Tone Deaf Rahm

Teacher walkout. Bond rating hovering around "junk" status. Homicides pretty much doubled over last year. And Rahm is where?
  • Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel has a long list of enemies. Near the top is the Chicago Teachers Union, with which he’s feuded for his entire tenure as mayor. This past Friday, the union staged a one-day strike, closing schools across the city in order to draw attention to their latest round of negotiations with the city, which wants the teachers to accept cuts to pay, staffing, and budgets.

[...] But the many pressing issues facing the Windy City didn’t stop Emanuel from immediately jetting off to take in the best the Big Apple has to offer: “Hamilton,” the smash-hit Broadway musical. Above is a photo, taken by PhD student Brenden Beck, of Emanuel at Saturday’s 8 p.m. showing of the play that is changing lives.
Must be nice to not have a care in the world.

Isn't Hamilton the play that had the ad out for non-white cast members?

Discrimination is OK if it is focused against white people?

Sorry, but I am boycotting that one. It sends a very wrong message to society that overshadows whatever the play's message is supposed to be about.

Alexander Hamilton died in a duel. Karen Lewis should challenge Rahm to one. She'son her way out anyway.

I bet any money local media will never touch this! Would want to make Rahm angry by exposing how much he doesn't give a shit anymore.

Gotta hand it to him though - nice evening out while giving all the "activists" who are acting like 2 year olds with their temper tantrums plenty of space and rope to hang themselves just like they did at the police hearings. They want what they want and they want it NOW.......they know everything........there is no working with them.

Hey SCC get a life, who the f--k cares what the little pimp does on Saturday night. As long as the City didn't pay for his airfare or tickets to the play. After all, he stole his money fair and square after leaving the White House.
What would you rather he be doing? Staying in Chicago figuring out a way to stick it to big Karen or little Deano.

Had to blow off some steam now that the new Supt.'s squeeze may turn out to be a problem.

"Tone deaf?" During a bad snowstorm in NYC when the streets weren't cleared properly and elderly people were trapped in their apartments, unable to get to the store or doctor, Mayor Bloomberg advised everyone to "go take in a Broadway show."

"The people have no bread!"

"Let them eat cake."

You remember what happened to her.

Does anyone think he cares about this sinking ship that is Chicago?
After it sinks and he is voted out of office he will simply land some posh gig like he did after leaving Clinton's White House and blame his failure as a mayor on everyone else. Besides, this running for mayor thing he did was just a stepping stone and another notch on his resume, an attempt to seek higher office/fortune. Problem is he severely underestimated THE PROBLEM, and as such his administration will go down in history as a COMPLETE catastrophe. And even he -- the master of spin -- will not be able to spin his way out of this.

We are NOT "doing nothing" we are doing our jobs. We are following the laws that we are required to follow. We are not doing proactive street stops because they have been proven to be civil rights violations!! We are still doing a lot. We are patrolling, deterring crime and making necessary arrests, traffic stops etc. all while answering our calls!

I take umbrage to this alderman and any cop who continues to say we are doing "nothing". Please stop, you are creating a narrative that will harm all police in this Dept. Not doing proactive work that might be considered violating the law is not the same as doing nothing. This alderman cannot tell me I do nothing every day. That's an insult and shows his ignorance of what police work actually is. We cannot go back to the time of being ordered to violate others rights in order to get contact cards, now called ISR's. No thanks. I want to stay out of prison.

We are doing it LEGAL, we are not fetal.

Now that the doj is here what do they do when he is gone? We could use their vast skills (LOL) in the districts, nice though sergeants pay, sergeants quarterly, extra uniform allowance checks, and sergeants pension, how much easy overtime again? But they are great at storm trooping through red lights with the gas guzzling taxpayer fueled tanks!

As a matter of fact is anyone at the pension board going to let us take a vote into the pension theft? The pension bylaws if we have any need to be changed to highest civil serve rank for pension not this exempt theft nonsense! But then again pigs get fat hogs go to slaughter you would think Lappe and big kenny hauser would stop this, ahh but then again which miscreant gave away the 60 million to the daley family that was lost? Why is the doj or even the newspaper so called investigative reporters looking into this? Oh they must be bought off also!

Attending a Broadway play is always good. It is uplifting, mind expanding, educational and culturally good. Don't rag on the Mayor for going to the City of Light to attend a Broadway play.

What do his bodyguards do when he is gone? Why are they not assigned to district enforcement we could use their vast knowledge. How do you carry cleaning? Starbucks how to order? Red light what red lights? Grocery shopping best deals? Standing around thinking your better than other coppers? 🤔
