And Another CCL Shooting?

Hey Special Ed? Hey Lightgroot? You better start handing out Deputy Chicago Police Officer badges - these guys are getting it done!
  • A man was shot while trying to rob a 67-year-old man in Avondale Tuesday.

About 3:30 p.m., the 67-year-old man was unloading a vehicle in the back of a business in the 2800 block of West Belmont Avenue when an unknown man between the ages of 20 and 30 years old approached him, police said. The younger man began hitting the man in the head and face before taking his property.

The 67-year-old took out a handgun and fired shots at him, striking him in the lower back, police said.
Anyone want to start an "ammo replacement fund" for all of these fine citizens? Kind of a "Thank You" from the men and women of the CPD?

How about a Legal Defense Fund?

If you do carry, GET CARRY INSURANCE!!!!!
Make sure it includes paying for a lawyer upfront.

And get a good book on what to do AFTER you have to pull out a gun.
Andrew Branca and Masood Ayob are two good sources.

The life you save will be your own.

Help the CCL Holder out. Give him a hand in getting his story straight.
Ask a few leading questions to make sure they were in danger of death or great bodily harm.
If we can't help him by putting criminals in prison, don't put him in prison for defending himself.

Isn't this the goal of community policing, getting citizens involved to take back their neighborhoods. Start teaching the citizens how to shoot the home invaders, rapists etc. instead of that worn out drivel at the beat meetings about locking your doors and turning your lights on to stop Mr. Stranger Danger. Remember the police can't protect you anymore.

these sjw's think its outrageous that police officers have the right to use lethal force in the course of their duties. how long before they make an example out of one of us armed citizens? this ccl business is kinda new here, we are not texas. its gotta make the snowflakes heads explode that a common citizen, a mere serf, can use lethal force on an honor student doing what they do. hope im wrong but i wonder how long before they make an example of some poor schlub just trying to defend themselves. zimmerman anyone? im sure that 400 lb racoon kathleen willis and kabrini kim will be more than happy to destroy some poor ccls life. im the same age as this ccl on belmont and at this age a good beating can be fatal or end up spending the rest of your life in a wheel chair. j.b. has vowed to sign any anti gun laws on his desk and freaks like willis are churning them out daily. join the i.s.r.a. and stay aware and protect your civil right to self defence.

So.

Instead of a "gun turn-in" event, courtesy of the policies of the retard political fucks, now, what will be more helpful is an ammo pantry akin to those lovely "food pantries" distributing free food to the hungry.

Sweet and sour.

Present proofs of legalities, limit 1 box per caliber per month.

Yeah.

No gonna happen.

Oh well.

Anyway.

Probably better for each to keep their business to themselves.

Don't think for a second the politicians haven't noticed. They're down in Springfield in the middle of the night making it harder to get a FOID card and pushing through another law to turn law abiding citizens into criminals.
Another failure by government to take action on the Aurora shooter after months of multiple complaints by neighbors and domestic partners that he unlawfully had a firearm and was threatening people..nothing was done about it.people died and the politicians danced in the blood and found an excuse for the next law. Now you will submit your prints,no more private sales etc. Again we are told this next law will stop all violent crime, prevent crazies from getting a gun, buy the world a Coke and teach it how to sing!
Another law so it looks like we did something and at the same time make it harder for honest people to exercise their rights.
Imagine a place where the Police have had their balls cut off, murder and violent crime is a paragraph on page 30, the justice system is a revolving door and you are discouraged from self defense by another law everytime you turn around. The US Constitution is open for interpretation by local politicians, there is a tax on everything, corruption is open and laughed at and any attempt at open discussion is shut down by accusing you of being an 'ist'. Ask yourself why the thought of a law abiding citizen with a .38 in the nightstand bothers them so much ? Do what you're told, pay your taxes, accept the fact they know what's best for you and the government will decide who gets to protect themselves ..it aint America, it's Illinois.

It makes my day when it starts off reading about a citizen standing up to some thug and taking care of business. It looks like this year they may win the race with the police in cleaning the vermin from the city. If CCL hadn't finally passed in Illinois he would just be another victim of "poverty crime" instead of the hero he is. Good job SIR, Thank you!

Illinois is gonna make it as hard and expensive as they can to stop this. Wonder what they gonna do when FOID is upheld to be unconstitutional? Case is currently making its way through the court system which a judge already ruled it unconstitutional. For some reson i dont see that reported in the media with all the coverage of the new foid law they trying to pass which is the old one on steroids. And nothing personal CPD but if it passes they can go to hell.

Couldn't agree more.

