Dumb Idea
We know the commander of 007 is in over his head, but this is extremely not smart:
- You wont believe what the bright headed commander of 7 is forcing officers to do. Take out personal vehicles on fixed posts. there arent enough cars and radios so hes telling the LTs to tell the first line of defense to take out their own cars and post them up on posts in the 7th district. so whose paying for gas or damages if one of these shitheads throw a brick at our windows? what happens if theres a 10-1 and we need to ride? none of this makes sense. did 35th st or uncle lori not figure any of this out? is there nothing we can do to fix this or stir a beef up? I cant imagine area south doesnt have pool cars for us to take. this is horseshit. time and time again, the white shirts dont mind abusing their backbone of the districts. Whats worse is this POs are actually taking their personal vehicles out. i refused too.
Aren't there rental vans? Aren't there CTA buses? If the boss wants you on post by a certain time, it better be via city transportation, insured and indemnified by the city. Anyone taking a personal car to a fixed post needs to be reminded exactly what's what by the FOP rep and FOP.

Call MLAS immediately. Their insurance doesn't cover them for business use, and city insurance won't cover their personal vehicle. Tell that commander to pound sand.
Lol what someone get a bullshit ticket going to their spot? Maybe that’s the least of their problems
NOONE can make you take your personal vehicle out. Your personal insurance will not cover it. Or you can pay the deductible and rate increase if it is somehow covered. Dont be stupid and listen to bosses like this
FOP...Do Your Job.
1st of all why is anyone dumb enough to take their own car?
And why has nobody contacted the FOP????
CTA Charter bus after roll call has always worked. Are the new exempts so new they don't know this?
Don’t take your personal car. CTA to your spot, or get dropped off and picked up by another car. If you get whacked while you’re on your way to your post, the city isn’t going to fix your car.
FOP get off your Pritzker sized fat asses and raise hell over this. Presidents are being set. Is this the new way of doing business. Even Groot and Special Ed aren't that stupid are they to allow the numb nuts Commander to get away with this. This is dangerous in terms of officer safety, family safety and operational security. There are liability and insurance issues to officer's POV's and responsibility for damage and theft of vehicle.
If your going to put additional people on the street you are required to give them to tools to do their job. FOP get your asses moving on this NOW.
And I bet all of did it because there is no spine amongst coppurs
It’s against General Orders.
Not enough cars! That’s his problem. Call the FOP. Do you really want the bad guys to get pictures of your car. Maybe the same car that you use with your family on your off time.
Take the bus or walk there. Have another unit drop you off. Is that really a good idea to have a foot guy on a neighborhood street while the bad guys are driving around in cars. Bad guys are mobile and your just standing around.
Unbelievable!
Please notify FOP of this immediately. Its against department rules!
There's only one thing to do, start having your wives drop you off.
Maybe they could use the leased Nissan Sentras with no emergency equipment they gave to the dics in the areas. This organization is a joke. God forbid one of these Nissans get mistaken by these gang bangers as the opps and some coppers get lit up. There is nothing emergency related that can be accomplished by the guys driving these shitboxes, even better is that by saving a few dollars the powers that be managed to further reduce the effectiveness of the sworn law enforcement personnel driving around some of the worst neighborhoods in the country.
Just go out to Victory Auto Wreckers out in the suburbs. I’m sure that they will give some bait cars and the CPD Officers will not need to use their personal vehicles with this BS.
Sincerely,
Richard Johnson
FOP who?
Who is seriously dumb enough to actually use their own POV...? This is the biggest problem with us. No one will band together collectively and tell these bosses to pound sand. What are they going to do? Write everyone up? Suspend everyone at once? One giant grievance will end that one. They’ve also done this in years past too. I remember around 2013/2014, they were having the PPO’s drive out to their Safe Passage spots in garbage areas.
Bwahahaha! Why are we not surprised. Same thing every Labor Day weekend. The bosses cancel RDO’s and throw extra officers on the sheets...but they know ahead of time we won’t have enough squad cars or police radios. The Lt’s in the 12th District were trying to make officers walk to the Blue Line. Why? Such a pathetic waste of resources and time. They do know the Blue Line has limited service on weekend nights right? Where are the keys for all the CAPS and Foot Post cars? This department is beyond dysfunctional and the blame lies with the white shirts. It’s Clown World. {Honk Honk} but it’s not funny anymore...
Forget the gas or damage to the cars, that's nothing compared to the lawsuits that YOU will be responsible for when the ghetto lottery revs up its wheel.
By you I mean YOU, not your insurance company, as most policies have an exclusion for using your car for work. And just this posting, which is discoverable, will give "ammo" to the cop haters and their lawyers. Just like the old days when the old South State Street bus route had an accident with 5 passengers aboard and 15 showed up at the ER. Potentially there's more money, and less risk, in that idea than the usual dealing in women, drugs or weapons. An entire generation of people who wont have to, as opposed don't want to, work.
Living under a bridge will be you and your family's future if someone sues, and you just know....
I don't know who's the obama who came up with this but it has to be the most insane idea I have heard in my 65 years of living.

