The rookie copper in Park Forest who got shot a little while back isn't doing so well:

My name is Pete [...] and I am a Chicago Heights a Police Officer. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post on your blog a fundraiser we are having for Ofc Tim Jones of the Park Forest Police Department. He was shot a few weeks ago and is not doing well.
We are having a fundraiser (selling wrist bands) on Friday April 8 from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM at 525 Bar and Grill. Located at 525 Dixie Highway in Chicago Heights. I know we can make this a huge success with our CPD brothers and sisters. If possible will you please make a post and encourage people to attend. Also the bar is giving us 25% of the register that day. Thank You.
No word on a website or telephone contacts. We're pretty sure that inquires directed to the Chicago Heights and Park Forest Departments will have the pertinent information.

He was released from the hospital and is in an undisclosed rehab facility. (If you know where it is, please don't post it here.)
He's breathing on his own and has an unknown prognosis and a long road ahead of him. Just remember, that could be any one of us.
