Stolen last week - has anyone checked the recycling yards?
- A missing semi with very expensive plane parts inside vanished, apparently taken from a secure area at O’Hare Airport.
CBS 2 [...] reports, sources said police have been looking for the driver of the truck and want to question him.
There is a surveillance image of the truck reported missing by PFH Air LLC. The Lake in the Hills company hauls general freight and does interstate transportation. The truck was taken from a secure area on West O’Hare Avenue at the airport on Sept. 17. It was last spotted near Washington and Kilbourn on Chicago’s West Side.
Great airport security. This is going to be problematic for vehicle pursuits if the thieves manage to mount it on a car.

Airplane Parts = National Defense or Security, taken from an International Airport; is this a job for the FBI? This should be easier to solve than say, finding Hillary's 30,000 misplaced emails. What’s going on? A double homicide within 1000 feet of a Police Public Safety Headquarters. A soft lockdown at 3 p.m. yesterday for those working extended hours and shelter in place orders were given. Personnel smoking in the rear of the building scurried inside after actually hearing live gunfire which was described as unbelievable with some sworn personnel relating this is the first time hearing live gunfire outside the training academy.
Unit 121 fearing for their Police Agents (pay grade-D2) sent out a memo reminding all male, female and gender non-conforming officers to clutch their purses tightly, have their covert car keys at the ready, travel in groups and report suspicious activity to 9-1-1 when walking to their cars in the headquarters lot. Fire personnel were also an available resource to escort 121 personnel to their cars.
Police Superintendant Johnson related that most sworn employees had completed their long hours and extended tours of duty prior to 3 p.m. Johnson put a plan into place for tomorrow morning to have specialized armed and at the ready uniformed police units visible and patrolling the Public Safety Headquarters creating a “Safe Passage” for critical useless and non-essential command staff personnel. CFD will do their part by passing out smoke detectors and distributing coloring books to the many overworked, not appreciated and traumatized armed clerical commandoes of CPD.

Can't really be sold or used. The parts are serialized and no airline or engine shop is going to install that part without a paper trail.
So a million dollar part ends up as a few dollars scrap money in a junkie pocket.
The parts will show up at Maxwell St.
Very hard to sell airplane parts. They all have serial numbers, and paperwork that is on file with the manufacturers, and in some cases the FAA. Plus the parts only fit a specific make and model of aircraft. But then again if your selling it for scrap it's a different story.

The trucker made a stop at Washington and Kilbourn for:
- stimulants or pleasure
- a combination of both
- returned refreshed, items intact.
More importantly -
Was he driving the wrong direction?
Was he putting citizens lives in danger?
Is there an Investigative Reporter going to stake out O’Hare secure lots and count trucks coming and going?

The airplane parts are in the trunk of a Caddy being driven towards the Southwest by Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
