- Whoa, Nelly! Arthur Willis, one of the newly-assigned judges on Cook County’s bond court bench, took a whack at setting bail recently and…WOW! He’s going to be something to watch.
In one of the first cases before Willis last week, three people were charged with Class X felony armed robbery after they allegedly held up and battered a man on a CTA train in the Loop. Class X is the second most serious level of crime in Illinois behind murder.
[...] In court, Willis set bail for Thomas and Goodwin at $2,000, meaning that they can go free by paying a deposit bond of just $200. For a Class X felony allegation. Willis said the two will have to go on electronic monitoring when they post bail.
Well, $200 and a bracelet that works 50% of the time. That will certainly show them!

I went to see my cardiologist at Northwestern. I had my pistol and slipped it in my pants pocket so he could do his exam, EKG etc. He saw me slip the pistol out and said he was supposed to notify security. The dickhead knows I am a PO, I've been seeing him for years. So I didn't get arrested but I had to deal with their security. The dickhead doctor is now my former cardiologist. This was 3 days before the shooting at Mercy Hospital. They only want shooters to have guns apparently.
Judge Evans - You need to have “roll call” for your judges, in the redline tunnels. No robes, no gavels(thats a weapon), no sheriffs deputies. Walk where the common man walks. Or better yet roll call for your disconnected judges at Chicago and State on a Friday night in the summer. Or we will make it simpler, how about you walk into 26/Cal from public parking with all the other shit heads. its good enough for your jurors, it should be good enough for you. I think it was back in the late 1980's that the Miami area had a couple of so called "Rolex Bandits" running around. One of these robbers of Rolex, spied an elderly couple shopping in Coral Gables and followed them home where he knocked the husband to the ground and ripped the Rolex off his wife's wrist. The problem for the "Rolex Bandit" was the man he knocked to the ground was a Federal District Court Judge. At that point the chase was on Metro Dade Police and the U.S. Marshal's Service versus the FBI. Metro and the Marshal's won if my memory was correct. I believe this guy was sentenced by a Dade County Appellate Judge to something like 17 years in jail. The only smart thing he did , was not to use a firearm because ATF and the U.S. Attorney Office would have been waiting for him. Now if one of these bond judges was assaulted and robbed what would....?
