- A 49-year-old man from Alabama was beaten to death Friday night in the South Loop.
Jack D. Richardson was in an “altercation” with a man at 9:50 p.m. in the first block of Ida B. Wells Drive, formerly Congress Parkway, when he was struck multiple times, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Richardson was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died, authorities said.
An autopsy released Saturday said he died from multiple blunt force injuries during an assault. The medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide.
So is Rahm banning fists now? After all, more people are beaten to death with fists and blunt objects in a single year than rifles, which Rahm and Jaybee the Hutt have their eyes on.

The South Loop is a dump. It is seriously getting worse and I would not recommend going to after dark. Which is going to be an issue when its gets warmer and tourist will be leaving the lake front

If the victim was a old man 70, and the offender ie “future victim of the courts” was a younger SouthSide or west side asshole, with a list of arrest from her to Israel— they would not care still. Catch and release — pathetic

The only problem is that whoever did get in would face the same opposition and obstruction as what we are seeing on the federal level. Dropping the City Council from 50 seats to 15? Good luck with that!
I have given that as a good starting point here on this forum (cut down the Aldermen to 20 or 25) for years to cut back waste in Chicago, but no one has taken action on it. It is EXACTLY what is needed and a solid starting point.
Incompetence is well-entrenched in City Government and they are not going to budge if some real reformer gets in. Too many patronage jobs and merit hacks sucking a LOT more money out of the system than what they are worth will be told to "hold the line and vote" for their clout.
It is the perfect time to get out of that system, but you won't. You'll stick with "buying the table or two for the Fund raiser" or just "eating the 20 tickets for $5,000" if you want to keep your job.
Chicago has a bleak future - you heard it here first.

Days of meaningful laws that use to be enforced stopped the day Prickwinkle started to dictate to the Chief of 26/Cal how she wanted the courts to run. And to ensure criminals could get away with only a slap on the wrist Prickwinkle also backed Kim Jong Foxx for State's Attorney. And what was that slogan? To many blacks in jail. Racist? Sad account on her part. I locked up those who deserved it regardless of race. Still, we have to hand it to Kim Jong Foxx. At least she was true to her word. More criminals are getting away with more as more proactive police officers get fired. With the exception of the Chicago Police Department, Prickwinkle has the entire legal system within Chicago tied up. But that might change in February as the sheep go to the poles to vote.
And don't count on the sheep. They won't figure it out. But the rest of you coppers are staring to figure it out. As for the proactive ones, well, risk your career making that arrest as your victim gets very little justice from Cook County's fetal legal system at 26/Cal. And one day you yourself will either be judged or get your partner judged by liberal vindictive know it alls who have never and never will think let alone act on risking their own skin for another human being. AND they will hang you out to dry all in the name of their favorite phrase "police accountability."

There are great witnesses on this one. It was self defense. The real victim was the guy Jack was beating. Sucks for Jack that he picked the wrong guy to f**k with. The victim was doing everything he could to keep Jack out of trouble till Jack beat him long enough. Jack was not a tourist. He was a homeless drunk who had some issues. Jack should’ve sought help for his drinking problem. It’s probably why he was homeless in Chicago.
Of course he was killed there, since the name of the street was changed to Ida B. Wells. The lowlifes that lived in those projects probably now hand on that street. Should've kept it Congress Parkway. This city has totally gone to shit.

When I complained to the alderman about being hassled by the bums by the Jewel on Roosevelt because I’m disabled, I was told they have rights too. This was pat Dowell. Sophia king , a total progressive caucus phony but deep down a friend of Prickwinkle and Cabrini Kim also enables the criminals there. Shevand her dj lawyer husband also do Rahm’s bidding. She is a total hypocrite. This is there voting block. This must all end.
