Reagan Stevens, a deputy director in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, and two young men were arrested for illegal weapons possession while sitting in a double-parked car near the scene of a Saturday night shooting in Queens, cops said.
A loaded, 9mm semi-automatic pistol with its serial number defaced was hidden in the car’s glovebox, and there was a spent shell casing on the floor near Stevens’ feet in the rear of the 2002 dark red Infiniti SUV, law enforcement sources said.
The trio’s arrest followed a burst of five gunshots that activated an NYPD “ShotSpotter” device in Jamaica at 9:42 p.m. Saturday, sources said.
And she's the daughter and step-daughter of a pair of judges. Amazing how the politically connected leftists expect everyone else to follow the law while they run around smoking weed and firing guns.

This is a failure here in Chicago as over 95 percent of shots fired calls and shootings are taken in via OEMC. This is pushed by the University of Chicago Crime Lab, which is Pritzker. Rahm has spent millions on a technology that has resulted in not one arrest. The scandal is much larger then the fraudulent NIBIN program which also has cost millions but also has not led to a single arrest.
And just WHAT, pray tell, do you think will happen to these clowns????...Hmmmmmmm????? I'm going with NOTHING.....

Miss Stevens now has her street creds now that she is involved in a criminal justice matter. Kind of like Francisco "Smokey" Sanchez of the Two-Six street gang who worked as a violence interupter for Ceasefire saving hundreds of lives preventing gang wars through his taxpayer funded efforts. Smokey Sanchez was recently convicted in federal court for possession of a weapon by a felon and was sentenced to 48 months in the federal joint. Sanchez had earned his creds after serving a 24 year sentence for murder. Miss Stevens seems to be following a similar path of criminal involvement. Lots of tax money funding two violence success stories in progressively led cities.
Now start using drones to patrol in high crime areas.

I believe that getting caught in NY State with a handgun in public carries a 3 year mandatory prison sentence ( recall the NFL player who shot himself?) I wonder what will happen to this person, connected to the in power political establishment ? Bears watching.

False! There have been dozens of arrests made that I am personally aware of; I'm sure there are many more that I don't know about. I don't drink the Kool-Aid but the technology is helpful. Many of the 041A's lately are coming in via the shot spotters before the calls of person shot come in. This claim is #fakenews

For those unaware of how these rooms operate, it is essentially a minimum of four entities. There is the U of C analysts, Hunchlab predictive technology, the Pods and their viewing system and Shotspotter technology. Who funds this or how much is paid is anyone's guess. Knowing where gunshots are coming from and being able to view the immediate area sounds great. The rest seems like hocus pocus nonsense.

i don't know what district you are in but a lot of the people shot are detected by shotspotter before the calls come from eomc. nothing beats the copper that calls out the loud reports, but the shotspotter is accurate and faster than the 911 calls. if you got a good sdsc room operator and pods in the area you quickly get a description of possible shooters leaving the area.
hunchlab on the other hand is crap and doesn't work and a waste of cash.
A case of Old Style says she walks away from it. Or it gets buried and forgotten.
Meanwhile waiting in the station for radios and cars while the department wastes money on this hunchlab nonsense.