Talk to the FOP rep. The rep can bring it to the attention of management and the commander. Then management can threaten him, insult him and try to provoke him into a fight. If that doesn’t work, management will falsify witness statement that state the rep was out of control.........so the cycle repeats itself. Get rid of these fucking clowns already
Holy Shit?!?
I thought you would need an IQ of at least 40 or higher to become a political exempt rank member.
Refusing to take your personal cars is the absolute right thing to do, where do they get these morons.
Lack of cars has been an issue in 007 for months. Remember that “strike” a few months back? Third watch cars are taking domestics at midnight while first watch cars are telling the zone “waiting on keys” almost two hours into their tour.
If working in 007, and assigned to a park then you are required to take your personal car. If this is the fix post your talking about then it's been like this for many years and before this current 700. Anything outside of this...then 700 is pushing beyond the limits.
007 used to be a great place to work clientele aside. D. Robinson is over his head. Why should a certain watch work longer than other watches in the same district? POs on the watch raised questions after CompStat if Lemmer had an issue with a certain watch hitting the streets over an hour after roll call. We were encouraged to keep up the good work and get those all important ISRs on the beat.
School officers report to the district in the morning then take their personal cars out to the schools... if you don’t want to take your personal car that you can sit in then enjoy sitting out in the rain all night on your feet on the fixed post. Go out, sit in your car and make easy money.. stop complicating your life.
Just rent one of the scooters and ride it out to your post. About half way there smash into something and go IOD until easter rolls around next year. Extensive soft tissue damage takes forever to heal.
This Dept is nothing but a joke. Incompetent people running this shit show and only getting worse...somebody (FOP) hello?? better start speaking up. I would tell them to go pound sand if they think im going to use my own car for "Official" police work!
Any Lt that repeated that order should be demoted tomorrow and their sponsor for meritorious Lt should be fired for stupidity. Dumbest thing I've heard in a while.
I have not been at this lunch location in 008 for more than 30mins. Check the gps LOL. Yo Sgt, would you like to write me up and document the order you gave me LOLOLOL.
Why not rent one of those electric scooters?
The commander could put them all on his credit card!
Officers taking Uber it's too funny!
Shame on you who do so for not knowing when to stick up for yourself when told to bend over and spread em. If you’re stupid and foolish enough to say yes I have no sympathy for you and neither should anyone else
Where are all the take home vehicles why can't we use them? Make them take Uber home!

