I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet on here, but the Commander in charge Cato, has gathered up several small business owners in the 15th district and somehow got them to pay for any officer to attend this years Christmas party. Isn't the average Christmas party ticket like $50-$65, sounds like some sort of ethical issue to me?
Didn't everyone take the Ethics test this year? And wasn't there a question about how city employees cannot accept any gifts with a value of $50 or more? And wouldn't a $50 Christmas Party ticket provided by arm twisting small businesses run contrary to the Ethics rules?

But it's for the retirees lol! What's with these goofy Exempts and their obsession with district Christmas parties? Don't they get the message yet that nobody wants to go to them? Pretty soon they will be forcing gang and tac to attend at gun point.
Cato is following in the footsteps of prior 015 Dist Commander Thanasouras by strong arming businesses for payments.
Cato sure did love parading around the station with that McDonald’s owner. The same McDonald’s that has an overdose “victim” a week in their bathroom. Not only were they laughing about it the next day, the rejects didn’t even visit the kid in the hospital. Keep pulling PCI’s and getting hoodrats numbers, you’re not fooling anyone. Supposedly these are Yemen business men from the area. Ernie took them on a tour of the station into secured areas, as they were scoping out the station some were taking notes. What a dumb ass. He has to do it this way so people will attend, giving away free tickets to p.o.'s and $50 for a guest.
It wouldn't matter if tickets were free for 025. Only people going are front office and CAPS.

I put in my papers over the summer after riding out the medical for a year. I'm expecting everyone in my district to show up and to give me the proper send off that I deserve this December. I've never been to a district Christmas party before so I hope it will be fun.
Besides being divorced three times, I never made any close friends on or off this job. I disowned my only son after he came out of the closet and told me he joined the fire department. So it's not like any friends or family members are going to throw me my own retirement party.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I was never the most popular guy in the districts that I worked in and got ran out of. I never helped anyone else out on this job unless it benefitted me first. And no one probably talked more shit behind their co-worker's backs then I did. Lord only knows how many restaurants I burned out that gave police discounts because I would never leave a tip.
That's what District Christmas parties are all about. Burying the hatchet about snitching to I.A.D. and providing an old timer like myself with one last free meal before I piss away my pension at the casino. So please, when that multiple merit Commander comes to your roll call with hat in hand, tell him you'll buy a Christmas party ticket. It's not for the dumb gold star that never passed a promotional exam, it's for me, you ungrateful pieces of shit. By the way, I also don't want any gang or tactical team officers to show up. Thank you.

Ah, back to the good old days! Somebody might remind the Commander of 015 history. Remember Mark Thanasouros and the way he ended up? History does repeat itself, for those too stupid to know the past.
Holy Shit, you guys are just insufferable. The cmdr is finally able to do something nice for the guys of his district that deal with complete ghetto bullshit all day every day and people are actually going to complain because they received a free ticket to a Xmas party? My gosh. People should be thanking him. No place I’ve been to has ever done that. This Cmdr and his staff were able to get donations and use whatever discretionary funds for his troops to have a nice Xmas party. No different than when they throw officer appreciation days. No reason to try to bring heat on a Cmdr for this. To me it shows that he actually cares about his people.

It’s as bad as merit promoting the highly-publicized Johnson twins. Then one abruptly leaves the dept because of a federal investigation related to social security fraud. Why isn’t the media investigating this? Did he retire with a Cmdr’s pension ? Did Ed open a CR number on him after being notified of the feds investigation ? Was he quietly allowed to retire ?
Sounds like he wants to beef up the attendance of the Xmas party to make him look good. A Xmas / retirement party with no attendance reflects poorly on the Cmdr. A PO can certainly afford a $ 60 ticket. The free tix will probably be distributed to the desk dollies.

Many coppers that retire including myself who recently retired did not attend the "party" when we are done we are done! You notice when you retire how few "friends" you have because you cannot do anything police related that you have done before. For example friend retired went back to 010th district to the tire shop that he says was a "friend" of his,and had a flat fixed if your a copper you know the rest not going to explain what happened after retirement!

Arm twisting small businesses? How about arm twisting officers. In 003 a f/1 sgt who is not on our watch told us in roll call to buy a Xmas ticket or else... Some of us are not tac mission caps front desk... We don't owe you and no we won't get you tss cards. "I'M NOT PAYING $100 FOR NO STINKIN XMAS PARTY" And burn a day on top of the $100? Are you crazy? There is no issue with getting community or business donations to help fund an event IE a district Christmas Party.
I’ve also heard from some of the guys on “Catos Tact Teams” that he is calling for mandatory dispersals every day. Perfect, take the idiots who are still out there making stops and risking their jobs away from policing. Sounds like a quota to me. As well as opening his officers to lawsuits for illegally telling someone they can’t stand on the public sidewalk

I didn't even go to my own "free" Christmas/retirement party. Only attended when "forced" cuz working tact or when I really loved one of the retirees.
Whats with all these parties at Bourbon Street? The same Bourbon Street that called for supervisors because too many officers were congregating during their lunch hour? So I'm sure they'll have a sign up that says "Police Party in back room" And you'll have to walk through a crowd of drunks to get to the room.
