Unacceptable vs Acceptable

  • Confronted with the bloodiest weekend in Chicago since being named police superintendent six weeks ago, Eddie Johnson on Monday called the gun violence "completely unacceptable" and said the dozens of shootings highlight "the uphill battle" confronting police.

More than 50 people were shot, eight fatally, between Friday afternoon and early Monday, the city's most violent weekend since the end of September, according to a Tribune analysis.

The tally included a 3 1/2-hour period early Saturday when one man was killed and 14 others were wounded — the equivalent of someone being shot every 14 minutes.

Chicago is already closing in on 200 homicides as the city endures its worst violence since the late 1990s. At this rate, the city is on pace to top 500 homicides for the year for only the second time since 2008.
According to HeyJackass.com, Chicago blew by the 200 mark in style, passing 210 by the close of business yesterday.

This on the heels of Eddie's Op-Ed piece in the weekend Sun Times lamenting the systemic failure of the Courts to keep criminals behind bars:
  • Eighty.

That’s the combined number of arrests between two men – one an alleged offender, Raul Martinez, and one a victim, Robert Rosenau – involved in a homicide that occurred in Chicago this past Monday. The long and violent histories of these men demonstrate the challenges that Chicago police officers face every day in making our city safer.

Chicagoans depend on the brave men and women of the police department to patrol the streets each day with professionalism and with respect for the people we serve. Lately, we have seen how much damage a small number of repeat offenders with violent criminal records can cause in our communities.

Police cannot respond to this alone. The sad arrest histories of these men is the latest illustration of how judges and the rest of the criminal justice system need to join parents, clergy, activists and Chicago’s residents as our partners to create a culture of responsibility and accountability in neighborhoods across the city. For years, repeat offenders with violent criminal records have been able to continually cause harm in our communities with minimum consequences.
Two jagoffs with eighty arrests between them walking free - the word "concerning" would be an apt description, but you won't hear that used as long as Prickwrinkle and Dart want the jail empty, and Evans allows political hacks to sit on the benches. It would seem that the CPD and Cook County Courts are working at cross-purposes.

And when the "brave men and women" Eddie sings the praises of, are under siege by the media, the community, the politicians, and completely demoralized to the point that they are unable to do their jobs, well, it would be nice to have bosses who don't just say the words, but walk the walk as it were.

That isn't happening. In fact, history is repeating....and repeating:

That is from the thoroughly corrupted promotional exam of the late 1980's in which the phrase "Notify the Watch Commander" was utilized to clue-in the moderators that this person was on the "connected" list. Retired Sgt John Northen jousted with the windmills that time, proving beyond any doubt that the exam had been fixed from the get go.

In the early 2000's, another fixed promotional exam was exposed, partially by Mark Konkol, currently of DNAInfo.com but then, working for the now-defunct Red Streak. He reminisces last week about how little has changed in 13 years, and he is still, just about the only one keeping an eye on the current scandal.

Eddie is talking a good game, correctly blaming the Courts for the lax sentencing that releases eighty-time losers onto the streets. But praising the working cops, while ignoring the scandal of piss-poor leadership because it happens to lead to the bedrooms of himself, his nearest rival, his recently retired superior and lord knows how many other people connected by political contributions, ethnic clubs, and bedroom antics....

Well, you don't have to imagine what that leads to. You can live it, right now.

Unacceptable....MY ASS

Here's what's "unacceptable".

How many sworn officers are we down to now while we are still paying taxes to have a 13,000 man police department?

I am going to look for an opportunity to ask Eddie and Rahm that question and record the response.

How many do we have now and what is Rahm spending the left over money on?

Yep. Eddie's fiancé, Nakia, is in the eye of the hurricane with the current Lie-tenant exam scam.
Eddie and Nakia can't even keep their lies straight.
Eddie told the media that Nakia had attended numerous study groups but Nakia told the media she didn't attend any.
That's awesome leadership starting at the top.

More and more shootings?

Hmmmmm,,,whatever the "policing strategy" is - IT AIN'T WORKIN'!!

Clean up the city. Kick the shit out of every gang member and break up all these idiots. GO pro-active....

Oh, wait a second. You need a top police force for that. You need REAL leadership for that. You need enough "cops on the street" for that.