Accidentally leave your body cameras on?
Just make sure you state you are going to record some notes if everyone doesn't mind.
If you are stupid enough to follow the illegal order then you richly deserve what ever is coming to you. Man up stop being owned.
Perhaps a Divy bike or motorized scooter would suffice, slap a couple of cpd stickers on and off you go Ranger...
I got a feeling you were looking for a car to sit in, instead of standing at your post all night. You were probably told to take your personal car for that because we don't have enough squads.
Maybe I'm wrong, but there's always something more to the story, especially with the rumors spread here
Turn your body cams on and ask him to repeat what he said or ordered.
A lot of foot guys used to put their own cars near their posts to suit their purposes. Nowadays, it is not worth the risk.
A police department that doesn’t have enough cars or radios for its police officers? Talk about running a department into the ground - WTF
Guess they didn't learn from the ppos car that was stolen on the first day of foot patrol in 13.
He didn't start that, been going on in 7 before he got there
I hear the creative new use of personal vehicles is spreading to other Departments: CFD Paramedics are low on meatwagons and they are haveng them drive their personal pickup trucks to transport the sick and injured. Hopefully it won't rain as not all the pickup truck beds have caps.
Honk Honk
Never take your personal car. That being said, most coppers would rather take their personal cars than walk to their post or take the Green Limousine
It is OK if you take your personal car to the Cardinal's home. But not recommended to a routine assignment in 007.
Did this in 90s.Another Footman notoriously took his car out and sat in it eight hours in cold weather. His career revolved around wasting gas and putting wear into the engine of his personal vehicle while wearing a uniform and a gun belt. I took CTA coming and going allowing ample time. Sometimes I walked. Defied a supervisor to tell me different.Your car will be vandalized. Don't do it.
What if I don't own a car? I am borrowing my friends car to go to work or taking the bus. I call BS. Just say no
Don’t you take your personal car when you’re on traffic duty at Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Field?
Not to mention your license plate is now out there
Incompetent, insurance issues, not to mention the bad guys see your plate. No friggin way.
Obviously you guys need someone to tell you ! Take ur car to the footpost, then go do ur running around, ,lunch and whatever bullshit you want. When someone is looking for you , you parked a few blocks away and went to check on your car. Drive up and do a meet and drive away again and go hide in a safe spot with ur car. You would never be able to find the old foot guys that had their own car on post. Call em on the radio and they were pissed they had to meet you. If I have to take my car to a footpost, the next time you see me is at check off. Navigating this job and idiot bosses is easy if you watch, and listen to the experienced Officers. Now that’s how you do it kid.
more corruption

