- Drive by at 326am in 018 at 1922 N. Lincoln Ave at/from Drop Club (late night license that caters to the undesirable element that comes into the City). Bullet went through window, into the home and lodged in the living room ceiling...of a $2M home in Lincoln Park. Even more disturbing is had it penetrates the 1st floor ceiling it would have hit a child’s bedroom. What’s manpower like in 018? How many people detailed out? Hmmm, where’s the news coverage? Rham’s losing control of this City! Ald. Michelle Smith has lost control of the Ward/District
$2 million can't even buy a little peace and quiet in Lincoln Park. We imagine there are about to be another few homes on the market ....or Vanecko Bullet-Proof Glass is going to get a few new clients.

I can tell you manpower sucks ass in 18 especially days and afternoons. Unfortunately some coppers tend to ride out their jobs. We now have to do crash reports on computer so everyone goes into the station to do one when they have an accident. Then you have wannabe cops loss prevention constantly handing us felony arrests for bs retail theft. At times leaving the entire 30 sector without cars. VRI units are useless. 018 is busy, not West/south side busy but busy.
018 is a skeleton crew. We need more people. Backlogs every day.

A Google search confirmed that local MSM never gave any coverage to the drive-by shooting that occurred outside the Drop Club, 1909 N. Lincoln Ave.
I just phoned "Nicole" at the office of Ald. Michele Smith to report this. She told me she knew nothing about the shooting. She will pass info on to Ald. Smith with the purpose of revoking the liquor license and stepping up police patrols in the 10 sector of 018.

They open with good intentions and ride it out for a few years while they’re popular with a desirable client base. Once business starts to suffer, they find new promoters to fill the club anyway they can. Guess who these promoters start bringing in? Their money is just as good as anyone else’s, but the club just prays they don’t have an incident that causes them to lose their license completely, or get sued royally. Sounds like this case came close to causing both.

The bars you’re referring to are a couple blocks north. This place is an island to itself.
I've been on my Alderman's ass (Reilly, 018 and 001) about how we keep throwing up new highrises and yet, have 0 net new police in 018 (and 001 is down almost two dozen - all per the FOIA from CWB). I keep pushing.
Yes SCC, the 018th District is short people on every single watch. 20 years ago we had 535 officers. Currently we are below 300. This district can't be run properly with under 300 people. Especially when there are at least 25 people each day on the medical throughout the district. And thats just the medical. And yes the 018th district is busy, very busy. Not westside and southside busy. But busy due to the west side and south side shit coming up to 018 and causing havoc! What makes it worse is that you have officers on the watch's that lay down on jobs which causes other officers to pick up the slack and have to do more work. Essentially you have coppers fucking over other coppers because they won't handle their jobs properly. No supervisor in 018 has ever asked officers for more numbers or to go above and beyond their assignments. But they have asked for officers to do their jobs and do them in a timely fashion. Pretty reasonable if you ask me but not for some in 018, especially on days. Just the other day one of our illustrious FTO'S (JG) went in with a simple warrant arrest with his PPO. 4 hours later this POS was still in the station on the warrant arrest while the district was going up for grabs and other officers were having to handle his beat. This is also the same FTO who is going around the district telling anyone that will listen that the academy instructors are telling the FTO'S to stay down on their jobs because its busy out there. JG your an idiot and no one listens to you. To all my fellow coppers, don't be a JG. Do your jobs in a safe timely manner and don't fuck over other coppers on your watch.

If anyone's been paying attention, robberies up and down Lincoln avenue, carjackings, etc.
The West Loop is the new Lincoln Park. Look at the boom on Randolph and the Fulton Market district. Big money condos, shops, restaurants, anyone with money- especially younger professionals and people relocating to the city are now choosing the West Loop as their location of choice.
Times change, and Lincoln Park has passed its prime.
Drop used to be a decent place that no one really knew about. There were a lot of college kids, but it was low-key and more quiet.
Lately it seems to have started to cater to more of a south/west side clientele, and sadly to say- that shift in culture brings the problems and headaches we've all come to expect from that mentality and culture....
Don't spend two million to live across the street from a 4:00 bar.

This may have happened across the street from Ranalli's, but let's get one thing straight- Ranalli's had NOTHING to do with this. Ranalli's is a pizza restaurant, and basically a wine-bar that closes early.
This incident rests solely on Drop and the crowd it has been drawing.
It started out as a basically a "Top 40" bar that catered to drunken frat boys and sorority girls.
Nowadays, as they have been pushing the house music, and even more "urban" rap music, the clientele is changing.
The neighborhood doesn't want a 4am (5 on Saturdays) club anyways- but it's at least moderately more tolerable when it's silly drunken nonsense. I know some of my neighbors have been complaining about this place for a long time already.
But now with the new shift in music, you get a lot of Puerto Rican gangsters from Humboldt and Logan, and south and west siders.
And they never come in groups of 2 or 3, they roll in deep, wearing sunglasses in the dark club, hooded sweatshirts (with the hoods up), and on party buses.
At first the neighborhood was annoyed, but at least the problems were neighborhood kids causing silly drunken problems. What we don't need is 1 establishment importing the mayhem and violence from other areas of the city to our usually quiet neighborhood. This has to stop.

When I ride the areas that 10 years ago no beast would go there to stick up and cause their ghetto havoc. Now these areas such Lincoln Pk, Old Town, N/W side are totally void of ever seeing a mark squad. I really am forgetting what the marked ones look like after being gone 7 years. That ball-less prick alleged mayor has totally fucked this city to no end for what he did to the CPD. 10 years ago a little sooner, you could not drive two blocks without seeing a unit from 001 and 018. These districts have to be running less then 50 percent of manned cars on street then less then a decade ago.
From what I hear, 007,010,011, and 015 got more cars rolling then ever before and increased. It really pays to be a parasite living in the trash ghetto and getting the best service money can buy.

Just remember New Lenox is Mokena with indoor plumbing.
Case was reported as "Damage to Property" due to bullet through window into home owner's ceiling. No one was injured. No one in custody.
