- Three people smashed display cases with mallets before fleeing with several wristwatches Friday morning on Michigan Avenue, Chicago police said.
About 11:45 a.m., three young men or boys, smashed a window at a watch store in the 800 block of North Michigan Avenue, said police.
The trio made off with "numerous" wristwatches and fled the scene.
Police released images and descriptions of the suspects late Friday afternoon.
They are black and between the ages of 17 and 25. The three range from 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and weigh between 160 to 165 pounds.
Wow, the Tribune printed an actual description of the offenders? How did that happen? Who was asleep at the switch? Or did the North Michigan Avenue Merchants' Association finally decide that they pay way too much in taxes to have their businesses ransacked by roving bands of jagoffs that Rahm and Kimmy refuse to take any sort of stand against?
Amusingly, while the Tribune broke with precedent by actually describing the offenders, they now declined to identify the victim store for some reason. Would shoppers feel less safe knowing that this store didn't have armed security on site and they are essentially trusting their well being to thugs armed with hammers? Just FYI, it was the Omega Store from what we heard.

I heard this story on 720AM. "Thieves with hammers" was the only description. So now, when I shop down there, I'm on the lookout for that.
Shoppers shouldn't feel safe shopping anywhere there are roving bands of "jagoffs" but the dangers are extra high in a city that protects it's criminals and illegal aliens.

No crime, why because the crap now allowed to do what they want was not allowed. The shop owners had clout, they still do but are afraid to use it.
