Gee, That Sounded Close!

  • An argument near a South Side alternative high school erupted into gunfire near the CTA’s Sox-35th station when multiple shooters chased two boys down 35th Street, leaving them both dead Wednesday afternoon, Chicago police said.

The confrontation began around 3 p.m. at Youth Connection Charter School at 10 W. 35th St. near the Bronzeville neighborhood, said Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.

The victims, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, ran away west on 35th Street toward the Red Line and Guaranteed Rate Field as the shooters fired at them, Johnson said. Police did not yet know what sparked the argument, he said.
So about 800 feet from Headquarters and 1000 feet from Sox Park. The rumor mill from HQ says that the usual smokers ran back into the building and warnings issued to occupants to be careful if they were headed toward the Dan Ryan and points beyond.

Have a town hall meeting Kidney Bean.... talk to the peoples about restructuring their family to resemble the “nuclear family”— put the dads back in house; we all know the rest.

Just what are they teaching at that alternative school? Must have classes on thugery, dope dealing, Divvy freedom, looting and of course benefits of gang membership and locality.

The headquarters and the human assets contained within have often been considered “soft” targets. Wasn’t there a city employee killed in May 2016 in the Starbucks Café directly across the street from the co-inhabitated (Police/Fire) Ivory Tower headquarters?

It’s funny to see the HQ sworn staffs at Starbucks ordering flavored coffee concoctions they cannot pronounce attempting to appear more sophisticated and smarter the other boss’s dollies. It’s only the best and brightest at 35th Street. When you cannot figure out a 12 hour schedule with a significant staffing gap, it makes you wonder how long one has been “insulated” from actual police duties.

The headquarters security detail has been tasked to conduct post shooting missions in and around the 35th Street command staff playground and designated by importance reserved-just-for-you parking facility. The community policing officers assigned the HQ building are holding a “Take back Our 35th Street” anti-violence march at 1530 hrs. Top command level members will lead the march with 1960’s peace chants in-sync with banging bongo drums and 5 gallon buckets. March organizers will direct this march into oncoming traffic on the Dan Ryan expressway during rush hour to raise awareness. (Hint to organizers-Make sure the command staff is out in front leading the march into traffic. Do us all a solid.)

Uniformed sworn resource officers assigned to 35th Street are highly encouraged to attend. Safety vests are optional. For safety's sake, additional uniformed police officers will be assigned to protect those marching in light of all the violence at the doorstep of the department’s top command nerve center.

CPD has all kinds of personnels assigned to CPICs and Predictive Analysis Units and these double the fun homicide-murders of juveniles happen steps away from ground zero from all this space age advanced “intelligence”, both human and technological. Maybe its time for smarter computers for the deep state bunkers and bifocals for all those spy cameras. And NoDoz pills for the superior strategic situation room nodding off human eyeballs.

If shootings go down with all those police going to and from the big building in their personal and company cars under the watchful eye of London modeled surveillance of all citizens, what can be said for the adequate police response in the forgotten neighborhoods? Truly embarrassing. Its time to re-invent the wheel and think outside the violence zone boxes, y’all.

Put some of the inside flunkies in marked patrol vehicles doing police work sweating fools with Investigative Stop Reports, dispersals, loose cigarette sales ANOV citations, positive community interventions and traffic enforcement protecting all U.S. citizens from all this savagery, chaos and mayhem as citizens reasonably expect police to do, but the command staff has failed to accomplish.

10 W 35th originally was the iiTRi (iiT Research Institute tower). Now called iiT Tower. CFD and CHA have / had office space there. I can't imagine classroom space being affordable. The charter school website mentions a few thousand students and about 20 "campuses" around town. Achievement test scores are pretty awful!

They have 150,000 empty seats. Enrollments down. Why shouldn’t they close some schools. Many are half empty and your blaming Rahm for the shooting
