Is There a Doctor in the House?

Feeling run down?

Are you cynical about your job?

Have you been having problems accomplishing anything police related?

Congratulations! You might be burned out:
  • Is work stressing you out? You might have an actual medical condition.

The World Health Organization now recognizes "burnout" in its guide as a legitimate medical diagnosis.

The International Classification of Diseases Handbook places it in the section "employment" or "unemployment related problems."

According to ICD-11, doctors can diagnose someone with burnout if they have three symptoms: the patient must be exhausted, experiencing mental distance or cynicism about their work and have problems getting the job done successfully.

Doctors can only diagnose burnout when it comes to work. WHO says it does not apply to other life situations.
Interesting.

Right you are, Tonto.
Doctors, nurses, caregivers, police, emergency
responders all have it and have acknowledged
it. Any stressful job/profession in which the individual
has little or no control over the workload/workflow can
result in burnout. All of these positions require extreme
levels of performance/accuracy, and the individual
involved frequently works as a solo practioner. It's
not your imagination, you are not weak, you are not
worthless, you are BURNED OUT. Please get help!

So can I get some of that there SSI money?????

How about a cannabis card (to go with my bump card) to help me relax?

This country is so out of control. Everyone has a condition, and an excuse for their inability to be a productive member of society.
It really is sickening.

Please use burnout boys and girls for contract leverage.

Take the summer off.

Save your own lives.

Serve and protect you.

Let the community self clean and take all demonrats with them.

God bless you for putting up with all the insanity.

Can I get 75% disability for “Burnout”?

Although not being able to “accomplish anything police related” these days is strictly by choice.

This choice easily made complements of an anti-police society, crooked criminal justice system and a throughly corrupt, compromised and inept city council and police department.

They allowed this to happen, I was just a passenger, along for the 29-and-a-day ride.

Really now?

So we were wrong for wanting to strangle
the shit out of the upright walking POS
who proudly stated to us that he gets a
government check because he has a
"Bad Temper?"

She-yaaaaaaht!

We have bad temper in abundance,
a hostile, anti-social and slightly
misanthropic bent with a vicious streak
a mile wide, verified PTSD AND burn-out!

Gibsmedat!

But pertinent to this thread:

How about a little "transparency"
Madame Mayor and exhume that deeply
buried 2007-2008 CPD Morale Survey
commissioned by your former "Federal
Partner" Jody "j-fled" Weis?

YOU... Have NOTHING to lose
Madame Mayor.

Release it!

You've pledged no allegiance to Ritchie
"The Clown Prince Of Municipal Criminality" Daley.

Right?

You've pledged no allegiance to
Rahm "Sent To Cover-Up Daley's Thievery
By My North Shore/Gold Coast Finance Grifter
Friends To Shield Them From Going to The Federal
Shit-House With Daley" Emmanuel.

Right?

Besides...

The toxic fall-out from the release of
that survey can only help YOU to break
the teeth and jaws of the City Council,
the Chicago Media and best of all, destroy
once and for all, the wholly corrupt exempt
echelon of CPD along with their City Council
sourced clout, interference and protection.

Added benefit?

It will also expose the corrupt influence
of gang/drug cartel funded clergy upon CPD.

Good for you because you famously disdain clergy
more than The Police anyway so it's a win
for YOU Madame Mayor!

And of course a whole new subsidized group of medical specialists will be the only ones authorized to diagnose this horrible debilitating condition.

The prescribed cure? Disability income (formerly known as permanent taxpayer-paid vacation) and the great cure-all, medical marijuana.

Alright thank you doctor for discovering this and covering this condition, lets see that means at least 88% of cpd can be off this summer, and then wait a darn minute lori the alderman are given gold enforcement badges and can carry a weapon, put them to work taking care of their wards. The alderman have enforcement arrest powers, with their staffs they can show us how to patrol and cuddle the constituents, that would be change we can believe in right mayor?

Any time you deal with the general public on a daily basis there's going to be burnout. It's not exclusive to our field. Anyone from police officers, to doctors, to retail salesmen, to waitresses will get it. The general public is mostly made up of complete fucking morons, self entitled asshats, and shitheads who take advantage of others at other's expense. Burnout is very real. That's why you should conscientiously take care of your emotional health. Don't go that extra mile for people every day. Don't bring your work home, leave it where it belongs. Zero fucks given. The dumbasses out there don't deserve your tireless effort.

Burn out, bi-polar, HBP, rickets or scurvy whatever, sounds like another excuse for bad behavior.
I’ll bet a tubman that folks are lining up to use burnout as a reason to hit medical for a Light Duty designation and those are the ones already sitting house mice.
Not that burnout can’t be used against any mental instability which such should affect the gun toting privileges.

Burnout is something that happens when you lose energy. This is holding police accountable for the actions of the public, pending their precious "optics". That's not burnout, that's scapegoating.

Another tool in our toolbox adjacent to the "Blue Flu" tool. Good to know and be ready to use depending on any stressful situations. Remember your safety is your concern.

Society in generally screwed up. Chicago is a microcosm of a screwed up society on steroids. It's called reform.

I’d say at a bare minimum at least 25% of CPD members under the rank of Lt. meet that criteria.

Whats wrong with the medical? Have you seen the older PO’s struggling with knee problems, back issues and ailments in general? Had they put their pride aside and not worried about the crap being said they would have sought out medical treatment and time to heal. Before you start I’ve been on this job and never hit the medical then, I would say you are the one that walks around getting everyone else sick.

Yessiree, burnout is real.

I always thought of burnout as something you do with your car or your brain on alcohol and drugs. I found out it is a real psychological condition when I retired. In my exit interview I told the powers that be why I was retiring their immediate response was "burnout."

I did a little online research and found a test. If you answered "Yes" to one of the questions, you most likely had burnout. I responded "Yes" to 14 out of 15 questions.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE ...
Retirement is a perfect antidote to burnout. Not giving a spit and leaving the feces behind does wonders to your state of mind. Not my f'n problem anymore. I had my turn, time to give someone else their chance. Copulate the world and all that is in it.

Leave the job behind and NEVER look back! Take my word, it is the best thing to do and makes each day seem like a bright new adventure.