Great advice. One of the six know-nothing sergeants that works there will take a message. They will pass it on to the "merit" hired director who works maybe one day a week. She will then send the issue to the city law department where someone who may know what they are doing will decipher the problem and send the answer back to the director. She will then call you when she gets back in the office from a week of extended "contract negotiations". Expect an answer after the first of the year.
The department has how many TAKE HOME vehicles????
Leave the take home cars for patrol and have the privileged use their own car to drive back and forth to work.
Problem solved.
School officers report to the district in the morning then take their personal cars out to the schools... if you don’t want to take your personal car that you can sit in then enjoy sitting out in the rain all night on your feet on the fixed post. Go out, sit in your car and make easy money.. stop complicating your life.
So if you have to take police action on your fixed post you're just supposed to throw the offender in your personal vehicle next to your baby seats?? You are a merit hack and everything that is wrong with this dept...
They have a heck of a softball squad there in Englewood. 2nd place in Superintendent’s police league. Congrats 007!
But on the other note, word on the streets he's very close to his supervisor(s). He's very active in with them. Hands on Boss.
Local department I worked for had tried this once. Nope. Not my problem. Your problem boss to get me where you want me....
They tried pulling this crap in one small PD I worked in many years ago. After I told them my insurance would not over that type of use the PD didn’t push the idea. NO ONE seems to want to think proactively anymore. More officers on duty requires more radios and more cars.
Retired Ol’ Sixgun Sarge
Not enough cars and radios???
wtf? sounds like mismanagement at several different levels and departments.
fleet or 2fm is run by several rahm emanuel jackass's
oemc is run by daley and rahm emanuel jackass's
police is run by rahm emanuel jackass and the meritorious promoting is off the charts stupid.
wow, actually im surprised that there is not worse things happening, when you run the city with stupid people, stupid things happen...............
Im sure no one is force to do this. Probably an option, hitch a ride, cta, walk or bring your own ride. Foot guys been doing it for years. Better option than waiting for a car to pick you up, bus or walking. Solution to the millenial drama... city order 2 wheel bicycles for the overlap. Problem solved.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Put all of the fixed post officers into a sergeant's car and let the sergeant drop off these officers at their post for the tour. Arrange lunch relief. That is how it is done in other cities.
What about all the take home cars? Is this a necessary commodity for personnel not technically on the clock? Wasteful, shameful!!
THere is also a legal concept that if you are employed by an entity and you are involved in a car accident with any car you are driving (personal or car belonging to the entity), the entity as well as you can be sued. In plain language, if you are engaged in your official duties as a policer officer for the city of Chicago and you are using your personal car as part of those official duties, you now assume liability as well as the city. No thanks. I would consider this an unlawful order on some level.
Back in my day, fixed post officers always drove their personal vehicles out to their posts.
My God, what a bunch of sniveling bastards our profession has bred.
I guess that the sergeant will now be tasked to with dropping off and picking up the fixed post personnel, who will now be forced to remain on their feet for the vast majority of their workshifts? Be careful what you wish for...
Well where is the famous president of FOP? Why isn't he on the phone with the 1st deputy demanding that this stops. Back in the day foot coppers would take thier cars to thier posts, no big deal but not these days. Robinson is way over his head but Eddie owes his daddy
Refuse. That's an unlawful order. You cannot be ordered to utilize private property to do your job. Call FOP immediately.
If u r stupid enough 2 follow this order, u shouldn't b the Po lice! And if ordered, call the so-called union, and get names, call the First Deputy and if that don't work, fall down the stairs.
Dumb idea or police operations savant?
Save the Budget and use the carpool lane.
This isn’t the first time this concept was tried.
The w/c piled a bunch of us once into the back of a stank wagon, late summer for a ride downtown for anticipated traveling community uprising. many years ago.
The bosses reasoning: That’s how we did it back in his old days (‘70’s)
The new age 21st Century leaning never-on-the-street Merit Bosses can bark nonsensical orders all day long but it shouldn’t stop a PO to challenge these sort of dopey, unsafe directives. Can’t refuse an order but you can file grievances...big deal.
Shit details happen. Ain’t the first vehicle shortage, cut backs at MMD, parts suppliers ain’t getting paid, endless cycle.
And don’t forget...those stupid car chases that is destroying a good portion of the fleet.
Depending on the fixed post detail, (like Marathon, ball games, CTA Spec Emp) taking a personal car to a post isn’t always a bad thing.
But taking your car to war zone? That the bus Gus and some blinders.
Remember - You’re for Show not Productivity.
Back to chases in areas known for run of the mill negligent, impaired drivers.
Potential for 10-1 happens when over eager MeritBoss lackeys get over involved in Englewoods’ activities, which should be avoided altogether. A fixed post is a fixed post - you don’t not stray from a fixed post.
Now, should a there be a resurgence and the shit starts flying, hope to retreat at first opportunity...if you can.
This way the feral know your vehicle when you come back.
Oh, and send your claim to your insurance company along with that $500 deductible.
Don’t expect LightLoafer to buy more vehicles, FOP wont be able to get that onto the negotiations table either.
Anyone notify the Alderman?
Maybe he can send some discretionary funds y’all way.
Idiots!
Having worked with him in Narcotics, I can't express in mere words how surprising this ass-clownery, on his part ISN'T to me.
It sure is good to be on this job as the son of a former boss, aint it?
Nobody, repeat nobody, can force you to take your personal car to an assignment while on duty. Once roll call starts or once you hit the start time you must be on public transit or city vehicles. In fact there is a G.O. prohibiting using your own vehicles while on duty. Work in pairs and take the bus if you have to. Remember, you get there when you get there. If any boss gives you a hard time simply say that you were required to take public transit to your post and you arrived there as soon as that entity delivered you there. Oh, and by the way, take your time.
You know not only is it cold and flu season but twisted and sprained ankle season too... it would be ashame to injure your ankle on a foot post assignment required by the commander. Why you could injure your ankle to the point where you would be off until after the New Year.
If you take your own car you have to do the following.
You must get a rider on your auto insurance naming the city.
You will have to pay more for your auto insurance.
You may ask for mileage for your auto. ( good luck getting it)
In other words, you are screwed and if you get into an accident without a specific written order to use your own can, the city does not have to back you up.
So your screwed!!
REFUSE!!!! It’s NOT a Lawful Order.......just more bullshit Bully Tactics!!!! NO RADIO, NO CAR, NO SERVICE… Never leave the station without a radio. That’s THEIR FAULT, not ours… If you’re unsure call the LOCAL FOP, or National FOP, and possibly the department of Labor. If all fails, look at a class action move.
To quote POTUS, "This place is a Shithole"
Robinson was born with the silver spoon in his mouth, you see his daddy was a gold star therefore he was destined to be one himself, it’s the CPD way- one way!!!!!!
Nothing new. They've been doing this to PPO's for years knowing they can't/won't complain.
Say NO snowflake. Oh and if you get in accident with your vehicle the city will actually fight paying out claim. I'd also will not be covered.
Stupid is as stupid does

