Um....What Now?

So the community, made up of fine people, including hundreds of cops, firefighters and their families, came together not too long ago and saved the local theater.

And this is the thanks they get?
  • “Tasered: The Philip Oliver Coleman Story” will be performed at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., on Saturday, June 23, at 4 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 24, at 4 p.m. “Tasered” is an intense theatrical stage play that aims to show the severity of mental illness and police brutality in African-American communities. Tickets are $37.50 for VIP tickets, $25.50 for general admission and $20 for early bird tickets.
If the north side can get a school principal to resign in disgrace, we certainly think the south side can get a slanted, liberal, anti-police stage play shut down.

UPDATE: Remember, this guy died from medical malpractice - he was improperly medicated at the hospital by an actual doctor....you know, with a medical degree and everything. Not from being tasered.

If mental health illness is a disease, why are the police dispatched? Shouldn't that be a job for cfd? Then we wouldn't be demonized for defending ourselves from an adult who probably outweighs us or has a strength beyond the normal range

Yes the BAC was begging for money, because the bank made a one time offer to match the money to pay off mortgage. Thus numerous fundraising efforts by the community including Alderman pumping gas and restaurants offering a percentage to the BAC. And this is how they repay us......Fuck em, fool me once.

Milo Yiannopoulos was supposed to speak at the Patio theater on Irving Park Rd. in Portage Park. The lib-tards complained enough that the was afraid of the damage that would occur to his theater and in the community that he declined the engagement. These so called Americans only believe in free speech when the dialogue fits their own point of view. Enough is enough. It's time for the conservative minded folks living in Chiraq to stop living in the shadows and speak up. Enough of this anti-cop, police hating rhetoric. This "show" needs to be shut down and cancelled.
Let me know when / where to be for the protest. I'm in!

It should be a play about medical malpractice since his cause of death was caused by meditations given to him at the hospital. Not from being tasered. But I'm guessing that part will be glossed over.

One of the Communist goals was to take over media and the arts in a skillfully crafted way to re-educate the masses. So many people have dreams of acting that they want to follow the crowd and are brainwashed into the believing the accepted "norms" of the artsy fartsy community. Have other than acceptable thoughts such as conservative viewpoints and you will be ostracized, blacklisted and profiled forever banished from the arts community. So many who are into the arts are gullible believing any thing to be part of the self labeled cultural elite.

The anti-police dishonest media narrative is hitting new highs, on another not watched Bruce Willis in death wish on Comcast last night excellent movie, throughout the honesty listening to news reporting of “what is happening” in Chicago all the murder and mayhem, we need a Paul Kersey type to stop the excessive violence, the police are being bastardized so severely by the elected and media!

Interesting o'shea police hater propaganda monger we have pro-police in this corner:

Ald. Sposato proposes ‘Lightfoot rule’ — 2-year ban on seeking political office
https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/sposato-proposes-lightfoot-rule-two-year-ban-on-running-for-political-office-police-board-mayoral-election/

The aldermans spot on comment about Lori the scammer:
Sposato said it’s a “very safe assumption” he will not endorse Lightfoot, whom the alderman has branded “anti-police.”

So that leaves a few best choice for law and order and the taxpayers is without a doubt Vallas! When he was head of public schools always treated police with respect, and he has police in his family. You look at pandering rahm, the removing police retirees health care, shorting police pension funds, the huge sex scandal perpetuated upon "the children" at cps that is now exposed to sunshine, closing all the mental health centers allowing them no care he must go!

People talk about recent police shootings where police were confronted by high on drugs mentals, you have to wonder if the mental health centers were still opened would the offenders have been on proper mess and not attempting to kill police officers? The responsibility lays with the Ceo (rahm) and the board of directors (alderman) think if they had responsibility to the shareholders (taxpayers) and not running roughshod over everything we could make Chicago great again! If they were in private industry they would be thrown on the streets immediately!