Chicago has none of this. Political Leadership???? Don't make me laugh. That's an oxymoron if there every was one in Chicago.

Real police leadership? Wait, let me call my Chinaman to answer that question. Who is "on the list" this promotion cycle? "Leaders of the Future".

Cops on the street? If they are, they are paralyzed. "Stay fetal" is NOT the battle-cry of the REAL police.

Until direction (AND SUPPORT) from the top materializes, Chicago is going to rack up one helluva total this year. At least the city will be #1 in something.

Where is Chief Pee Wee? Maybe some Rapper Institute/Museum, Disco, and Junior College on the Lake would be a new "destination point" for tourism.

Hey boss (Eddie Johnson) , I would love to go out there and police these scumbags , but there's one problem. I don't want to be labeled a racist , by the blue ribbon panel of experts Rahm hired. Nor do I want YOU to label me a racist . I couldn't sleep at night if I stopped some college kid during his spring break and then 25 years later he became the head of a very large police department. I would be so ashamed of myself if I were to racially profile the kid. You know just the story you concocted .... I mean told. I would sincerely like to thank all the bosses and politicians for making it crystal clear how they want me to police. I will always remain fetal until I retire.

Can someone tell me where the honor or integrity is in cheating or lying? How do you expect to hold Police Officers accountable or to a higher standard, when you cheat or lie? If you have knowledge of the cheating or lying and do nothing about it, except look the other way, your as wrong and guilty as the cheater and liar. Until this promotional scandal is addressed by holding those who cheated, lied, or looked the other way, responsible for their chosen actions, you will have no respect from those your are attempting to lead. Therefore you will never be a leader.

The wheels are coming off the bus. The effects of meritorious promotions( affirmative action) has finally taken hold. In past years if you had one or two inept Command Rank people you could put them in non street positions and the competent bosses would run the show. While all the competent people with some exception are gone, retired and history. Those left in charge ,including the present superintendent are what I refer to as triple crown winners, they were meritorious Sgt. meritorious Lt. and then appointed to every command rank they hold, couldn't pass any test and promoted way beyond their abilities and experience. The Chicago Police Department is screwed. Rahm is just like Daley micro managing every aspect of the Department for political reasons. Those of you who are still stuck and want to work, be careful cameras everywhere and no one has your back. The public wants blood of police for perceived misconduct don't let your family suffer for Rahms Political decisions.

That there were too many jaded people on this job or people that didn't study or didn't want to study enough and those were the ones that would call the tests bullshit. But now I know for a fact that the fix is in. It sucks to think that you are stuck in a position with hardly any chance for advancement. I really feel for the legit officers that took that detective test. I can't imagine what it felt like to hear that announcement about the merit. Eddie has a plan to stop the violence. Cancel all use of time off and make officers stay over their tour. They did it over Mother's Day weekend. MEDIA NOTE - the mayor has reduced the budgeted manpower for police to such a level that there is no way police can respond to all the calls for service and still be proactive to stop crime. I don’t think Chicago's cops (like the vast majority of citizens) are getting it: the dual passport-holding, four-fingered four-flusher running the city is not running it for Chicagoans. He’s been put here to mind the business interests of the banksters, real estate cabals, and global corporations. He’s working to keep Chicago’s money and power pipelines to Washington, China and Israel open. As long as LaSalle Street, the Teachers’ Union and Big Education and other Obammy backers are happy, he keeps his job. As long as the flows of capital, new students, new home buyers, big-spending tourists and conventioneers, and illegal immigrant/cheap labor keep gushing, his future is golden.
Meanwhile, a Chicago born and raised, 66 year resident and Vietnam veteran like me has his car confiscated for 3 red light camera tickets last year, and will have his home taken away this year because we can’t pay the property taxes, and it’s not even a blip on the radar. Let a frown pass Pritzker’s or Barry’s face, however, and no effort will be spared to solve the problem.

