Unseen Photos
- Archivists who bought a stash of CDs at a house clearance sale found 2,400 photos of Ground Zero in New York taken following the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
They appear to have been taken by an as yet unidentified construction worker who helped to clear up the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers and surrounding area.
The CDs were in poor condition but the data was ultimately retrievable.
The photos can be seen at this link here. Some are blurry, some are repetitive, but all hint at the scale of destruction that many can't even begin to comprehend.

And who will care for first responders and clean up crew
They answered the call, now Washington doesn't know them
Shame on America
We take care of our own, yeah right
And it took how long to kill OBL?
House clearance sale.... wonder how the photographer's health is? Clean up workers were pretty much bathing in asbestos and silicates.
Deploy,,patrol,,stay on watch
We will never forget
Go
Look
Weep
Wow, brought me to tears, again.
Heartbreaking
Chilling...........
Good stuff I hope the owner shared them with the Smithsonian. They can be cleaned up
to look perfect.
Just like our Vets those first responders are getting screwed by our fo nothing government.
Bookmarked. Thanks for finding these SCC.
They WILL be shared on my FB & Twitter pages later today.
an aside: On 9-11 I was on my way downtown w/a co-worker, we both had meetings on Construction Sites, mine was for a 'smallish' 20 story High Rise. We were still in the car when the report of the 1st Tower getting hit by a plane. When the 2nd Tower came down, my co-worker dropped me off and I was at my meeting in a 'double-wide' Office Trailer.
Not claiming to be smarter than anyone, I did immediately think of Terrorism when that 1st plane hit and even said my 'hunch' was Osama bin Laden was behind it. Pretty much thanks to Clinton being a pussy after the USS Cole was attacked, sailors getting killed, and him doing nothing.
Anyway, not knowing what the f--k was really going on, and even though this was a 'small' High Rise, the Construction Site was closed down and everyone told by the GC's Super -- Get Off The F--king Site NOW!!
Next time you get a 911 call from a politician's office or residence, remember how they treat first responders (especially how they shit on police officers) and remember that they believe illegal immigrants (they're all criminals by being here) and gang bangers come before you. They deserve the same kind of treatment they give first responders.
NEVER FORGET, how many people have forgotten that tragic day? ♠️
Heros of the clean up.Real Americans will always honor the brave first responders. Never forget.
The sad thing is a majority of Americans already forgot about this or don’t give two shits about this sad day in history.
It's a crime they sent those first responders into that building before demolition. The engineers and architects all agree was a controlled demolition.
It is disrespectful of the fallen first responders to not tell the truth about the circumstances under which they were murdered.
Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth is an American non-profit organization that proved a controlled demolition took place, disputing accepted "Official" conclusions around the September 11 attacks, including the 9/11 Commission Report, as well as FEMA's "WTC Building Performance Study".
If they can read the properties or metadata of the individual files, they may come across added information. Some phones and cameras added a lot of unsecure details when you snapped photos. Maybe that will help.
Looking at these photos get me choked up. All the lives we lost that horrific day. I will never forget! We were so unified as a nation and once this faded into history we are now fighting and bitching about everything. What happened fo standing up four our country and its values. Especially the rule of law!
truly amazing that the death toll wasn't twice what it was and also unbelievably amazing is despite the enormous unprecedented destruction is the fact that we as a people were actually able to clear up the site and repair and rebuild. That's America for you! I was there not that I'm anybody but just looking at these photos and remembering my own memories it's amazing and my heart still goes out for the dead and their families and all those who have since died of post 9/11 illness including over a hundred New York City firemen alone beyond the 343 who were lost that day.. "Some people did something." yeah they sure did ...And we lick our wounds and go on with our way of life. The terrorists failed and always will fail. God bless America...NEVER FORGET!!
9/11 - We Have Forgotten.
- America 2019
By the people, for the people.
"Cleaning them up" would reduce the historical value.
You don't think this construction worker was nervous taking
those photos? Security could have said WTF and bounced
him from the job. Someday those generators will look like
steam shovels from the 1930s. Quiet, cordless generators?
Get the fuck outta here.
They should be incorporated into the historical section
of the new tower. This guy died to record history. God
only knows what he saw and did not photograph.
The religion of peace. Some people did something. And now people like Omar are getting elected to Congress.....Was wondering as others here have how many people in those photos are still alive after exposure to who knows what in that destruction. So many heroes.....Inept politicians will carry on, probably have another event like 9/11 someday. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Thanks for posting this link.
Those twin towers were built in the era of asbestos insulation. It explains all the respiratory problems the first responders and construction cleanup crews suffer decades later.
Thank you for sharing these. No where else have I seen the photos mentioned or shared. I remember the day clearly, even here in Chicagoland. I remember the clear blue skies, the never ending television coverage, the rolling mass of dust, dirt and dead people shown on TV. I remember the loss of Fr. Mychal Judge. I remember the air silence for days after ward and my spouse having travel home on the City of New Orleans train. But I never got a full and clear perspective of the massive amount of damage and destruction until I viewed these photos. One hopes all who died are at peace but those who are dying as a result of trying to help, they need our support. Thank you again, I will share this link. It's bizarre to think about, but similar to Pearl Harbor or OK city, there is already a generation to whom this is nothing but a story.
