- The new “parental guidance required” policy at Water Tower Place has been so smoothly implemented and so successful in eliminating “disruptive behavior,” it should be expanded to seven-days-a-week during summer months, the local alderman said Monday.
Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) said the proposed summer expansion would go a long way toward discouraging what has become a perennial problem when school is out: marauding groups of young people harassing, intimidating, robbing and attacking Michigan Avenue shoppers. The new policy took effect Jan. 4.
So why stop with teens? Why not require everyone to have an "escort" to go shopping at Water Tower? Supplied by Water Tower Place of course if you can't afford your own.

She said that every “black” parent has that conversation with their children but not “white” parents they don’t do that.

Why hasn’t it been widely reported that the “parental guidance” policy has been so successful that Dave and Busters has pulled out of their commitment to lease space in Water Tower? I’m sure that the other merchants have to be thrilled with this decision. If you thought it was bad before, can you imagine what Dave and Busters would have brought in?

No argument here, but as far as the alderman and WTP, you are being a little rough on them Ward. Wally and the Beaver think at least they eventually tried a solution instead of putting their heads further down that hole of liberalism in the sand. But it will not mean squat if they do not soon recognize the need to implement the policy all day long, all year long.
