Chopper Chase?

We don't know how much better we can explain it, but now the helicopter is involved with this crap?
  • Someone explain the concept of "Fetal" to PH2 will ya. In 011 this morning 7 November, PH2 spots a car "driving erratically" (This is 011...that's the way they drive!) Beat car gets assigned the job(?) PH2 telling everyone where to go. Teams, etc. pile onto this job(?) because of course, driving erratically warrants such excessive police response... Car chase, accident (Get your lawyer ready) Hospital detail downing even more officers. I put question mark in parentheses because it shouldn't even had been a Job, it should have been "For officer information" not playing air-dispatcher.

Some dudes in custody, PH2 can't even identify "offenders" cause you know, they're... in a helicopter. All that for what?? A stolen car(cue sad clown noises)

So you see, even if you want to mind your own business, work smart, stay out of trouble, answer jobs (radio was dead until PH2) and avoid questionable police actions, you got airborne supertroopers creating unnecessary work, drama and guaranteed headaches.

Hey whoever pilots the PH'S, stick to being backup for officers chasing bad guys, you know, officers on the ground that CAN identify those they initiate chases on. 011 is busy enough without you creating shit from thin air. Btw, what's your desired court date?? Cause sure as shit, if I got assigned that mess, you'd be in box#1. I guess that was a little more exciting than just asking for "event numbers" from every job you fly over. High fives all around!!
Someone is going to be made an example of one of these days, and it probably won't be someone in a clout-heavy unit like the helicopter one. Stolen cars are PROPERTY CRIMES. Crimesha has said so, the bosses have said so, and you can bet Groot would agree, meaning that COPA will agree and you will be in the trick bag.

Talking about trick bag watch Inspector Noballs Furgeson bang the 009th district coppers for not doing their job and checking Johnson for DWI. Johnson will walk and the coppers let him drive while impaired. Stay tuned chumps.

Where was a supervisor to tell them to knock that crap off? Officers should know better than to fall in that trap, but that like hunting birds and not letting your dog fetch them.

Just fly the helicopter and keep your fucking mouths shut! All we need you to do is back us up or help us out WHEN ASKED. Know your role. You are detached from the cluster fuck you created while the guys on the ground are put into physical and financial harm. Now go get gas and park it for the night.

Those assholes always do stupid shit like that. I remember hearing not too long ago the helicopter watching what they thought was a drug deal going down in 011. They were giving a description of the guy leaning into a car window, purportedly retrieving or hiding narcotics. Somebody piped up on the radio and said something like “Unless you’re going to land that bird and walk over and put handcuffs on this guy, it’s time you find something else to do instead of create more work for us in 011. You want to make dope pinches? Bid to the district and have at it super cop”. Seriously, you fucking hard-ons in the helicopter unit need to figure out what’s what. You’re a fucking SUPPORT UNIT. Don’t go creating problems that you have no intention of following through with and cleaning up. Just like some outside under cover unit pulling over a 501 and then calling a beat car to handle it. FUCK YOU. It’s your baby, you handle it.

I drive on the Dan Ryan now once or twice per week and the fools on that highway are incredibly dangerous. I don't think there are any car chases after these nit wits because, when they get into an accident, it's your fault. All you can do is hope when they shoot across 4 lanes of traffic at a high rate of speed they overshoot the last lane and ride the CTA. It'll probably be the CTA's fault though... Damn train tracks and all.

Coach Urban Meyer would clean up this mess rite quick. We’ve worked for people who were cat lovers and not Cops before. Coach is still young, a genius strategist, and would certainly pump morale into an Organization that’s been losing air for awhile now.
What a joke. If I were in my 20’s I’d Never consider a gig where firing you is high on the agenda.
Fuck this place. An utter waste of time with anxiety rising all the time.

Almost everyday on the west side there’s someone that gets all excited on the radio saying we just had a car take off on us. It’s coming back stolen. He’s going westbound on Madison etc etc. Holy shit, why even bother putting that out there. Now you’re getting other units flying over to something that is PROHIBITED. U can not chase at all for a stolen car. As soon as he takes off and all u got us a hot car ... buh bye. Let it go. Don’t Call it out. Just let it go. The sooner u accept this the better off we will all be, including you and your families well being b/c u won’t get sued for an illegal pursuit.

Listen just so you guys know there are Sheriffs in those helicopters not always CPD. Everything they do is recorded both by video and audio. Stay away from those things and don’t get involved in their nonsense.

Wow the keyboard warriors keep dogging the ghetto bird. The camera on the helicopter has a zoom feature so hand to hand transactions would be visible. And the officers that called that out had it all recorded and went to court. At you just sad you couldn’t get a drug pinch. Go on another personal.

