We're going to try something different since the Fourth of July lands on a Wednesday this year. We can't really predict a weekend worth of mayhem, so how about this:

Do you know how to read the contract? Do you know that when your in Tact or any of these other silly teams you give up pretty much everything in order to wear your tight jeans �� and your baseball cap �� backwards you mush.
Also, if your 3 year wonder ass doesn’t like it then leave the 10 hour days and go back to your District and answer calls like the rest of us.
When you turn in your to from requesting to go to any units they require you turn in a to/from and sign it agreeing to “being flexible and willing to change your work schedule as needed”. Now go back to your mothers basement and rub one out.

Where in the contract does it say that it’s a violation? You obviously don’t have the proper answer, so you may want to read E02-02-03 in the department directives. Go cry somewhere else...no lake house for you this weekend.

The four-day event put on by the Exchange Club of Naperville kicks off Wednesday, and will feature 11 rib vendors — nine returning from previous years and two making their Naperville debuts — and nightly musical headliners, including Steven Tyler, Pitbull, Melissa Etheridge, Stray Cats and Jake Owen.
“Last year, we had people from all 50 states as well as 14 foreign countries,” said Mary Howenstine, Ribfests director of marketing and public relations. “I actually know there is a couple coming here this year from Japan, as there have been a lot of emails flowing back and forth.”
Good publicity helps get the word out, Howenstine said. “Our event is on a lot of social media and web-based calendars, and people plan to come to the event as part of their vacation plans,” she said.
While ribs are the drawing card — “We always like to have peoples’ favorites as well as something that is new,” Howenstine said — there are lots of other dining options available. Everything from pizza and roasted corn to coconut shrimp, giant turkey legs and buckets of cheese fries with bacon are on the menu.
The goal is to keep it an event that gives people a hometown feel, Howenstine said.
“The chairman and others work hard to retain the original sense of Ribfest, which was always about ribs, community, carnivals and local bands,” she said. “We work hard to try and not forget our roots.”
Organizers are also hoping to make Ribfest more affordable this year by reducing the cost to the South Park portion of the fest grounds, which includes family attractions, local bands, carnival rides, a corn-eating contest, magician show and line dancing.
“We reduced tickets to just $5 per person instead of the general admission of $16 last year as we realize some people aren’t interested in the main stage acts and aren’t there for the concerts later at night,” Howenstine said.
Children 11 and under are admitted free to the South Park, and everyone will be admitted free to South Park after 5 p.m. July 4 to see the evening fireworks display.
On Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6, there will also be specially priced foods, including ice cream, hot dogs and rib sandwiches available from noon until 4 p.m. Howenstine said the deals are being offered “as some people may be working those days and we want people to come out, even if it’s one parent bringing children.”
Those paying regular admission will wear RFID or radio frequency ID wrist bands this year instead of having to carry tickets.
“These will be activated when people come into the park, and we’re hoping this those in the North Park going to the concerts will find it easier,” Howenstine said.
Ribfest is ultimately a fundraiser for the Exchange Club, and to date has raised more than $16 million to help victims of child abuse and domestic violence, officials said.
The fest is open from noon to 10 p.m. daily. Knoch Park is located at 724 S. West St., and off-site parking and shuttle service are provided. For more information, go to www.ribfest.net

He only served four years for the home invasion and sexual assault.. He was then apparently mistakenly released despite the pending warrant for the jail sexual assault.. He is now back in the Cook County jail after extradition from Alabama.. I guess the logical questions are why this animal only received 4 years for the first sexual assault and how did he get drugs and a knife into the jail.

TO 7/2/18 4:29 pm. I have a CCW and take the responsibility that comes with it seriously. Yes, I have the license but pray I'll never have to use deadly force. I come from a cop family and saw the change in family members after they were forced to use deadly force. Say what you want, but any copper worth his salt will tell you they wished they had the day off instead. This ain't Saturday morning and you ain't watching the lone ranger! And stop that "locked and loaded" crap. You ain't "in country" either.
After reading my previous post to 7/2/18 4:29pm I feel I need to explain something. I have been in many, many CCW classes explaining and teaching proper safe handling and the workings of handguns. Pistol and revolver pros and cons, etc. I have come across quite a few "Dirty Harrys" as I call them. They think they are going to get a CCW and be proactive in their travels. I try to instill in them that a CCW is not a license to be a crime fighter, but a right to defend ourselves WHEN EVADE AND ESCAPE IS NOT POSSIBLE. All possible avenues should be undertaken BEFORE deadly force is used. Yeah, I know it's a split second decision at times but it is what it is. CCW holders must realize they are not the Police. No offense to the poster or anyone reading. I just have a hard time with the lock and load mentality. That attitude will get a CCW into trouble.
1. I try to instill in them that a CCW is not a license to be a crime fighter, but a right to defend ourselves WHEN EVADE AND ESCAPE IS NOT POSSIBLE.
(You are confusng the practical utilization of Avoid with the unreliable choice of "evade", presuming it to successfully become "escape". Avoiding crime is the practical strategy; being armed and capable, then considering evasion and escape, both not chosen until after the effectiveness of Avoiding has been rendered moot, is to negate the value of being armed.)
2. All possible avenues should be undertaken BEFORE deadly force is used. (Another bunch of coconuts. Avoidance is the only avenue prior to it's being nullified by failing to succeed in avoiding. Once the crime is in process, there is only one choice for an armed individual to choose: be prepared to kill or be killed. Any other thoughts at this moment of event will get you killed. You are armed and have the capability to not get yourself killed. Use it.)
3. Yeah, I know it's a split second decision at times but it is what it is. (No, it's not, by any default other than your opinion, a split second decision. You choose to be armed with the means to kill, there is no reason for you to have not already decided you will kill to keep from being killed. This decision you speak to cannot be about whether or not to defend yourself with the deadly force you have and are capable of utilizing; it must be about when. Precisely when.)
4. CCW holders must realize they are not the Police. (No shit.)
5. No offense to the poster or anyone reading. (Politeness, as a default state of mind, will get you killed. Not here, thus, you survive.)
6. I just have a hard time with the lock and load mentality. That attitude will get a CCW into trouble. (The attitude that will get anyone killed, having concerns about being loaded and locked, aka being ready, is what will reliably bring hard times to the survivors of those who worry more about anything other than not being killed.)

As a comfort, I offer you this bit of advice: To any considering being armed with the means to kill, be sure you are certain you will kill to not be killed. The absence of certainty in this will get you killed, if you are lucky, and, if you are not, will get you all the grief you'd ever yearned to not experience, because you will kill without actual cause, or you will get yourself maimed because you paused to consider your non existent options.
Best to be always aware, to be capable of avoiding, rather than having to think faster than you are capable of blinking.

Humanity has not survived by being the fittest in body strength, but by using, as they say, your beaner, buddy. Civilized experience has a way of negating basic knowing of nature's essential perils.
And the essential peril of kill or be killed is the only peril requiring the successful use of deadly force; this is as true for law enforcement as for everyone.
