" by the city, archdiocese and aldercreatures

Even on the toughest days on the beat, never forget there are good and kind people in this city that support CPD. It's those people that you should remember each day you start your shift. They are worthy of your best efforts.

Thank you good citizens - hopefully the 008th district will be able to protect this gathering unlike the 012 district & UIC PD whose command staff caved in to political concerns such as de-militarization. Another Ramsey/21st Century Commission/PERF sell out of the working police. Hey Chuck, earning that consulting fee? You been very quiet for a guy who knows all the answers.

Al Cacciatolo is very pro police, he has done more for the community then any alderman has ever done. Although he is 23rd ward superintendent he will still help the section of the 14th ward that Burke stole form the 23rd ward during the ward remap.

Lets make sure that there are lots of off duty coppers there. If you live in that area and are r.d.o., get your ass out there to protect those good people who show us support. Nobody has to know your the police, and if some assholes show up to cause trouble or something bad does happen, we can help protect those that support us.

Yes he is always running around everything from getting an old firetruck running around playing Santa Claus for the kids, to helping organize neighborhood parades, He is 1 man that really makes Garfield Ridge a nice place to live. At least this area is starting to "rise up" and show up for it's maligned hard working coppers beat 811/812 the beats in that area are short staffed while the east end gets all the services and hundreds of millions to the tax dollars paid by Garfield Ridge residents is diverted to the thug areas, maybe next the split ward will hold Zalewski-Burke_Quinn_Madigan_Lipinski finally accountable and get the overtime extra police out here, but do the same in 022,016 areas! Eddie Johnson you wanted ideas well here you go, hope to see you Saturday with all the shiny Gold Stars in attendance!

showing support for the racist, "blue wall of silence" cops?

No peace until they see Police rolling on the ground
trying to arrest each other for "misconduct."

Archer and Harlem AT NOON Saturday, April 2. Arrive 1130-1145

Supporters will gather in the Walgreens parking lot as well as the Frank and Joes Deli Parking lot across the street, encompassing both sides of Archer Avenue East of Harlem. There are several supportive businesses in the area so there will be plenty of parking available to all who attend. One block South is a parking lot on the Summit Side of Harlem (West side) large enough to hold about 50+ cars. If need-be the side streets are safe. Remember, this community od supportive and pro-police.

Off topic - So, according to channel 7, Angelo is now reconsidering the decision to assist Van Dyke? Nothing like standing strong in the face of adversity... What now, abandon Van Dyke?

Remember, this is your union. The one you expect to support you and stand by you. Reconsidering? Apparently, when the going gets tough, the wimps go limp.

You great people stay safe from the East end to the West end. Us retired guys at home got you backs.

Most of us retired guys, loved the job and the people they worked with. Once a cop always a cop. Still miss the street after being gone for 5 years.

Bless all CPD.