Insurance companies have a limit for max payout for claims ..anywhere from $300,000 up to 1 million ,depending on your coverage .. any settlement claimss above your covered limit ...insurance companies say it is your problem ..you gots to be fools for putting your personal assets at risk, using your personal car ,working the your watch in 07...Where is The FOP???.. Big claims against you, can't pay ? kiss your house goodbye, if in Illinois bankruptcy Court
Everyone has vehicle issues this weekend partly due to “hat on backwards hairgels getting into accidents’ oh yes and in 4 dumb SGT going home on a movie detail and getting his squad broad sided by a motorcycle. Note vehicle open tazer inside. Same asshole who had 300 hours for a period. But I digress/area south put down 20 vehicles just recently stripped completely of tags and decals. How stupid. Rant again “ Sarge maybe you can try to Fock up VRI and VRE”
Insurance won't cover you unless you have a commercial policy. Good luck getting that once you explain to State Farm, you're using it to in a working capacity as a P.O. inother words tell them topound sand.
My KIA is ready for action!
No way , that merit dog ass should be demoted back to Patrolman , he be the boss , he important . One time as a sarge in 3 at a community meeting , female commander strolls in half hour late and addresses crowd of 20 , sorry I'm late , ya all know who I am & several people responded No we don't , who are you ? I'm the District Commander she responds . What an embarrassment to CPD .
Lori end these pension draining ranks from Captain to ADS . HAVE lT.'S THAT PASSED THE EXAM , WERE PROMOTED IN RANK ORDER RUN THE UNITS , DISTRICTS ,AREAS .
Give every blue shirt , white shirt assigned to the street in districts a take home car . Start of tour as soon as they hit assigned district .
Not to mention that your auto insurer will likely have a problem with you using your personal car to conduct direct-work activities.
Also the hoods in the ghettos would have your plate numbers.
What is mileage reimbursement by IRS standards?
It’s pretty sad that as an FOP Rep I have read this on SCC. Nobody called the office to complain about this. What might be even more sad is the fact that there is even one copper out there who is dumb enough to do this.
This is also every LT and SGT’s fault for allowing it too.
Not true. I work in 007. Does every nonsense rumor get posted?

Every set of standard interrogatories for car crash claims includes questions on your trip, purpose, and you must provide a full itinerary for hours before and after the crash. This is fully legal to ask these questions as the normal rules of evidence do not apply to discovery. You can actually thank all of the gig economy workers such as uber, lift, ect for this. I saw case the other day where a Homeowners association director was taking a deposit to the bank and was hit by another car. The claim was denied since the policy did not have business rider included on the policy and the trial court ruled the car was being used for business purpose. So stop and think about this. Running to get evidence while on the clock, using your car at the parks, or even using it for a base during a fixed post. I doubt the city will indemnify your damages, and even if they do it would be significant hassle. What about a mileage reimbursement? I bet finance would deny that too.
One letter to this ignoramus from an insurance company would change his viewpoint
This guys a fuck'n STROKE!
Is stupidity now a promotion requirement?
This department has truly lost its identity. It is truly lost

