Police Stabbing People Now
- A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death Saturday evening during a fight in Parkway Gardens on the South Side, and two people are in custody, the police said.
The girl was stabbed in the chest when a fight broke out around 7:30 p.m. near East 64th Street and South King Drive, according to the police, who said she was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

I didn't see this homicide on the 5AM news. I saw the double on the expressway, hard not to report that when covering traffic. I did however see a segment called "CPD in Crisis" about how the citizens don't trust the brutal police

Jones completely fucked up the District and just about reversed everything that Evans had in place. Evans would take care of the hard working officers while cracking the whip on the dogs. If the dogs did nothing, then guess what, you're assigned to a fixed post (don't move and call for relief before you leave) - one which was 64th and King (the exact same spot where girl died). His theory was, if your not working and doing shit, then at least he'd use you like a scare crow (deterrent) in the violent pockets of the District. Now, for those of you that don't know the district and are about to talk shit... Even the dog asses that were placed in those few fixed posts need to remain somewhat vigilant otherwise you may find yourself in the middle of a shoot out (which happened several times) or on NBC with their feet up on dash reading a paper as a female officer was recorded and took time. He figured, they were never on their beat, never backed anyone up, never produced any activity and stayed down on bullshit jobs all of the time, why not put their asses in a squad and put them in the most problematic areas? It is time for your readership to update their terminology when referring to convicted "criminals", "felons", "murders", etc,. The Obama DOJ now says these persons should be called "justice involved individuals." For example the superintendent should have referred to Kevin Robinson (from SWAT standoff suspect in 3 homicides) as a justice involved individual not a convicted felon.

Growing up on the W/S of the city, circa- 1960-70'. The old black detectives from the old Maxwell street were the no one to even raise your vice too. To say that they did not play was an understatement. They would send you to ICU in a heartbeat.
Disrespect them earned a ass whipping next to none. Everyone just dropped their eyes when this men walked up to you or gave you the evil eye without saying a word.
When I came on the job, I wanted to shake their hands and thank them for steering me from anything stupid. Some made the old Chicago bear Fridge look like a girl. They always carried some bad ass chrome 45' and always had two on them. Ivory grips to boot.
They sent many a criminal to the dirt nap. There kind and most of the other dick' of old clean out and flushed the punks to no end. You seen them on or off duty at old south side and west side clubs having a cognac or two. People there never feared anyone coming in and acting bad. The mutt would end up in the alley crying for mama cause the mutt could not walk no more. Same with the old time black bosses who took care of many a white copper that got jammed up.
God speed to these legends of the CPD. North side would have a thousand stories of the real CPD in the old days.

I've seen 16 and 15. Our local paper isn't exactly known for accuracy. Either way, if she was a 16 year old freshman what do you care? Do you know what happened? Did she miss a lot school for some reason caused by her family? Did she actually fail a grade? Did she have an undiagnosed condition or maybe need reading glasses? How does handing out Gas Masks at the academy as a Sgt., being immediately meritoriously promoted to a Tact Lt. for a few months (because no other Lt.'s wanted it) qualify you to be a District Commander? Between the District Commander and the two recently promoted Lt.'s involved in the cheating scandal, 003 has sunk to the lowest level it has ever been in the history of the Department. Now compile that with 90% new supervisors and about 70% of the PO's in the District brand new and just off there PPO status and that is a recipe for disaster. I just hope that no PO's get hurt because this my friends is the epitome of the Blind leading the Blind!

Shitty bosses and sgts ran alot of good coppers out of 003.The last good captain on 3rd watch left a few years ago.The quality of supervisors got worse and worse.People got fed up and left for greener pastures.The bosses don't care about retaining experienced officers they want a battalion of impact yes men.
