Parking Ban Coming
- A warning to holiday travelers: Chicago’s overnight parking ban begins early Sunday, Dec. 1, so be careful where you park. The parking ban is enforced regardless of snow on 107 miles of main streets in the city between 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., according to the Chicago Dept. of Streets and Sanitation. The ban lasts through April 1, 2020.
Violators can face a $150 towing fee, $60 ticket and $20 storage fee charge per day of storage.
The city said drivers can avoid violations by checking street signage. A complete map of impacted streets can be found on the city’s website.
Traditionally, around 100 cars get towed in the early AM hours of 01 December. However, last year, the City snatched nearly 300 cars, probably to help close Rahm's extensive budget gaps. We're not even going to try to set the over/under tonight.

Watch Groot rescind the fines and storage fees, because they are overly racist in their application and thus burdensome to low income residents (voters) of economically depleted areas.
I’m gonna go with 58 tows. Low number, but the weather is supposed to be crappy.
No one's getting towed this year. Communerite won't stand for it... Towing, ticketing, impounding, fees, fees, fees are all racist and keeping people down.
Chicago doesn't make people pay their water bills any more, so why would they tow. Groot will just make up the shortfall from some other branch on the mighty money tree.

I'm with the other commentators. Surprised Groot will allow this nonsense to happen. Once your car is messed up by the tow, the fees almost seem incidental so dropping fees would be too little too late
Speaking of parking and tickets, make sure you pull into CPS lots and nail those vehicles without both playes, stickers, and those vehicles parked in fire lanes and handicapped spots without placsrds.
I am thankful that my pretty loft comes with a parking spot so my smart car fits in there perfectly.

A lot of our community is made up of illegal immigrants who have not mastered the English language yet, so to ticket and tow is definitely RACIST and should not be tolerated in a sanctuary city like ours.
The towing fees are bad enough. What's worse is that the towing companies damage the towed vehicles.
Disparities will eliminate this annual Tow event.
At most they’ll do relocations, perhaps a city issued cigar but no impounds.
Some Zip Codes already have the exemption from fines and penalties, others beware because the difference has to be made up.

Just curious how is t the community can afford the gas, insurance and all the upkeep on their cars. If you own a car you should be made to pay all fees for that go along with law-breaking. If you can't afford the upkeep and all the finial liabilities of the vehicle you should not have one. Period simple as that. City has good public transportation and bikes and scooters. But on safety on said public transportation. What percentage of NYC dwellers own cars? Bet it is way way lower than Chicago.
FREE water, what about power, cable, WiFi and phones. Free housing, free food, plus kids now get three meals a day in school. More money for each bastard kid you turn out. Who in their right mind would expect this segment to conform to societies norms. That would mean they would have to work each day and become a productive member of society instead of the worthless drain they now are. Whose fault is these people refuse to become employable. As long as you continue to reward their bad habits they will never change. Why is this so hard for the liberals to understand are they really that stupid. Once again, Nothing But Crap ch. 5 showed the large red, white,& blue sign for large snow falls instead of the smaller red & white sign for the nightly 3am tow routes (snow or no snow). Will these media midgets ever get an annual event as simple as snow towing signage right? But we're so proud of Carol Moron and her sidekick Mary Ann (my son is a cop!) Ahern as well as self described super mom Katie Kim.

Tell that to the Coppers that troll around for Street Cleaning and Rush Hour Tickets in 019/018/024/022. Or the Ones that write the Snow Ban tickets in 11 and 15 after a lot of snow falls, but OEMC doesn't Invoke the Ban.
