The Sun Times has started an interactive map to keep track of shootings.
Clicking on the little red flags will give you a summary of the shooting and a link to an article if available. The Tribune did this with their "homicide tracker" a few years back ,but it kind of fell off the radar with their paywalls and such. We don't even know if it still exists.
Come summer time, those flags are going to be covering certain portions of the map and running the map is going to be a full time job, maybe taking up the time of four or more unpaid interns....until Rahm tells them to knock it off.

Yeah, that Tribune paywall and limited to ten stories access has gotten old. Been looking at the Times site more often (after SCC, of course!). They don't have any comments, but at least I can click on an article and read it.
Now, that's definitely racist.

Gonna give some neighborhoods a bad reputation.
The murder map will just make people feel uneasy and unsafe. Rahm the wise mayor will put a stop to it.
The map should include robberies and theft from person crimes. Would be helpful to the tourists.

HEY - what ever happened to the Predictive Analysis Unit you guys had? You know, the "Crystal Ball Unit"?
Haven't heard anything more about that. Did they stop getting Federal funding? Is that unit even still in place?

I stopped him a few years ago near Armitage & Hamlin for driving like a total jagoff. As I got up to his window, he sticks his head out and yells. "Don't you know who I am?!" Just a total prick, there's a special place in hell reserved just for him.
At least the intens will be learning a valuable skill.

That would be racist, according to liberal logic. It would show certain minority communities kill each other more, and without a way to blame the police, it's just really, really racist. Only your white privilege would allow you to show killings that way, man. Groovy.

Thank you to the Suntimes ! My kick starter campaign just got a R&D boost. The campaign is this...I am selling a 4 hour tour to the neighborhoods with most violence and homicides . I now have an interactive map on where to go ! The tour "bus" is a bullet proof Retired CTA bus and it will take 2 tours a day. The first is fro 10:00 - 1400 then from 220-0200 and the cost is ONLY $75.00 for an isle seat and$100.00 for a window seat.
I know it's more expensive than a day pass at Brookfield zoo but it's worth it ! Plus sometimes the animals will interact with the "bus" and try and "Jack" the tourists when we stop. It's gonna be kinda fun watching them scratching their heads and sideways shooting at the tyres.
I came up with campaign watching the "live" Facebook shooting on the south side. Plus I figure why should the police have all the fun watching while getting paid. My only problem is coming up with a catchy name. I'm thinking something like "Chalkies Walkie's.

It's a cost cutting measure.No need to pay yellow journalists to write a story when they can siphon CPD stats on their own maps. Simple technology.
Just as well, slum times is a tool of the administration just like trib, they promote the narrative / Dem agenda.
It will be down before july 4th.

It's simple, use Chrome as your browser.
Place the cursor on the link to the article and right click.
Click on "open link in incognito window". Another window will open with the article.

No ! Red flags are aggressive and threatening. I need a safe space from them and don't deserve to be subjected to their hostile and data-driven information about the society around me. Facts and numbers are inherently racist and gender-normative. They must be shut down !

You can defeat the Tribune paywall just by turning off JavaScript. Chrome lets you do it for specific sites. You won't see the pictures or the comments but you can read the entire articles.
This map is only when someone is confirmed to be hit. Shots were fired on my block Saturday night; shell casings all over the sidewalk. A call to 911 was made. Is this shooting on the map? Nope. Map does not tell the whole story of where bullets fly.