When there are no jobs, no hope, no change and continual pandering by politicians, there’s a movement or a play looking to place blame solely on the police.
Most these folks likely sponging money off of Rahm’s Cultural Affairs grants and the MacArthur Foundation to stay afloat and pay themselves under the guise of artful social justice awareness.

Thought:
I think that the one sided production was plagiarized from a 1961 off-Broadway one night bomb musical,
“This is My Lantern, Dude, Where’s My Cooler?”
The W.C. Coleman Story that chronicles his many haphazard midsummers nights with dim light, warm beer, gnats and nasty mosquitoes.
(Choreography by Zeke Fosse, Bob’s lesser known second cousin)

Perhaps the Coleman lantern in many ways was the precursor to the flying insect, blue light zapping device and eventually, the disruptive human taser.
Seemingly the yellow color of the taser device and blue lights of law and order attracts and influences unbecoming human behavior.

A crazy man cannot have intent (to commit crime) in Cook Co. and Cook Co is loaded with the crazy man.
Medical problems along with the physical necessity or restraint needed to seize the affected should be left to the medical professional with their methods. The misfortune of error lay entirely upon the police in every case.
Heed and don’t make medical problems your police problems.
“Tasered” shows there’s no logic anymore to protect lives or harm to onesself or others, even if the violent batter their own family that prompts police action to deal with an uncooperative combatant, later deemed by attorneys as “mentally ill”.

Stay fetal, work smart.

Sorry, SCC, but your logic is fundamentally flawed here: just because you personally disagree with/find the message of this play offensive doesn’t in any way mean that it should be “shutdown”. Likewise, the fact that Beverly and Mt. Greenwood both happen to be home to “hundreds of cops, firefighters, and their families,” some of whom may have helped support the BAC, literally has nothing to do with whether this play should be performed. It’s a play, which is obviously an exercise of free speech, so the analysis stops there. If you don’t like the message, don’t buy a ticket. Better yet: write, direct, and cast your own play with whatever message you find acceptable as a counter to this one.

And not that it really matters, but I’m one of those “hundreds,” I basically grew up in the BAC, and I’m an ardent supporter of law enforcement. Go figure.

This asshole attempted to harm his Mother and she was so terrified she jumped out a second story window, she signed the complaint to have his arrested. The tazing in the lockup had NOTHING to do with his death, which was caused by an injection he received at the hospital to calm him so that he didn't harm himself or the other hospital staff he was fighting with. The low information Black Community is being told this was a case of sadistic White Cops tazing a young Black Man to death, maybe Mary Mitchell would like to chime in, but won't because it doesn't fit the template of stupidity and ignorance that dictates her racist columns. "Yeah I Said It"

They DEMAND we use tazers INSTEAD of firearms.
They WIN their demand.
Now, the same crowd opposes - wait for it- USE of tazers!

For years they claimed nobody wanted to take your guns away, but now many have finally come to admit that yeah they really DO want to take guns away.

Likewise, those who just don't want black people arrested for ANY reason whatsoever, much less apprehended by force, are coming very close to admitting that fact outright.

As such, the REAL racism in our society is indeed revealing itself. Racists are exposing themselves day in and day out.

So let me get this straight, a Black Mother is being attacked by a Black Son and calls 911 and all Black Officers observe her sprawled out on the lawn after jumping out of an upstairs window to escape with her life. The Black Mother signs a complaint and the Black Son is arrested and ends up getting transported to the hospital for an evaluation, then attacks the Black Hospital Staff and sustains Black and Blue bruises from the struggle. The next day after causing hell at the hospital the night before he is asked by the Black Lockup Keeper to get ready for court and becomes abusive and none compliant, whereupon the Black Lockup Keeper calls for assistance from a group of all Black Officers and a White Sgt. To prevent injury to both the Offender and the gathered officers he is zapped once and only once to control him. His berserk behavior continues until,it's decided he needs to go to E/R. Where to prevent further injury to all involved he is administered a shot to calm him that unbeknownst to the Dr kills him by accident. Yet this is portrayed by a lying play write like a 1950's lynching by the Klan. Disgusting and Ald O'Shea should be disgusted by this.

