New Dart Scandal
And Dart is throwing everyone he can under the bus to deflect the blame of this one:

So Dart approved a field trip for inmates to Navy Pier earlier this month. Repeat felons met up with family members and were allowed to walk around certain areas without direct supervision, along with tourists and citizens out for a nice day trip, many of who were noticeably shocked at prisoners wandering around in leg irons and handcuffs.
Guess how much extra contraband made it's way into the jail?
Jail isn't supposed to be a nice time. Otherwise people (and folks) might get the idea that it's fun to spend time there.

Truth is many tax paying Families with Children cant afford a Family Day outing at Navy Pier but are the ones paying for the " less fortunate " and now paying for convicted criminals(WTF) fun day outing on the Pier. As if the murder,violence,corruption and chaos hasn't destroyed the quality of life in Chicago and Cook County, leadership finds ways to continuously make it hopelessly worse.Its so wrong,its so pathetic,its so evil.

Citizens including Children going to and from school and Seniors going to the Doc or for groceries cannot safely walk the streets because of the out of control violence and criminals that are allowed to surround and prey on Us ,but yet now Cook County Chicago has convicted criminals that are serving jail time escorted to Navy Pier for a "fun field trip" by Police Officers?? Whats next ? How soon before they go unescorted?This is a HUGE WTF if its true. How about Police Officers escorting the Children and Seniors instead and leaving the criminals in jail for the time theyve earned? This isnt safe or a good idea for anyone so much can go so wrong.Our Police Officers That have and Serve with so much Dedication,Courage ,Bravery , Life Saving Training ,Skills and Knowledge that are Appreciated and much Needed throughout so many struggling Communities now have to escort the convicted criminal from the jail to Navy Pier for a Tax Payer funded field trip and back to jail?Does the warden come in to tuck them in and kiss them goodnight? If one inmate fell into the water and drowned - Cook County would be sues and our taxes would pay for it. Stupid idea. No cable, pizza or field trips - prison should be HELL. It will encourage people to stay out. Give all prisoners a bible and no TV.
I know Lightfoot is not well liked here but she even was even furious over this. Rumor from my sibling/in the know, is she called the Sheriff's office and went ballistic over this. Something must of happened cause it was the kids Field Museum on Navy pier. Hopefully it was just complaints by parents and nothing worse happened.

I don't go to Navy Pier for anything, but if I were there with my family and this started, I'd leave and demand a refund.
Is Kass still holding water for his pal Dart? Read his interesting article last week about how Dart has 100 officers working E.M but violent offenders are missing committing new serious crimes. Kass gives Dart complete cover, exclusively blaming the three black politicians Evans, Preckwinkle, and Foxx for the EM disaster. I thought it was a great read until it dawned on me that these inmates are under Dart's supervision and in fact several years ago he/Dart blasted Judge Evan's for not giving more inmates release. Evans did exactly what the Sheriff asked for and now he gets blamed for the Sheriff's failures of his duties. Kass also wrote that Dart "only" has a 100 officers tracking a few thousand inmates on release. Im not in law- enforcement but shouldn't 100 officers working 8-10 hr shifts be able to tract that many inmates especially considering most are in compliance? But when all else fails blame the black politicians for your own failures!

Who paid for travel and security? Were the proper authorities (CPD) notified of the potential security risk? Were there writs completed for this trip? What was the purpose and criteria needed to participate in this outing? Are there any trips planned in the future, trips that may place the public at risk by allowing individuals that have convinced a judge based on the evidence, constitution, and laws passed by legislators, that there is probable cause to keep these individuals confined, away from the public. Just a few questions someone needs to answer, if this story is true.
I think field trips would be a great thing to do for our very own felons. Maybe the CCR, Mayor’s office or even the Slum-Times. And don’t forget to stop for confession at Very Reverend Fater Fluger’s church of the folks. What a perfect day to be a criminal in Chicago.
The only time an inmate should be allowed out is it their sentence is up or if they're on a Chain Gang cleaning up shit on the side of the road, guarded by a few officers with loaded 12-gauge shotguns in case they run

In addition to being a welcoming county for illegal aliens, we are a shaming-free county for all. Shaming hurts one's self-esteem and it looks terrible on a resume. All excellent questions. I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, Cook County doesn’t have any politicians who are capable of critical thinking.
As someone who had a female co-worker have filthy remarks said to her after an inmate dropped his pants and exposed himself during a lock up interview, and was then discouraged from pressing charges “because nothing is going to happen to him anyway”, this field trip does not surprise me at all.
These people are hardened criminals. Dart’s letting them run the show, and at some point this nonsense is going to blow up on him big time.
Were they served Dart pizza for lunch?
Was Kimmie along as a chaperone?
Is Mike Brady still fooling them at the Sherriffs office ?
Is Snooks still in charge of the masterbation squad?
