Get Under That Bus!

  • Attorneys for the Fraternal Order of Police are accusing Cook County prosecutors of failing to provide Chicago Police officers with equal protection under the law. In a letter to First Assistant State’s Attorney Joseph Magats, FOP attorney James Thompson assailed prosecutors for denying input of police officers in prosecutions in which officers have been injured. The prosecutors may be violating state law in doing so, the attorney alleges in the letter.

The letter, authorized by FOP Field Reps Bob Bartlett and Martin Preib and President Kevin Graham, taps into a sentiment among FOP members that the Cook County State’s Attorney administration under Kimberly Foxx cares more about criminals and their attorneys than police officers. The letter specifically addresses an incident in August of last year in which an officer was bit in the leg during a downtown demonstration called “Slut Walk.” The demonstrator, Lee Dewey, was accused of biting the officer. Dewey was charged with Aggravated Battery of a Police Officer, a felony.

Because of the bite, the officer was out of work for six weeks and ordered by doctors to take a concoction of medicines to prevent the possibility of an AIDS infection. The officer spent his time off simmering in anxiety. But a plea agreement was apparently worked out between prosecutors and Dewey. His charge was reduced to a municipal code violation: unlawful assembly.

The decision was made without the knowledge of the officer, the FOP claims in its letter. The officer stated he would never have approved of such a reduction in the charge. The failure of prosecutors to inform the officer and allow him input in the process violates the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Action (725 ILCS 120/1)...
Maybe this could be applied across the board since Kimmy and Prickwrinkle, Timmy and Tom don't want criminals behind bars. Why bother including the victim of any crime?

I was just at 26/cal where they gave a guy probation for armed habitual criminal because he plead guilty to another charge and I guess they Nollied the armed habitual. Essentially probation for a class x felony that carries a maximum of 30 years in jail. Where I’m assuming the state/p.o was the victim. And had absolutely no say.

Did anyone notice the newspaper articles regarding the double homicide near Fenwick High School and the two homicides that resulted with the offender being charged only with "concealing a homicidal death" that the State's Attorneys Office declined to state that CPD had asked for homicide charges and they declined to approve same.

Because the inmate population at Cook County Jail

Government and Society itself are deemed RACIST,
oppressive and illegitimate, thusly providing justification

mostly civilized and law abiding society.

And The Police have been wholly nullified from
dealing with THEM in accordance with State Law

So the Progressives are all aboard to pending

And their busily pushing a Chicago Progressive

Officer, you are entitled to seek a civil remedy.

File a suit and judgement against the each and every one of the politicians, the political activists, the handler including the dog, the owner of the building that houses the dog, the kennel or breeder that sold the dog, it’s vet and the companies that made the leash and the dog chow it eats and the stores that sold them.

FOP should begin to educate the membership about civil liability representation to go after these obnoxious activists and especially the elected who condone their lawless actions by allowing the feral to act out.

As many have said on this board, the leftist "restorative justice" agenda of Foxxx/Bullwinkle/Dart et al. will convert criminals to heroes and cops to targets.

Prosecutors in Crook Co. now have a very easy job -- charge nothing unless it's a slam dunk and the suspects are acceptable to libs and leftists. Otherwise, dismiss or no charge as much as you can. Keep jails and prisons as empty as possible, and say you're doing it to save taxpayer dollars.

It's all coming true.

Got into a gunfight with a jag a few years ago, he was hit, I was not. ASA under Alvarez did the exact same thing, dropped all the attempt murder and agg batt to the police charges and pled him out to agg discharge and uuw by a felon. They pled him to 10 years with 3 already served before his plea. He's already out. It's been going on a long time. Beside hating the police, they are elected and a conviction by any means is a win, no matter what the cost, and a stat to be touted during the election bid. Foxx and her ilk have taken it one level up and are very forthcoming about their desire to ensure all charges and any convictions to criminals are extremely limited and reduced whenever possible.

1. Do you believe that items stolen and recovered are, therefore, not stolen items?

2. Do you believe that items, stolen and recovered, are always returned to inventory?

3. Do you believe that those caught stealing items are caught by non existent, non paid for, magical pixies? Who appear, magically, catch thieves, recover stolen items and, then, vanish, costing the business not a penny?

4. Do you believe that all thieves are caught stealing, all items thus stolen are recovered, no costs to business are incured and, thus, your ass insertions are valid?

5. Do you believe that no thieves will attempt to steal after, having attempted to steal and been released, these thieves are then not convinced that the only result of betting caught stealing is to be free to try again?

6. Get a fucking job, nimrod, get your first paycheck, cash it, and wave the cash in your hand, the one not glued up your ass, on the public way and see how long you will do this before some thief snatches cash out of your hand.

7. I trust you will, IF you can get anyone to hire you, do #6, since you have no sense.

– Q: In what manner was the handgun recovered?
Don’t rely on rats ratting each other, it’s not 1982.
If you’re going to go to great lengths to respond to ghetto bs and play ghetto bs chase, catch and release, do it right.
Too many still quickly grabbing and handling the evidence and running in w/the feral mutts, prob calling the ASA themselves near checkoff.
Wait for the Area.
Make it a day, a tour, a little OT.
Sit on that scene ‘til the cows come home.
Wait for an ET do it or use gloves and send it off to be processed at the very least.
Heck, in 6-8 months you might get a hit on the prints or ballistic analysis, that’s good for a later stop with a felony misdemeanor.

- And yes, bet the driver didn’t have a D/L or seguros magnum to drive the car his cousin gave him, who borrowed it from some dude for $20 last night either.

Since you're probably not the police, I'll explain. The store only catches a small percentage of the actual shoplifters. Since the risk to reward is small and shoplifters know there will be no punishment for stealing, they continue.

If you know anything about the retail food business, any fresh food items that are found on a shoplifter must be tossed out and cannot be returned for sale. Most shoplifters in food stores take fresh meat or liquor ( which can be put back on shelf). But, most stores do not have security guards and suffer great losses.
