I live in the north end of the 45th ward and see blacks in the stores, in the parks, some walking their dogs. I see other people of color, I see women in Muslim garb. I have not seen anyone bother them. I have seen the same people numerous times which would indicate they live here. There is no need to push public housing as you can see what it did to other parts of the city. I have called Arena's office numerous times for city service over a period of months to no avail. When you call there, they ask for your name, address & phone. I asked why and they said so they can follow up on your complaint. I said just take care of it you don't my information. I then asked for their name, home address and phone. They said why do you want that? So I can tell you what was done. That was met with chilly tone! Instead of this social cause, which will cause more property owners to flee, what is Arena doing about the O'Hare expansion which updates the Runways that parallel Thorndale and Devon so they can land those newer massive jets. This will destroy the northwest side. See the Feb 2018 article in the Fair Allocation In Runways-O'Hare website. Note the rise in complaints already.

I don't think that the ACLU has ever been the friend of law enforcement. Back in the mid 70's when the federal courts started racial quotas on hiring and promotions we contacted the ACLU for help as e felt it was racial discrimination. The ACLU responded that they felt this was discrimination but for a good cause. As you know quotas were eventually banned by the federal courts as well as race norming.
Guess you have no say as the police on what goes on where you live. Out of curiosity, is Arena planning on bailing out of the community once his project is complete? Just retiring and laughing as he drives away?
Why don't the police start a political action group? PO went in the apartment with landlord on a CDTP call where the landlord opened the door for the PO. The Offender resisted arrest. The offender was tasered and sprayed with OC. Found NOT GUILTY. The same judge found a case before this one for resisting NOT GUILTY also. The judges and the public HATE us. The ex gf of offender gave a deposition that offender was told by POs he was under arrest. The jury chose to believe offender. The plaintiffs atty is an ex corp counsel ex states atty. The Sgt that responded to the 10-1 got $100,000 in punitive. The PO that showed up got $50,000 in punitive. The doctor where offender was treated testified offender has taser prong injuries that required ointment and a bandaids. No lasting injuries. The jury found punitive for unlawful entry, false arrest, excessive force, and malicious prosecution. The POS found on excessive force used OC and Taser. The Sgt just restrained his arm. The expert witness said the POs use of force was justified. In FEDERAL COURT the JURY chooses to believe the police or offender. It doesn’t have to make sense. You’re at the JURY’s mercy. $126,000 in compensatory against the city. $425,000 against 5 POs.

Understand that this is no joke. This is the machine at work. Be very careful and fight offensively. Funds will be necessary and the accused should start combining resources and be prepared for a fight for their rights. FOIA the government employees communications and all related reports. That includes COPA. Bring a federal lawsuit against Arena and his staff for coordinating with government agencies to deny your constitutional rights. Motion for subpoenas requesting all work related communications from their personal devices and social media sites. The people have a right to that. Start focusing on why Arena is bringing 5150 to the northwest side and how, after two previous failed attempts, he was successful. Remember, he stopped their initial plan and then, without proper authority, agreed in a lawsuit to zoning changes. Get a copy of any public filings in that lawsuit and FOIA all of his communications, directly or indirectly, about the project, the lawsuit and those involved. Be careful most of all. This is just a start.

I read the case review linked earlier here in the comments. Basically, the landlord opened the tenants apartment because he believed the tenant was damaging property. They (landlord and police) had no reason to enter the apartment without a warrant or consent because no exigent circumstances existed. The PO's argued the long banging sound was someone fighting, but the courts didn't agree with their belief.
Lesson here is in landlord/tenant disputes are civil matters and anything short of actual physical violence threatening life wouldn't give PO or landlord reason to enter without consent or a warrant. Landlord will be pissed, but just as we are expected to know the law so should a landlord. Also know this applies to SQUATTERS too. If some landlord wants you to kick them out and says they don't have a lease or anything, tough shit.

Tenant punched the janitor. Janitor let police into the apartment without a warrant and absent exigent circumstances or fresh pursuit.
Tenant sued and won for 4th Amendment violations.

He is a very close friend of Arena and more than one time when he was drunk has said he wants to do the same thing in the 41st Ward when elected Alderman. Show up holding signs letting everyone know how he is against the 1st amendment and our constitution He will probably have his communist buddies there taking photos of you and they will follow you home so they can get your address and harass you, just for expressing your constitutional rights and the right to free speech, no matter what your profession is.
Those doubting Arena intends to run and win a third term as 45th Ward alderman need to think again. Besides wanting to see his agenda through, it's for the simple fact that he needs a pension (personal finances were f'kd before 1st election in 2011). Alderman are fully vested at 10 years, which means a third term in office is necessary to bleed the taxpayers to the end of his days. Prevent that pension and his agenda by defeating him at the polls in 2019.
Re: this recent document dump. The 2nd frame on office letterhead and the list of recipients includes the name of the president of a self proclaimed "independent" & recently established Jefferson Park community organization. It was formed after that same individual attempted a ballot coup at an established organization that has long opposed high density development. This failure to take over that org & the establishment of the new one was done with Arena's full support. Also. That individual serves on Arena's zoning committee, whose meetings are held out of the public eye & are exempt from Open Meetings law per AG Lisa Madigan. He is also an unpaid advisor to Arena. And his position within the public transportation realm means he has a vested interest in high density development. While the claim is these activities directly related to the 45th Ward office are separate from the community group (an IRS listed non-profit prevented from political activity), the fact is the group strongly advocates for Arena's agenda, as it is run by one of his henchmen.
Lastly. Arena (& his staff) avoids direct contact with users of social media. Instead he employs like minded "volunteers" to troll dissenters on social media platforms & community forums to elicit responses that could be used against the dissenters. Don't take the bait.

The Saturday night after Black Friday a couple years ago on Michigan Ave when the loudmouth Lamon record was marching with his seven people she was out there on Michigan and Chicago. She didn’t know we were standing next to her in plain clothes and told Lamon that she was going live in two minutes and told him to do something so she could get it live. She then looks at us and we show her our stars and heard her tell him to act up. Her face was priceless. She’s a POS.
