Sessions Parting Shot
The Attorney General tosses one final wrench on the all-too-frequently abused Consent Decree law:
- Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in one of his final acts as the nation’s top cop, curtailed the ability of law enforcement officials to use court-enforced agreements to create change within local police departments accused of civil rights violations.
Consent decrees are often used to enforce an agreement between the Justice Department and a local police department to address a violation of law. They were used more frequently under the Obama administration to resolve civil rights violations by police departments and more broadly modify police practices across the country.
The memorandum, which Sessions signed shortly before President Trump effectively fired him, “provides guidance on the limited circumstances in which such a consent decree may be appropriate” and “limits the terms for consent decrees and settlement agreements with state and local governmental entities, including terms requiring the use of monitors; and amends the process for the approval of these mechanisms in cases in which they are permissible.”

Theatre ? No...not in Chicago. This is all legit. Just like our new governor elect. You show me one person who could knowingly defraud to the tune of 300k and just get off with paying it back. This decree was just used to passify the community.
It is nothing more than an inter office memo suggesting advice. Means nothing. Let's stop thinking like the shit heads did when Obama was elected. That all are problems gonna get solved. Trump has Zero power to institute policy or procedure on a municipal police department. Let it go already. No one has the power to save us but the voters. And as we've seen for the past fifty years or more, that ain't gonna happen.
One of the few disagreements I've had with the President. Replacing Jeff Sessions in intellect and support of law enforcement and protecting American rights will be very difficult.
When you BILLIONS IN DEBT what is another paltry 100 Million. The city can afford anything just ask Rahm to shake the money tree a little harder.
Dream on the decree will be implemented because the community wants it. Sessions memo who cares he is gone, don't need no stinking Sessions memo to tell the community what to do. Can't fix stupid and ALL DEMOCRATIC VOTERS ARE STUPID.
Wow. Who really cares at this point? Illinois has become a political "Blue Hole."
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_hole
Every degenerate and deviant is heading our way. No law, no morals. Our pols are bullies and thieves. Any one fool that dares stand up to them, apparently stands alone.
The is no bottom to the Illinois Blue Hole. Swim for it if you can.
I hope the new Attorney General is as good to the police as the old one was.
Thank you President Trump.
This Consent Decree is nothing but a money scam. TD 9.5 and Madigan want it so they can start handing out contracts to their people and get their kick backs. Just watch and follow the money after it goes into effect. The fact that the low intelligent city resident wants it and it is being sold as reform of the police and to beat up on the police is just a bonus.

May e he will finally give Trey Gowdy the nod.
Chicago is full of stone cold-wild eyed-koolaidian liberals. All their anger is directed toward trump and the police. The democrats have created this mess here. But hey! Let’s march on the trump building! What will they do when their consent decree doesn’t work out? Double down on more failed ideas? More silly marches? Keep voting for the same nincompoops?
Rahm and Madigroin were grandstanding for an obama legacy with their Consent Decree proposal - that will never happen.
President Donald J. Trump needs to rescind the Executive Order 13684 - 21st Century Policing Blueprint and scrap the community trust bullshit and add a little tough cookie dough.
What I don’t understand is way didn’t Sessions just un-recuse himself?
Aside from protocol and fairness aspect of reasonable attorneys and jurists, do you think the Democrats would have done this, considering who was being investigated (on a shame)?
Lynch pulled switch because she was caught with Slick Willie on a jet, otherwise she would have remained active (not under cover) on the Hillary-Comey coverup. That turned out well a played move and causation for Sessions recusal. But again, a snap judgement.
Now the Dimms are going to balk and delay at every USAG nominee.
Doesn’t matter, Senate rules.
Tough Cookie or not, the next mayor won’t be changing SOP on chases, arrests procedures and discipline.
Not for a long time.
Stay Fetal
Off topic but McCarthys gift for dropping out from both the Vallas and...(sssshhhh) Mendoza Camps is the multimillion dollar O'Hare security contracts. He and Ricky Simon have the upper hand and has no yearning what so ever to be Mayor of Chicago.

How about instead of the Obama "presidential center" having a drill rap studio and test kitchen they put in a police and fire academy inside?
with Madigan in power watch for little cline to be promoted to district commander fat phil and eddie are making the phone calls mo money mo money

The recent election showed lots of lazy coppers didn't care to vote. Most from my watch had all sorts of alibis for not voting. Before we blame the communerty for voting Democrats, which is expected, we better check ourselves first!

Ot. Several weeks ago at the retirement seminar the person from the pension board stated the pension wont become insolvent in 2021. Kadt week on dan profts radio show a commentator related it will be insolvent by 2021. Why is there no uproar by union or anybody about this on a constant and daily basis?
Rauner should pardon Van Dyke the ultimate parting shot to Chicago Democrats!

Maybe because the commentator doesn’t know what he is talking about. Go to the Pension Board website and look up the yearly financial stats.
In 2017 when you add the employee and employer contributions along with the investment income , then subtract what the pension pays out in pension, returned pension contributions , administrative expenditures, etc you will see the pension made 257.1 million in 2017 and put its total value to over 3 billion
I understand the fund is underfunded, and watched it for years
Senate bill 777 provides mandatory funding by the city
I’m not naive to the city politics when it comes to ur pension, all I’m saying is it’s not going under in 2021 or even close