Go figure.

6/13/2018 04:38:00 PM

This "play" is a lie, from beginning to end.

So, fuck off.

That was the short version.

Here's a slightly longer one.

Let us have a "play", at the BAC, that is not packed full of lies. A play that recreates the actual events so completely turned into lies, by liars, who lie for a purpose.

Is that purpose your purpose?

Are you so fundementally flawed as to actually spout the crap you spouted, the crap supporting lies, as if they are art? As if this taxpayer funded boondoggle of an " art's center" is supremely imbued with this thing you call free speech, which you have either no fucking clue what it actually is or you support using the freedom to speak as your means to lie.

So, your ardent support is found to be..... Feeble.

Oh, and are you authorized to approve this play, the one you suggest be written, to be actually performed at this bastion of free speech?

Or do you already know that your suggestion/challenge is just more of your feeble?

Fucking smarmy "artists".

NOT SCC HERE, but I have to argue with this. Retired P/O and a fairly prolific writer myself. Have had multiple published articles and a handful of plays at small, Chicago specific theaters. Remember Rham "the rat" gave 250,000 of TIF money to the Beverly Arts Center the 19th Ward failure a half a mile from the Buona Beef stand at 107th and Western Ave who also got 250,000 of TIF funds too. Why did either of these two get our tax funds AKA TIF funds? Both private entities and Rham donors and Chicago failures.

6/13/2018 10:59:00 AM

Those two snot nosed punks at Buona Beef got $ 250,000.00 in taxpayer TIF money? They hosed and insulted two union men who were picketing when they built non-union. They had a lot of insulting things to say about working class union people. Don't patronize them. In addition, they had a major Sexual Harassment case in front of the EEOC that they lost. So I'd think twice before ever letting any women in my family work for or patronize this place.

So Rahm gave these anti union sexist assholes taxpayer money, that came from union households and women across the city. Remember this when you go out to vote. BTW, just to clarify, I'm not a progressive, but have no issue calling out assholes like the Buona Bros.

This exercise in free speech is racism and lies disguised as art. It portrays whites, police in particular, as murderers of the poor, innocent, black man. It furthers a false narrative that is costing police and citizen lives, endangering the welfare and property of good citizens. If you're such an "ardent supporter of law enforcement" and proponent of free speech, maybe you should protest the message of this play. Maybe you shouldn't buy a ticket to this particular play. Your suggestion that SCC should write a play that counters this one's message is really clever. Maybe a play that really shows how the "community" behaves and fails at every aspect of contributing to society would be a good choice. Surely that would be welcomed with praise and admiration, and be an example of free speech and art. No one would violently protest that play. Thanks for supporting law enforcement in your mind. It really helps us out here in reality. Supporting law enforcement means opposing those who falsely portray law enforcement as a bunch of racist murderers. By the way, a particular theater has a choice as to which plays it hosts. It isn't about free speech. Freedom of speech means you can write the play and perform it. It doesn't mean every theater, or a particular theater, has to allow it on their stage. That's the issue here, which you failed to understand.

***************************

I guess you missed the part where I said I’m one of the “hundreds”, so I think i do a little more than support law enforcement “in my mind”. Good try, though.

And I perfectly understand what the issue is: you and many others commenting find the message of the play offensive because, as you argue, it furthers a racist narrative based on lies and, to add insult to injury, the theater where the play will be performed happens to be in a neighborhood that’s heavily populated by CPD/CFD. The problem with this is that the BAC doesn’t exist to cater to a particular mindset or worldview; it exists to foster the arts, which are as complex and divergent as anything else in life and are often intended to provoke a visceral response, to make you feel uncomfortable in order to convey its message. In that way, I guess you could say that the mission statement of arts centers like the BAC is to disrupt the silo effect of our social media bubbles/safe spaces where we only hear and see the things that reinforce our already-held beliefs by offering us the opportunity to confront that with which we disagree or don’t understand.

