He didn't like it too much when two homies got capped today in the 30 sector. I'm an old hair gel now, so I don't need this bullshit anymore. Me and my partner are not going to leave, we are just going to bring in zeroes until they dump us. Good luck filling the spots. 025 is just a hair short of using reverse senority to fill those tactical spots. I really feel like a sucker now after I had to fork over 150 bucks for me and my wife to go to the mandatory district christmas party. After several years of getting strong armed to go to those 'shit shows,' I'm done.

I just want to address the Christmas party comment. The reason you should go is for the retirees. Some but not all put blood sweat and tears into this job and this is Their send off. So give them the respect they deserve go to the party and send them off. Screw the commander or anyone else do it for them.

Well, in the last year, 025 loaded up their Tact and gang teams with guys right off probation, so it shouldn't be a surprise that the quality of arrests is lower.
That said, the current boss is an absolute Tool, who has demonstrated his willingness to fuck with people. His XO is is an asshole as well.

I attended Compstat yesterday and two things stood out. Eddie got up to speak, and one of the first things he addressed was the Blue Ribbon Report. He said he'd really like to respond to it, but it seems as though the newspapers got a copy of the full report before he did. As of yesterday, he still had not been given a copy. He had an interesting message about the report though. He said, "no matter what is in that report, it does not define us. We need to see what's happening now, and move forward not look back". I thought that was pretty stand up.
The next thing out of his mouth had to have a few sphincters tightening. He talked about how the contact card numbers were basically bullshit and how you can't compare them to ISR numbers. He said the ISR thing would "work itself out" over time. In the meantime, and I quote, "With that said, I better not hear of anyone in this room threatening to split up partners or dump people off of their cars for not writing ISR's". I looked over at Kulbida and his head snapped down. Escamilla looked like he wanted the floor of the multipurpose room to open up and swallow him. I know Johnson and Kulbida have a history. No doubt in my mind that Johnson has heard about Kublida and Escamilla's antics. The man made a statement. You'd have to be stone deaf not to have heard it.
So obviously, Eddie knows that McCarthy's Contact Card numbers were bullshit from the get go and attempting to maintain that sort of public interaction in the current environment is an invitation to numerous dates at Federal Court. We are still amazed at the number of lieutenants, captains and commanders who haven't gotten the message yet.
If anyone want to let the Supe know what has already happened in 025 and 012, post it. His people are obviously reading.

The Commander ain't all bad. Christmas came early for 3rd watch when he dumped lt. KS to days. Arrogant goof acts like a big tough guy, when everyone knows he's just a wimp.
The Commander needs to relax and let the Indian Burial Ground run itself. He's already worried about making Deputy, instead of securing his Commander pension. Just stay in your office and everything will be fine. Commanders rarely get dumped back to Lt. unless you're involved in a domestic battery like the black Hawaiian chick, or if you go behind the Superintendent's back and complain to the F.B.I. about not enough hispanic minority supervisors like that one idiot Commander we had several years ago.
Escamilla has always been an arrogant, condescending, know it all hard on. Not a bad copper in his day, just a jagbag that had to be the center of attention and always had to have things his way or no way. Worked 011 tact at the same time he did (early-mid 90s) on a different team but had the displeasure of seeing and hearing his whiny ass regularly. To be fair, the guns to which SCC refers weren't in Anthony's locker, but one of his teammates that he was working with when that particular incident went down. He got caught up by being in the wrong place at the wrong time (jumped in with guys on another car because his partner was on furlough). Regardless, having a judge this/close in your corner saved him then and surely is the reason he made merit sergeant. And then merit lieutenant. And then appointed captain. And again to DC. It's disgusting to see someone like Anthony rise through the ranks, but it wouldn't be the CPD we know if things were legit. That's why I did my 20 and got the fuck out and hit the private sector. Seeing how bad things have gotten, I know I made the right move. Escamilla a commander! Just reaffirms what is wrong with CPD.

It is a shame that the unit Christmas party has devolved into a " shit show" that no one wants to go to. It should always be a time of getting together with your co-workers and celebrating the season and your good fortune to be alive. The one party that I never went to were these " promotion and retirement parties" for the hack exempts. I ran one once for a really great boss that was leaving ( one of the few). You cannot believe how many calls I got from exempts for " complimentary tickets". Yes, the aholes who make a lot of money wanted free tickets to attend a party for a fellow exempt.

Well I'm a copper and live on t h e northwest end of 25 and I must say that I never see a car, I know they pull 2511 off of the beat alot but when you guys and gals are up here have some oride, personal pride and write these cars and trucks parked illegally, you don't need to go to court. And you can still be fetal without losing your 1 hour lunch breaks in Elmwood Park. 25 is a whole lot better then the ghetto districts.

The best 025 Christmas Parties were during Commander Robert "Bobby" Lopez time. Everybody worked for Bobby back in 2009. Productivity was through the Roof. And the department turned on him, attempted to bust him down to a Lieutenant and shipping him south ...just for speaking out. He fought them and kept his Captain rank, but get shipped to Commander of Cold Case. They killed a true Leader. He then Retired a few years later, but took the fire out of him to move up. I learned a lesson during that ordeal.

Not sure where you work, but our Christmas Party is also a retirement party for all those Officers who have retired throughout the year.
I've only missed 2 in 30 years
I go to honor those who gave decades to this job and made it out in one piece and in decent health!
Well if anyone decides they want to leave I'll take their spot so's I can strut around the district in my tight jeans showing off pictures of duck hunter collections Ive grabbed in Domestic calls.

Never when to a Christmas/retirement party and that included my own retirement a Sgt gave me my BS stuff from the Department I could have cared less was happy to leave

A number of commanders were downgraded during those J-Fled years.
(1) Most of them were black, Lopez and Martinez were Hispanic.
(2) The Dept. was run back then (in supporting roles) by the biggest bunch of Daley ball washers you've ever seen here.
Masters and a few others, plus RayRay in the Supt.'s Policy group. Pretty much a racial divide among those who got dumped
back in those days, but where were those who got dumped going to go to complain? Even the other exempts by and large
said nothing about it, except to pray that it wasn't going to be them on the chopping block next. At least Bobby Lopez
had the support of Hispanic church leaders to pressure Daley into returning Lopez back the exempt ranks within a week
of his demotion, and into an even better (less stressful) unit at that! I don't think I've ever seen a member of this dept. demoted
from an exempt rank and returned to it so quickly in 38 years. Probably never will again! Hats off to Bobby for flexing back

Speaking of Christmas parties. 011 had a very low turn out, heard only 2 POs showed up from 3rd watch. Moral is bad over there.