Well, we're not "back in your day". If you were too much of a pussy to open up your mouth and stand up for yourself and/or too stupid to realize how fucked up taking your personal car to a fixed post in the hood is, then that's your shortcoming. Don't come down on coppers for not wanting to follow this unnecessary bullshit.
“School officers report to the district in the morning then take their personal cars out to the schools... if you don’t want to take your personal car that you can sit in then enjoy sitting out in the rain all night on your feet on the fixed post. Go out, sit in your car and make easy money.. stop complicating your life.”
And you’re the problem. We don’t drive personal cars at work, it’s not insured, that’s why we drive police cars. And do you really want shit birds knowing what car you drive in? Or mistake you for another shit head? Would you push a beat in your personal car? Get your head out of your ass, you’re the problem and the reason coppers can’t stick together. Get an order from a political hack that we shouldn’t be following for various reasons and your response is “shut up and do it, better than standing in the rain” you must be the commander who ordered this, fuck off.

They will just get rid of you probationary period too long should still have union protection
The lawyers should be hovering.
All the people posting "where is FOP". You are going to either call them yourself or grow a set to actually respond to such a ridiculous order yourself. If the LT told you to go jump in the fucking lake would you ? Holy fuck, grow up
And these clowns will do it in order to stay in their spot, or keep a start time lolol
ALL CALL FOR THE BLIND AMONG US.
I show up for the 9 hours and hope for an uneventful night and go home. Boggles my mind when I hear craziness on the zone such as “Offender running west bound, squad, from Central he’s on Madison” or “State trooper needs assistance at 290/Austin, trooper has occupants at gun point.”
STOP CHASING AND CURBING STOLEN VEHICLES YOU MORONS! Especially when you’re patrolling solo. You ain’t a hero you won’t be one when you’re dead and you won’t win in Cook County. It’s only property crime and you’ll look pretty stupid when Crimesha asks for that arrest warrant in your name. Collect the paycheck and go home to your families!
Don’t you take your personal car when you’re on traffic duty at Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Field?
Have done that in the past.
But it is one thing to take your personal vehicle to your post when you are working a low intensity(hopefully) detail like traffic control at an event.
Entirely different when you are basically on patrol, even tho it is at a fixed post.
Traffic control at a Cubs or Sox game? Maybe OK
Fixed post in 007 on a weekend? NO F'n WAY!!!
I don't know how you guys do it. God bless you all, and pray that the people of Chicago wake up (they won't because they're clearly idiots who don't deserve professional police protection).
I would of pulled up to the pumps in my personal car and said "fill er up per Commander Dumbass."
I purchased a coffee machine that can be plugged into my car lighter. I wear my loafers. I have Directv on my IPhone. I keep the the windows rolled up in my weather controlled cruiser. I wish the seat was able to recline that would be ideal. Squad Can I have a nine hour personal? I've been dabbling with hair gel, kinda like the look. I'm not a pooch. I just want to make sure I make it to retirement. Stay safe my brothers and sisters. Wake me up if you need an assist. zzzzzzzzzz
I remember when the most dangerous part of this job was avoiding LT. Acosta in the 007th District before he began rubbing your shoulders at his young officer sleep overs.
I used to take my PC out for foot patrol in 018. It was safer back then and to be incognito was a benefit. I was only filling in at some vacationers footpost anyways.
The day I regularly have to take out my car on a footpost in 007 or any other district is the day I TVB a car and forget to fill out a tow report. That will be my "foot car"
Nuff Said....
FOP get your asses moving on this NOW.

In plain language, if you are engaged in your official duties as a policer officer for the city of Chicago and you are using your personal car as part of those official duties, you now assume liability as well as the city. No thanks. I would consider this an unlawful order on some level.

This was one of the things that put the brakes on one idiot alderman's idea several years ago, which would have required us to wear our uniforms to work.
You really gotta wonder what makes these folks tick sometimes.
Be safe.
As far as foot guys back in the day taking their POVs to their post that is correct. However, they did it because they chose to not because they were told to. Foot guys could either have a squad pick em and drop em off or take the green limousine or the EL. Many chose to take their own vehicles while some did the other. They had their own thing going and didn’t want to anyone to know about it or interfere with it so many times it made sense for them to have their personal cars. However today I would not take my vehicle to my foot post unless I was getting a real good duck or had something else to do....
If they want you to take your own car to your post, then prior to going get in the gas line and fill it up.
Watch how soon that stops.