In any event, based on your not-so-subtle dog whistle comment about the efficacy of doing “a play that really shows how the ‘community’ behaves and fails at every aspect of contributing to society,” I’m sure you took equal offense at the efforts to ban Steve Bannon from speaking at the University of Chicago earlier this year or at the protests that erupt nearly every time Milo Yiannopoulos is invited to speak somewhere, right??

So yeah, the issue here is pretty simple: you don’t like the message of the play and you think that the BAC shouldn’t allow it to be performed on its stage because you see it as an invasion of your safe space. Well the great thing is that the solution is also pretty simple: if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, or just don’t come in it at all. The choice is entirely yours, but I’m pretty that the BAC is going to continue doing what it does regardless.

To the simple of mind, all is simple, or simplified to be simple.

Thus, you.

So many, many, many words leading up to your simple, simple mind's conclusion.

You truly are simple, and, thus, transparent to those actually cognizant of the complexities of which you spout and no nothing of.

And the awsome defending of the right to lie, well, what else could you do? Oh yeah, it's "art", uh huh. And my farts are gaseous symphonies sent from the gods.

Just drop the assinine nonsense that you are a supporter of law enforcement.

Your own delicate, fragile, baby shit brained ego obsession with denying just where you are: Embodied in flesh, doomed to suffer and then die.

And all your wimperings won't spare you from that, not even your precious, precious, oh so precious illusions of superior artistic talent.

No, sweetie. The issue is that you cited freedom of speech as the reason it should be performed at the BAC. You failed to acknowledge that it's not a free speech issue. Is the BAC a government entity? Do their choices in which art they allow at their center depend upon the constitution? Are they forbidden from preventing a particular play from being performed at their theater? The point, which was rather obvious, is that they have a choice as to which plays they allow on their stage. Since they have a choice, the community that supported them, has the right(that freedom of speech thing you referenced) to express their displeasure at which plays they choose. I don't need a safe space, because I'm not part of your butthurt generation. You are free to say and think whatever you wish around me, and it won't bother me one bit. It will just let me know who you are. As for your hot kitchen analogy, did you somehow get the impression that I would be attending this play? I made my choice on that one already. As for the BAC doing what it does, let's see how long they last by alienating the community that previously supported them. Your Steve Bannon and Milo bait doesn't affect me either. I don't give a shit what either of them has to say. I care even less about what those who whine about their opinions have to say. The only thing I could possibly care less about is when an obvious liberal like yourself claims to support law enforcement. You can't actually support us while having the opinions you shared here. You like to say you support us, and you probably think you do, but it's obvious to us that you don't. Keep your support and enjoy your play. I'm sure it will be a big hit. The BAC is known across the globe as the mecca of great theater. Be careful as you're leaving the play though. The "community" to the east of Western doesn't care that you donated to BLM and BAC. They'll victimize you just the same.

Here's my four cents, because it's at least twice as valuable as your nonsense: I don't need to read Colin Kaepernick's autobiography to know what views he has on certain subjects. I don't need to be interviewed by COPA to know they want me to lose my job. I don't need to have Farrakhan over for dinner to realize he doesn't like me. Certain things are obvious without firsthand experience. The very fact that someone would choose this subject at this time tells me all I need to know about the play. I don't need to read anything or attend the play. I don't need to meet the playwright or the actors. I don't need to hear reviews from the media. I know enough already. "Picketing and moaning" against a particular play at a particular community theater is far more effective than liberal snowflakes protesting some speaker on their campus. If I stand at a local university with a "Trump Sucks" sign, that's not effective. If I stand in front of a specific theater showing a specific play, and inform potential customers about the lies and stupidity being portrayed in that play, I'll have a much bigger impact. Have you ever wanted to see a particular movie, but then someone told you something about that movie, and you decided not to see it? If not, I'm sure you'll acknowledge that does happen. If protesting drives potential customers away, or at least informs them about the trash they're about to see, that's a win. If the BAC chooses not to show the play, that's a win.