And remember, Many of those "Notify the Watch Commander" Lieutenants went on to be Exempts, well into the 21 st Century. In addition, there are reliable Rumors, that some people received compensation when their attorneys proved one of those tests was fixed. A Sgt. I knew retired in disgust but filed a lawsuit before he left. He returned to the job two years later after he cut a "confidential" deal with the City and received back pay and an increased pension when he finally retired. He also received an assignment to the Unit of his choice as a Sergeant, which was his rank when he first retired. This was done in more than one case, because the City did not want to admit what had happened. If they had admitted the truth: 1. They might have had to take bars back from those promoted. 2. They might have to give the test over. 3. They might have had to compensate everyone who did not pass. 4. And perhaps worst of all, they would have had to admit to a Criminal Conspiracy within the Department. Confidential settlements with just a few was a much better deal for the City. Remember, They Never Demoted any of those that they promoted, and that will the case here. And as in the past, many of those Exempt went on to retire with comfortable Gold Braid Pensions. Always remember, that first week in Sergeants School when they tell you: "Morale does not matter." Although at least now you won't have to hear Ralphie Price come down and tell you:"Now YOU are all part of IAD" Yeah, sure Ralphie. Baby"G"

Total dumb-assery on the part of someone who should know better.

"Gun" violence? Fool. The first step in fixing a problem is to correctly identify it. THE PROBLEM ISN'T GUNS, moron!

The problem is GANGS. The problem is lack of effective sentencing. The problem is early parole.

But the longer idiots in and out of the media promote the notion of "gun" violence, the less attention is focussed where it needs to be. On GANGS.

Of course, that would require putting the spotlight where it belongs, on a social problem, instead of pointing it at an inanimate object. But fixing social problems is harder, takes more work. And God knows the Democrats have thrown enough taxpayer money at social engineering and only made things worse.

But guns? Hell, a simple fix for the simple-minded. Perfect for a politician. Stupid everywhere else, including a police superintendo.

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/new-ferguson-chief-has-no-magic-pill-for-curing-city/article_35d3fd6f-5c8c-5ea0-aaff-1dd4fe407635.html

FERGUSON • The day he was sworn in as Ferguson’s new chief, Delrish Moss said that his pursuit of a high-ranking position in a police department had a personal motivation: He wanted to fire bad cops like the ones who abused him.

So now you have a police boss with an established vendetta against working officers under his command think the coppers there will be comatose?

OT. Every copper who bitched about the last FOP regime and voted these no nothing bozo's in deserves a swift kick in the ass. They never return calls and when they do all you are left with is frustration. They only identify themselves by first name, if they identify themselves. You explain the issue you are having with an answer of I don't know how to help you, but I will find out. Then they come back with an answer of there is nothing we can do, so suck it up. Maybe the last electees made some deals behind closed doors, but if there was a problem they fought for us. This crew are all in bed with the mayor having an orgy. Then a few weeks after there is shit thrown at us, Dino Sr. will say he is looking into it, never to be heard of again. In my years I have seen many elected members of FOP come and go. 30 years worth. But this is by far the worst bunch of elected members in office. They are not even close to having our backs. They won't even throw you a bone. It is just suck it up buttercup, FOP ain't doing shit for you, but thanks for your dues money. Instead of your dues being used to help you with union issues, we'll just pocket it.

SCC this incident isn't widely known because it ended as well as it could have I suppose.
But last week in 010, two detectives were patrolling the district in an Ford Fusion looking to identify a car in one of their cases. A Latin King gang member throws up a gang sign at them, and as the detectives car stops, the Latin King runs up to the drivers door and puts a gun in the drivers face. Luckily as things turned out he recognized they weren't rivals and fled on foot. He was taken into custody and was found to have TWO guns on him. The incident is verified because it was captured on surveillance video.

But here's the kicker. He was 46 years old. In 1986 he was sentenced to 45 years for a murder. While in custody, he stabbed a corrections liutenant and did 10 years of solitary in Tamms for it. After stabbing the liutenant, why not let him out after only 25 years for his "good behavior." And then after his release he took a burglary pinch and hit probation.

The system is broken. And we are lucky that this particular incident didn't end up much worse. Luckily he was "old school" enough that he wanted to verify his target first instead of spraying at their car at the hint of a challenge like these younger kids. Plus, the heads up actions of the detectives probably saved their lives. Glad it all worked out, but our good luck can only extend so far, and in a system like this the deck seems stacked against us.

Pay attention and stay safe brothers and sisters.

