Prayers for the families; they suffer deeply from the hopelessness and loss.
Cognitive dissonance: refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance.
A disconnect, a short-circuit in the mind resulting from what you believe to be Right and what you are forced to do. The way the World is supposed to be vs the onslaught of increasing depravity.

Things can get pretty rough at times the average Joe on the street hasn’t a clue of the internal battles some have. This work often takes a toll on family life too. The things that helped me stay sane was a close relationship with my God, and totally walked away from alcohol. The demons still rear their ugly head at times, but they’re more easily beat down.
Take note, if you find yourself hating the job, or dreading to go in, get the hell out. Go drive a truck, move, maybe find a smaller department or whatever. Life is too short. Theirs plenty of options. Take care of number one and don’t be a statistic.

This is almost equivalent to the veterans suicide epidemic,
where we know that about 22 each day reach the point of
despondency. Trump is pro LE and he will respond to a
sincere outreach. This of course will reveal the underlying
problems endemic in all departments.

These mayors should be given psychological testing
just like the police because there are quite a few out
there that have a saviour complex. Inclusive Bill needs
to repent. He has a documented Lefty past, having

Very sad. The 62 year old chief was being forced into retirement because of his age. Some people only have this job and cant face life without it. That's really sad and to this day there are
still men and women who stay on until they are 63 and forced to retire. Those people we need to really be concerned with. They cant face life without this job. Remember people , it's just a job! Go enjoy life!

Lets face it, it appears that police suicides is a growing epidemic that society must face. The first thing to happen is that society must recognize this as serious health issue. The second thing that should occur is that all national law enforcement organizations should join forces with the medical field and look for some answers. Thirdly, I think that the departments should go all out and encourage its members to seek help if help is needed. There should be a change of attitude regarding the stigma of seeking help and having ones career endangered by coming forward. Last but not least if a Officer comes forward this should be PRIVATE AND NOT USED AGAINST THE OFFICER IF HE/SHE IS SUED.

Do not live to work, but work to live. Get a hobby, gardening, collect coins, stamps. Extra activities like some martial arts, tennis, play chess, whatever to get your mind somewhere else. do not focus everything on your job. No one is immune from the shit that we encounter every day. It will, affect all of us. Some have better coping skills than others. If you are in bad relationship, leave.
RIP to our brothers out east. This is a dirty shame that needs to be addressed. But I agree with the previous posters that it goes right on script with the goal to demonize and destroy our police for this “left of Lenin utopia”. Guys like Wilhelm deblosio in NYC know exactly what they’re doing.

This is happening with way to much regularity, the police are being using as pawns bastardized constantly by the media and the elected scum that infest the offices. I almost pulled the trigger about 5 months ago after retiring in 2015. Thank God I didn't because people I never even dreamed of gave a shit. Thank you Lord, thank you my brothers. I DO have a reason to carry on.

AS an aside, check out Murder in the Park on Netlfix - highly recommended. CPD Dets stand up and it is clear the Porter's conviction should have stood. MULTIPLE real witnesses. MULTIPLE. Watch it ... you'll be ABSOLUTLEY disgusted. Fuck the John Burge class at CPS there should be a class on this. PORTER was feared by the entire neighborhood because he was so nuts. Witnesses were not picking blindly from a lineup they knew it was Porter from even before the murders. Northwestern Center for Wrongful COnvictions straight out lied on news conferences. Theres a lot here. Wathc the show.