And you, of all others, have not made a trip to Florida, have you?

Boycotting a non existent chow hole is all you got.

Sad.

What would be the point of him going to Florida? Should he track down the already convicted murderer and yell at him? Should he rebuild Red's in order to protest a "chow hole" that actually exists? Take your meds.

I'm a cop supporter, CFD here. Edison Park though. Here is my two cents: did you even read the script before fucking bashing it? I mean come on you don't know what they portray unless you've read or seen it. If its anti police fuck em but maybe the play shows two perspectives and lets the viewer decide. Picketing and moaning is as bad as snowflakes protesting campus republican/far right speakers.

Put CFD on 8 hrs shifts and see how fast picketing and moaning becomes the CFD favorite pastime. Maybe put the question on a referendum and let the voters decide

What would be the point in him, and you, posting a comment on the blog? His comment being about....what, exactly?

Your comment being about.....uhhhh, what, precisely?

Is He expressing his displeasure and merely venting here?

Are You merely disturbed at the imagined thought that venting here might not be sufficient for him to be thoroughly vented on this subject?

"take you meds" has always been a feeble phrase, used by.....take a guess.....

As previously requested:

Have YOU read the script?

If so, is the script on line, openly available to be read by the public? (That would be the most efficacious means to achieve truly free speech, World Wide truly Free Speech.)

If so, PROVIDE the LINK(S).

If you don't provide the links, your opinion, thusly, stinks.

So, apparently, does:

1. Promoting false and inciting fabrications, designed to rouse the rabble most unwise to arouse.

2. Pandering to the pimple brained clan of not in my back yard but don't care if it's forced into yours.

3. Triggering the inane addiction to those brain juices that are released, when dummies who'd never, ever dare to actually do anything, but crave those juices of superior outrage they can indulge in, in the safety of their not at all humble abodes.

And, what is the least bit controversial about this piece of performance propaganda? It conforms thoroughly to the targeted audience's mentally ill delusions, which are far too numerous to enumerate.

You think a truly controversial play, one that, literally, states that thing that gives even the most hardy democrat imbecile the conniptions, the truth, would ever be allowed to perform at this particular venue?

Now, that, would be a controversy.

Would that sell tickets?

No guessing required. The term "take your meds" is used by one who notices someone who is ranting incoherently due to not taking his meds. So, please take your meds. In your most recent rant, you forgot to answer the simple question posed: what would be the point of him going to Florida? Please don't answer until you've taken your prescribed medication in the proper dosage.

And you omitted any answers to the questions posed and presented to you.

What do you have to hide?

What thoughts are you thinking, in your own mind, that you choose to not express in your comments?

And how, pray tell, are you so familiar with, as you believe, these "meds" your so enthusiastically tout?

Are you projecting?

The father of the deceased was just on WLS AM radio, he said there were two gangs in Chicago, the gangbangers, and the Chicago Police. And this mutt works for law enforcement as a probation officer in some capacity. Just so we know what we are dealing with.

I try not to encourage the ramblings of the insane. It tends to make them think their questions and ideas have some validity to normal people. Just take your meds and then answer the very simple question. Or did you realize your suggestion was just an insane rambling pile of nonsense?

No one from Beverly will go to this...at least no one I know. It will be attended by some MP residents and some who live east of Wood Street after they have dinner at Home Run Inn and leave no tip.

I have donated to BAC and BAPA in the past but I will not moving forward. Community support drying up will have a greater impact than any protest. Unbelievable that they thought this bullshit would fly.

So you are projecting.

Blame your 'script' writer.

After all, you are one of the blameless elite.

Or, could it be, could it possibly be, you are the original commenter?

Round and round and round you go, where you're stopped, only SCC knows.

So, you've succumbed to the temptation to beg?

So sad.

SCC does have quite the wicked sense of humor.

Just like actual normal people do.

You know, those not pushing dope.
