Good Lord

  • For the eighth time this year, a New York City police officer has died by suicide, two police officials confirmed to ABC News.

The officer, who was not immediately identified, died just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday in Yonkers from a single gunshot wound to the head, the officials said.

The officer was assigned to the 50th Precinct and was part of the security detail at Yankee Stadium. He had been on the force since July 2012.

This marks the eighth NYPD suicide this year. Four NYPD officers died from suicide in June, one died in July, and two others took their lives earlier this year.
At this point, there almost certainly cannot be a single officer on the NYPD who hasn't been touched by these tragic events. If you have friends or acquaintances there, it may be a good time to drop them a line, give them a call, check in and let them know they're in your thoughts during this horrible year.

Sitting alone in the dark all by yourself is a horrible way to die. The help is there, reach out and get help or get someone else help.

A charlatan changes his name to garner votes
and cover his radical past. He gains the trust
of the population only to betray them. Worst of
all, he betrays the police, declaring they protect
and serve his sanctuary city. Like a house divided,
contrived internal attrition tears at the soul of the
department. Knowing that there are other dystopian
enclaves across the United States adds to the
feelings of alienation.

You put on your uniform and you dread going to work, the hatred from people is overwhelming, then having to deal with moron merit bosses, who have never done a thing on the job, who micro manage and mess with you every day , day in day out.The threat of getting jammed up by some goof that responds to you’re job, or whom you’re stuck working with, even though you beg and plead not to work with them. The threat of not getting your pension, or getting injured on the job or even killed.Going to Headquarters and dealing with goofs at the medical section, and watching the connected clouted tactical barbies walking into the building carrying there Starbucks coffee, knowing they never worked midnights or stepped foot into the projects, the hatred from the mayor everyday on television towards CPD , or the stone faced puppets standing behind the worst superintendent in CPD history, if he worked for a company he would have been fired long ago, the suicides are only going to get worse and worse!!!!

There were a couple of times I actually took my gun and held it to my head. I really just wanted all the pain to stop, but I thought of my family and what a terrible life sentence of grief that would be for them. I eventually sought sought counseling which I really did not want to do, but there was no other way out of the darkness. Even if the thought of counseling sends you reeling give it a chance. Your insurance will pay for it. Please, if you're stuck in the darkness, think of me. I was there and came out on the bright side. Think of our brothers and sisters who've lost their lives in the line of duty who had no choice. You have a choice. Take it. It's not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength to reach out. Please.

Not sure why this is happening to so many. But being a police officer anywhere is an impossible job. But being from a big Democratic city it makes it even more impossible. These big cities have a hard time finding people who want to take the job. These cities are desperate to find enough replacements for the large masses of retirements. The screening process is compromised with the need to fill spots. Once you become a police officer and start working the streets things become very real and stressful with the duties and responsibilities of the job. Even though many citizens support you and know that they need you they are busy in their daily lives to have the voice that police haters have. The haters have the media that beats the anti police drum. So your a new police officer and work odd hours irregular shifts and miss many family events. It's hard to adjust from the life you had as a normal person. Now you have the ultimate power of being able to take a life if needed. That's too much for some to handle and unfortunately they loose focus on their lives and not seek help. My prayers go out to all police officers and to those who took their lives. So sad!

The common theme seems to be democRATic administrations in democRATic cities. The ‘RATs talk a good game, but the last thing they want to do is spend money on mental heath care. there are no kick backs in it. Just look a CPD. Instead of providing city paid (not from our medical plan) access to doctors and counselors, they rely on EAP.

RIP officer, condolences to the entirety of the NYPD.

If any other profession was the subject every night of negative reports in the first 15 minutes of EVERY newscast there would be similar sad outcomes. It’s so pathetic that a Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren has once again trotted out the racist lie that was the Michael Browns attacks against an Indian store owner and unfortunately Officer Darren Wilson. Media is doing everything it can to cause racial divisions leading to a racial civil war and the toll of this and of the stresses of seriously short staffed departments has caused most departments to have massive amounts of burnout and PTSD. God bless this officer and prayers for his family and “Brothers in Blue.

Ralph Papa Thorson Says:
Now here is a nationwide problem that politicians are partially or fully responsible for, basically because they have no money to properly address this serious problem, and the reason for that is because they have been so busy for years stealing our taxpayers dollars. I understand their priorities. Ripping us off and screwing people in need of help and all sorts of ways. These greedy bastards Will never be satisfied and they can and will take every dime out of our pockets and bleed us dry without hesitation
. They are no fucking good. When will decent people everywhere get this through their thick skulls? No money to help our officers with emotional problems that are in need. Just raise our taxes over and over and over so they can bloviate a lot in line their pockets with our dollars

Not surprising.

I told my kids I’d rather see them drive Uber then be the police.

Obama destroyed policing.

Fuck Barack Hussein Obama , May his soul be hell bound and know no rest.

Maybe if Michael Brown would have attacked the kind of Indian store owner that she thinks she is, maybe Elizabeth Warren would chanting a different tune to the Great Spirit.