I have no desire to be made an example of, either by being unarmed, or ill-informed about the law and what a CC holder can and cannot do. Which is why as soon as I got my CCL, I took Ayoob's MAG40 class (https://massadayoobgroup.com/mag-40/). They were the 40 most important hours in my 45 years of gun ownership. I also enrolled in a legal defense plan, CCW Safe (https://ccwsafe.com/).

BTW, a comparison of the various plans of CC insurance can be found here: https://www.glocktalk.com/threads/an-updated-comparison-of-the-major-plans-of-concealed-carry-coverage.1743258/

Stay safe, everybody.

Does the city provide any type of counseling for the CCL holder after this traumatic incident. After all that money spent on equipment, training and practice, the thought that he ONLY wounded the assailant must weigh heavily on him.

The only hope is for the supreme court to shitcan all the incremental anti- gun laws the communists new demorats work to impose on the law abiding productive citizens to further their plans of disarming the country. Revisionist history pinko school teachers are guilty. socialist are guilty (and stupid). Media shitheels like those found in print and TV are guilty. Stalin, or some other totalitarian bastard said give me the child, and I'll give you the man. Look around and see what the teachers have done. Man bun wearing snowflake soyboys who think socialism is "cool" egged on by the likes of bill ayers, bernie sanders, etc. The media fruitcakes who glorify all that shit, and more. When the shit hits the fan over the illegal shit done by the former administration, an opportunity will exist to vilify the demorats and all their totalitarian police state bullshit once and for all.

To 04:57 AM - I called out the Tribune on misidentifying neighborhoods, and received a response that they check addresses against the City's database using this website: http://boundaries.tribapps.com/. It does in fact say that 2800 W. Belmont is in the Avondale Community Area and the Avondale Neighborhood subset of that.

And now the creeps in Springfield want to double the cost of your FOID card and then force you to be FINGER PRINTED costing you at least another $150.00 to get your card! The State Police already do a background check to get a card and finger prints are USELESS!!! Just another tactic to take away our 2nd Amendment rights.

Good for old guy, no need to take yourself out of the fight for the sake of politicians that keep ignoring the rule of law.

Does CCSA wants to know if de-escalation measures were initiated by the shooter.
No video- no criminal intent?
The passing feral will always be willing and ready to rely the nonexistent felony approval system in order to commit an armed robbery.
It’s getting worse everyday.

I like to think I live in a safe part of 016 but that doesn’t keep me from carrying just to take out the trash, walking the dog or cutting the grass. Roaming packs of hyena in stolen cars always out and about to help themselves to other people’s property.
Elderly neighbors outside fertilizing the geraniums are being accosted by thug gypsy thieves every few days or so.
Daytime robberies (and shootings) are a result of no manpower, mismanagement of personnel (i.e. more inside than outside).

You never know when a protected violent crazed Cook County alum asshole will come calling.

The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Illinois Fix the FOID bill SB1966 being voted on today will require fingerprints from all FOID holders,no private sales and raises the cost to $20 for five years (currently $10 for ten years) $30 for fingerprint fee when you report to a ISP district and submit and $38 for the FBI background check ( there is currently no waiver for the Police in the bill).
In plain english,if you decide to exercise a constitutional right in Illinois you will report to State Police submit to fingerprinting and pay a fee every five years.
I'm confused, will I need permission, fingerprints and have to pay a fee to exercise my first amendment rights next year ? How much to be allowed my Fourth ? Do I qualify for any of the others ? Have my fingerprints changed since I enlisted in the Military or when I joined the circus and went to the academy ? If my senior citizen neighbor doesn't have the means to report to an ISP district or can't afford the price of buying their rights, should they expect The midnight knock from the expired FOID exempt/merit (EFEM) unit? I have more questions than answers.

The bill demands fingerprints for all FOID card holders, bans private firearm transfers between law abiding citizens, and raises the fee from $10 for 10 years to nearly $100 dollars for 5 years: $20 + $30 fingerprints + $38 for FBI background check. .

Nice concealment there.

You got:

1. Plausible denial.

2. Implied confirmation via plausible denial being expressed.

3. The wisdm to not submit to unconstitutional laws, via you know what you have not done and will not do.

4. A bit of wry humor made it through the serious masking required by the plausibility required to plausibly believe your denial.

5. A hint of snark, another slick element in convincing the plausibilty of your plausible denial.

6. The humility display of exposing yourself to mocking birds by claiming, right from the jump, that you are "beginning to think", always a temptation to the innately lazy mocking birds.

7. Which all adds up to: You strapped up like a warrior!!!!!!

Now, play that last card, the: you were only being sarcastic card.

And good luck policing your brass.

Oh.

Wait.
