- A man wanted on murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a man in Mississippi earlier this month was apprehended in Zion Tuesday, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Deshaude Jones, 40, of Ocean Springs, Miss., was arrested by multi-jurisdictional law enforcement teams at a residence in Zion, according to sheriff’s office Sgt. Christopher Covelli.
Covelli said Jones is “a documented street gang member,” and is wanted on charges of murder by the Ocean Springs Police Department in Mississippi. Based on information received by the sheriff’s office, Jones allegedly shot and killed a man Sept. 14 in an Ocean City bar and grill, Covelli said.
Jones was being held Wednesday in Lake County jail on $10 million bail pending extradition hearings.
And a $10 million bond? Wow, you can tell who has a real law-and-order states attorney.

Sheriff Curran is a goof. The first poster was right about the States Attorney but he obviously knows nothing about the Sheriff who is a wannabe CPD Officer. I'll agree that he's a step above lil Tommy Dart but that's a very small step.
Nierheim for Chicago Mayor.
Give that states attorney a wedding dress and let him run for Mayor in Chicago.

Ah, but that will all change once Kwame is elected AG. Cook County justice will become the law of the state. Expect these Lake County guys to be driven from office
So happy to see that the sanctuary word is spreading around the country. The difference in Chicago sanctuary is that it applies to all criminals and their evil deeds. Thanks Rahm, one way to combat the taxpayer flight.

Just because Cook County is a place where political connections can be more important that the law doesn't mean that Lake County is clean.
The out-of-State criminal's problem in Lake County is (1) his lack of long-term residency and (2) he didn't select the right type of criminal activity.
I live in Lake County, and one of my favorite things is seeing snapshots of violent criminal assholes at the moment they find out their bail amount.
He'll probably sue Lake County officials stating that if he was apprehended for that same Mississippi murder in Crook County, he'd be eligible for an I-Bond and a pizza.

If the wanted subject was scooped up in cook county Foxx would have refused to extradite.

Years ago I arrested a guy for shoplifting(!). He said he'd never go back to DuPage county because the last time he got caught there, they held him until his trial.
It didn't stop him from plying his trade in Cook county however.