Seeing that driving on LSD during the night is so dangerous. With people/folks getting shot.
Just maybe the city should look into closing it to ALL traffic at night to cut down on the homicide
rate. Or better yet have a car sit on it every other block with someone getting O.T. Just to send a
message to take it somewhere else....ijs

Uh, Francis...Chicago police lockups are NOT jails. They are temporary holding facilities. People are held in them pursuant to state and Supreme Court laws. Misdemeanor crimes mean IBonds if the defendant has no money (except for DV).
No CPD Supt. is going to tell the W/C's to violate the Constitution (to say nothing of the Supreme Court) and order that arrestees be held past the time they are supposed to be released. When you get some bars on your sleeve sonny, you'll understand. Now, back to your mommy's basement with you!

I liked CPD Superintendant Eddie's Op/Ed in the Sun times where he stated the most probably truth that ~1,300 hard core criminals were responsible for most of the murder and mayhem in Chicago.

I'm up for some practical yes

"McCarthyism" - let's get that that list, name the names - where to these perps live, hang out - if they have over 8 felony convictions, 80 plus arrests - this information should be made public.

Chicago is a sanctuary city and doesn't allow enforcement of national immigration laws so the governments of Mexico and those in Central America simply export their worst criminals to Chicago.

We should do the same.

I would like to send many, most, all of these worst ever 1,300 criminals to these 2 towns:

New Haven Ct - home of Yale University

and

Cambridge Mass - home of Harvard University

All of the establishment Presidential candidates from both corrupt political parties are mostly from Harvard and Yale - same goes for the US Supreme Court and Eric "My People" Holder.

Let's let these folks at Harvard and Yale experience Chicago's worst gang banger, thugs, punks.

I'm up for running them out of town.

Anyone want to join me?

OT:

Nevada Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore found herself last week at the center of a controversy, where she often lands, after claiming the Second Amendment granted Americans the right to aim firearms at a “duly authorized law enforcement officer who is just out there doing his job,” in response to a local TV reporter’s question.

“I would never ever point my firearm at anyone, including an officer of the law, unless they pointed their firearm at me,” Fiore said in that interview, which gained national attention after it was reported by Think Progress.

She went on to say that she would fire her weapon at law enforcement officers in self-defense, if she believed her life was in danger.

“Once you point your firearm at me, I’m sorry, then it becomes self-defense,” Fiore said. “Whether you’re a stranger, a bad guy, or an officer, and you point your gun at me and you’re gonna shoot me and I have to decide whether it’s my life or your life, I choose my life.”

I went to the link and read the article. It's a political speech for everybody watching, yes. Did he actually say anything wrong? No. I have read endless comments here about who should have been fired long ago, who should have never been the police etc. and then a guy says he's going to fire those people and now it's "way to motivate the fetal troops." We all know some guys who are better off fetal because they are nothing but trouble in any other posture. Listen to how you sound, he wants to go after "bad cops he was abused [by]" and that's an issue? If it was your kid with a pimpy arrest we'd see the tables turn. There are too many cops on the job, who love being cops, that can tell you stories of being jacked up, tuned up, stopped etc. for nonsense back in the day. I guess they are all liars, activists and crooks too.

As requested, one question and answer from the recent dicks test.

You are sent to the 011th District in regards to a followup to a residential burglary.
As you arrive on scene you are met by the paper car who briefs you on the circumstances
of the burglary and the subsequent arrest. After the officer finishes briefing you, what is your response to him/her?

A: Nice work officer, I will put you in for a Salute.
B: Do you have all the Witnesses and Victims present?
C: Is all of your paper work complete?
D: You got nuttin here kid.
E: A, B, C are correct.

The correct answer is D:

5/10/2016 05:40:00 AM

I did not take the test but I can say from the get go that one can not prosecute a person, especially a juvenile, for theft after four years. The statute of limitations has expired. One can still prosecute if the kid falsified grandma's signature. There is no statute of limitations on that one. So I guess by default, the answer would have to be forgery.

It seems, according to the progressive/liberal set, that the word " thug" is a code word used by whites for black people and is now considered a derogatory term. They are relying on a book written by some college professor about the "Thugs" in India in the early 80's. It seems that these progressives don't listen to the current rap songs put out there by blacks that routinely use this word, plus other derogatory racial words. Seems that George Orwell is writing the script for the liberals.
