On her interview with John Kass, on WGN radio, she stated she was not aware of the problems on the Red Line. Really? There's a propaganda TV show about it now! She will be looking into the problems now LOL!

Remember a couple of years ago when the red line was shut down for repairs? It was a relatively quiet summer downtown because the criminals did not have easy access to their victims.
She's been in office two weeks and I'm trying to imagine if we would've been better off with Preckwinkle.

I heard this radio broadcast. she said she was shocked about hearing about crime on the red line that bring all the criminals from south to pillage, rob and steal and rape in Lakeview and in tax paying neighborhoods Really? She is shocked and didn't know this!? Its been going on years and she pretends like she never heard this before. HA ha. What a corrupt politician already!!!
I dare Lori to stand at the Belmont Red Line at the commencement of the next gay pride parade coming up in the next few weeks. In fact, someone should film what this location looks like from 2 pm to 4 am on the last Sunday of June at the BELMONT red line station. Its something you can't even imagine. It would really wake a lot of people up, minus the typical liberal criminal loving constituent.
The cta red line, Howard to 95th & prior Englewood & Jackson Pk has been on the skids since the early 1960's. All you have to do is read about it in the news which is daily or ride it if you are daring. How long has Lightfoot been in the city? For her to say she is unaware of the problems indicates she is unqualified for her job. I think she is just lying and the next four years will be more of the same liberal progressive snowjob!

I listened to the entire interview as well, either she is lying her ass off or just plain ignorant, I'll let everyone make up their own minds on that.
I am not a cop, but became a huge fan of this website a few years back. I am astonished (perhaps I shouldn't be) that she hasn't been in the office more than a month and is alienating the force already. Her pointing the finger at police and holding them accountable for the violence takes the cake.
You men and women are paid enough to deal with all the complete and utter bullshit that the city bestows upon you. Thank all of you for what you do, and most of all please be safe.
I was in Detroit recently. Had a brief conversation with a black teenager. He talked about how dangerous the Red line in Chicago is. Told me his brother had his pants pocket cut with a razor to steal his wallet. So kids in Detroit talk fearfully of the Red line but the mayor of Chicago knows nothing.

Speaking of Lakeview, and I know I work in 19 so I really don’t have much to complain about, or didn’t anyways, but how did we get stuck with this goof swat guy as commander? We go from a great boss to this dummy? I know that he was part of the cheating lieutenant scandal, but he’s really out of touch with what happens in Patrol. Was he Eddie’s workout buddy or something? Are they trying to keep him quiet about the cheating? OK, lots of questions, I suppose after 15 years I should know this place doesn’t make sense sometimes.

There are a few people waiting in the wings for the next mayoral election to take Lori on.I suspect that she will not have such a successful term in office. The media loves her, but she is an idealist and that just will not work.Idealists can demand all that they want, the top heads of government will nods their heads and give the marching orders to the underlings, and what do you think will happen then? The underlings, way too smart and knowledgeable will not jeopardize their livelihoods and freedoms for failing idealist schemes without the backing of the leaders.Wait until the new civilian police review board and new superintendent come into existence later this year. That will be the end of policing in this town for a generation. It is already dead in Portland and Seattle and well on its way in NYC.
In the same interview she said that she can't trust police brass to give her acurate numbers on crime so she will get her numbers from Hey Jackass.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pregnant woman was attacked by a man on a CTA Red Line train near the Addison stop Wednesday night, Chicago police said.
Police said the 25-year-old woman was on a northbound train near the Addison station at about 11:11 p.m. when a man punched and kicked her.

A woman was stabbed to death and a man was taken into custody Thursday in a midday attack on the CTA Red Line that police described as a domestic dispute.
Well she better educate herself pronto on this. Go ahead Mayor and stand at the Belmont station in the evenings especially on hot weekends and see what disembarks from the trains. Go try and spend an enjoyable evening at the beach or Millennium Park with your family and see what entrainment you encounter.