It is a sad commentary that you cannot find one qualified individual on this entire department command staff who cannot lead the department on an interim basis until a replacement is found. It is not that nobody is qualified, it is all about groot's lack of trust of anyone on this department.

Why didn’t they do like in the movies? You know, land right in front of the suspects car, forcing it to stop and end the chase

Traffic enforcement ranger pulled up on our DUI stop. He informed my partner and I that his LT. told him he has the authority to take over any traffic arrest because he’s a Department traffic specialist. We’re not going to argue with his LT. We believed him and it was all bullshit.

NewsRadio PH2 eye-in-the-sky traffic reporting?
Overhead chasing is a big deal in L.A. and maybe there’s an assumption that any interim Soop would agree.

Bringing up some activity numbers for an incompetent DC?
Enticing the knot head beat wonder cars to go to great lengths and speeds for a TVB...or maybe it’s an iffy No PC, Cook Co UUW Misdemeanor CB# and an RDO trip to El COPA Cabaña.

(This is 011...that's the way they drive!) ...
Mind your bidness. Only 1 gets to write the GOCR.
Some folks are just in a rush to get to Northwestern E/R or any trauma center thats furthest from the crime scene with their drop offs, and then there’s some that are very determined to be first to cut in line for a limited availability spy-say chicken sangwitch.

Though mostly, erratic unlicensed uninsured community drivers in 011/015 have no destination... just a big fuckin’hurry and attitude to get there.

That's the thing, these guys aren't around when you need them but they sure as hell know how to create some bullshit for us coppers on the ground! If I'm not mistaken I believe that the pilots are comprised of a handful of juice hacks from both CPD and cook county sheriff's office. As everyone says "help when asked!"

Is it Georgas’s nephew? The guy that got the job because he recently was taking flying lessons.

They did some similar shit this past summer in 008. Claimed they on-viewed a shooting. Someone was shooting from the rear of a truck at another vehicle while driving. Supposedly the shooters ran on some railroad tracks. The chopper guy sent the whole 008th District on a maze through factory yards and railroad tracks. 45 minutes later they find somebody and a Sgt asked the chopper guy for info. Chopper guy changes his story and says the shooter was shooting the ground. The ground, as in the pavement, not another vehicle. The Sgt. sounded super pissed. I remember listening to it on the radio. I’m sure I forgot some details. An 008th District copper who was there can explain it better. It was comical.

I worked zone 10 for many years and I lost count of how many times the PH goofs would create work for coppers on the ground. Petty stuff too. Simple disturbances and speeding vehicles to name a few. These helicopter tools didn’t even have the balls to code out a job one time. Shaky, worthless

Good thinking. Don’t get involved in someone else’s stop or arrest except to assist them. It’s their baby especially now days when the reason for the initial stop and reason for the stop is so important. What was the probable cause? Aand if you weren’t there is a problem

The Police Pilot Program is a career ladder to that
big bunk bed in the sky. Do they ever say they'll
put the skill to use in a resort area giving flight tours,
work for a TV station, or hospital? Most private pilots
struggle. Some take piece work drying cherry groves in
Washington State after rainstorms right before picking
season. Tough work.

Not just CPD... PH one time called out a car that had taken off on several CPD units when they tried to stop it. The car was now in the suburbs. The suburban department guys got the car stopped and the occupants all took off on foot but where scooped up pretty quick. The suburban Sgt got on ispern to ask PH what CPD district was coming out to take the offenders. PH switches back the zone for a minute and then goes back on ispern advising CPD doesn't want the offenders anymore since it was just for traffic. Now the suburban guys have 4 in custody and nothing to do with them...

People got injured in this chase and subsequent accident. I GUARANTEE you, someone(s) is taking time from this...at the least. It doesn't matter that you got the bad guys, it doesn't matter that you got a hot ride. That chase was flawed from the beginning.

STOP THE PROACTIVE DUMB SHIT

"So you see, even if you want to mind your own business, work smart, stay out of trouble, answer jobs (radio was dead until PH2) and avoid questionable police actions, you got airborne supertroopers creating unnecessary work, drama and guaranteed headaches."

If you get assigned to respond to this type of call, tell the dispatcher that yes you see the vehicle but did not make any observations and will not engage or even initiate a traffic pursuit so 19Paul. You are NOT mandated to chase or even initiate a traffic stop for a traffic violation that you did not observe.

They can dispatch a District Mon-Fri CAPS Team for an immediate and thorough cleanup.
Or just hover low enough to blow and scatter the trash over the affected District border.