Send in the clowns, where are the clowns?

Which presidents? Trump? Obama? Bush? And where are they being set? In the toilet? Cement? A high chair? It's precedence, you goof!
Hey, we heard from "be careful what you wish for" guy. And he's just as douchey as ever. Hahaha!

He works hard and long with his new staff
I work in 007, didn’t hear this one. BUT... I’m game if I can call R-service for new brakes.

9/01/2019 09:51:00 AM
Well, we're not "back in your day". If you were too much of a pussy to open up your mouth and stand up for yourself and/or too stupid to realize how fucked up taking your personal car to a fixed post in the hood is, then that's your shortcoming. Don't come down on coppers for not wanting to follow this unnecessary bullshit.
9/01/2019 04:58:00 PM
I was around back in that day. The difference between now and then is people knew there was a heavy price for fucking with the foot guys car. Now they know its the equivalent of a parking ticket and wouldn't think twice about putting a brick thru your window with you sitting in it.

Hey ace, back in your day people didn’t go to police garages and vandalize and break into officers’ cars either. They didn’t follow cops home and gun them down either. You can go ahead and say “it happened back in the day.” It DID NOT happen with the regularity that it does today. The job has changed. Turn on the fucking news once in a while. So while I’m sure you were a real tough guy without a vest and doling out wood shampoos and taking a $20 from a driver instead of handing him a ticket and going home 2 hours early every day, or playing grab-ass with the dispatchers behind your wife’s back, those days are done. So maybe ease up on the ball busting of the guys currently working the job, because while you may have known it all in 1980, you clearly don’t know shit about today. Also, you’re welcome because we are paying your pension.
The bottomless pit of political hackery never ceases to produce.....

“School officers report to the district in the morning then take their personal cars out to the schools... if you don’t want to take your personal car that you can sit in then enjoy sitting out in the rain all night on your feet on the fixed post. Go out, sit in your car and make easy money.. stop complicating your life.”
What The FUCK!!!
I was a school officer, and NEVER...Not one fuckin time did I or any other school officer in the 011 take our vehicle to the school.
This must be some new shit.
So glad I'm gone.
I used my own car when I was a copper. And I had a cherry 76 Gran Torino. Way better than the shit boxes you guys drive. Quit being pussies and get out there and clean up the streets.
If we take uber is it a tax write off?
What’s wrong with that? Been in HQ since 2003 and we have always been forced to take our personal cars to posts when we work weekend festivals, marathons, races, bike the drive, etc. always told to show up at the closest district for roll call then drive to our post in our personal car, then drive back to the district for check off.
The problem is you new age snowflake policeman actually follow these orders and take your personal cars I would fuck no.

It’s easier to duck during the day if you have your own car instead of being dropped off also easier on starting and quitting times

Could not have said better myself and I'm retired. Back in the day, today's bosses were the worst out in the street especially. Always abusing their power and doing just stupid shit. And, yes it's because of some or many PO's back in the day that the present coppers are paying for the dirty dishes. I'm no fucken angel either, but always tried to do the right thing and "THANK YOU ALL FOR PAYING INTO THE PENSION" hopefully you guys will retire soon and join the ranks of retirees.
GOD BLESS.........
Mileage pay for using personal vehicle for work is a law. Insurance considerations. Public transportation or department vehicle is only correct way....

New tax law no write off just standard deduction.
I know 022 reasons why he’s tripping. Let’s start with the newly promoted supervisor that’s there now.
My prayers for the ordinary CPD officer. I can't think of a worse job in American policing, except maybe San Francisco or LA. But I'm sure typhus is coming to Chicago, too.

Thanks there Starsky and Hutch. We haven't missed you.
What’’a the requirements to be a SDSC Supervisor? Asking for a friend
Lemme guess. This was the brainchild of the Lt whose last name starts with P and should end with a ‘k’ instead of an ‘e.’
P.S. Seiser still runs it.
