Concealed Carrier Again
We don't know if this story is poorly written or what - it sounds like the two suspects were attempting to use a ruse to get into the home? Why else would you claim to be helping someone into a home you just got shot at?
- A concealed carry holder shot a man Monday who told police he was trying to help an acquaintance who was locked out of a home in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Around 8:40 a.m., a 20-year-old man was trying to help an acquaintance get inside their home in the 8900 block of South Lowe Avenue when a 34-year-old woman in the building saw someone trying to get in and shot the man, police said in a media notification. The woman has a valid concealed carry license, police said.
The 20-year-old man was taken Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park and then transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was stabilized, police said.
You don't need a CCL to carry in your own home, so that part doesn't make sense either - we attribute that to ignorance on the part of the writer.

Nope. He actually lived in the building & concealed carry lady was just visiting. OOPS
It's the norm now a days, unfortunately.
Looks like the tide is somewhat turning.
The more CCL shootings the better.
Word of mouth alone won't stop Dude Inc.
But back in the hood, it is more honorable
to be shot by the police than a private
citizen. It's a Dude thing. Equivalent to
stealing a vintage 1970s Zenith color TV.
Anything that results in the intruder/perp
being shot is not poorly written. It's the
thought that counts.
What did a CCL license have to do with the story, other than they hate the thought of people bring able to protect them selves.
Thoughts and prayers for the poor innocent permit holder.
Defend yourself. The Courts and States Attorney will never defend you.
Javonte Anderson. His bias was more important than his grammar. Where do they get these “journalists” now? Do they even go to school? The articles I’ve been reading lately aren’t even coherent.
"You don't need a CCL to carry in your own home, so that part doesn't make sense either"
It makes perfect sense, actually. It is all a part of the liberal leftist media's agenda to discredit lawful gun owners and cast them in a bad light.
Why didn't the guy that lived there, and would be recognized, go through the window?
First, don't say perp.
Second...
Kees me you fool!!!!
Sounds like a bullshit story on the part of the guy who was shot. But unless the news article isn’t telling us the whole story (which would not surprise me) the CCW holder was out over her skis on this one. This should have simply been a 911 call for burglary in progress and then taking up a defensive posture.
I’m “Monday Morning” this now, but I need to remind myself that I cannot simply shoot someone for doing something stupid on my block (e.g breaking into cars, etc.)
The truth again is the lives you save may be someone you love,or your own life, the animals are feral and the police cannot do much if anything, your home is your castle, your family is your heart.
Ignorance on the part of the writer? I call it systematic disillusionment of the public! The media is negligent and has lost the perspective of a free and honest press with integrity!!!
Story is very poorly written and grammatically incorrect all the way around. Javonte needs to learn some basic English grammar such as "singular" vs. "plural" (acquaintance is singular, "their home" implies both subjects lived in the home, but that would make them a little more than acquaintances). Does the Trib not have editors?
Papers have drastically cut staff, so some brilliant
MBA said we don't need proof readers because we
have spell check. Yeah, right.
Weather; whether
Too; to
Write; right
Tare; tear
Oops sorry dude.
You have to understand the papers are written so an eight year old can understand them. Who needs good grammar or is it whom.
