Holiday Decor

002 has installed its indoor waterfall display for the holiday season:

Not sure if this is sewage or just leaking from the roof, but it seems all the police areas built in the 70's are currently falling apart.

Instead of half-assing it, how about this:

Cuts down on damage, keeps the >whatever< from splashing all over....

Oh wait, never mind. I forgot we're in Chiraq.

002 should be torn down and a new Area 1 should be built. Yes, Area 1 like in the old days! Paint falling off the ceiling in the locker rooms, mens bathroom smell like 3 day old vomit on a 90 degree day, cockroaches the size of Light in the Loafers eyes, and probably asbestos and mold in the walls. You won't find OSHA anywhere near this shit-hole.

All of the Police buildings built back then were political hack jobs. Contracts awarded to the clout club. All horseshit as expected. I know, I worked in most Area 2 the new one, 005 the new one, 002, on and on, all horseshit built by clout

Gotta blame commanders! as long as they have clean working washrooms in there office they dont give 2 shitz!

keep in mind exempts are overpaid and dont even know who the engineers are in charge of building. Commanders dont even have the engineers numbers in the city issued phones

Oh and that mold statement is very true that filthy water is passing through multiple walls with insulation.

All roofs have lifespans. This one shoulda been replaced years ago. Having someone try to repair an outdated worn out rood is a waste of time and money.

That's been leaking forever. They just finished installing a new drop ceiling in the third quarter and the very next rainy day it was leaking. I'm not sure if they did any roof work at all. They tuck point the building and installed new doors. The east wall of men's locker has a huge crack in the foundation wall that its has a class 2 leak for many, many years. At least 60 lockers have been lost to water damage, but they are finally addressing this issue now. This is an old station with a laundry list of issues. Maybe a new station in the future, but not during my lifetime.

I am old enough to remember when Harrison and Kedzie opened with a wall to nowhere. reversed plumbing fixtures, and the exterior concrete graded so that rain and snow flowed into the building instead of away from the building.

So if they knock this building down abd build another it will result with the same problems. The city will just use another no bid, connected builder that will charge a million bucks & do a horse shit job.

Contractors were forced to use "community" local contractors, many were paid and didn't do anything. The the city accepts the building without really inspecting it. And, yes, I went thru this.

Those leaks can be harboring mold and bacteria, when dried it’s becomes airborne throughout the entire ventilation system.
Pro Lab test kit at Home Depot - $10 might be helpful 20 years from now when lung problems start developing.
Let’s not even get into the stairwell and door blockage fire safety and escape issue.
-
I like the 4 waste bucket - 1 trash can and plastic bag water reclamation and diversion effort.
If you ever wondered how The Clinton Foundation helped hurricane ravaged villages in Haiti, here it is.
I’m told there is no contingency should any of those receptacles leak, overfill before or during the long holladay weekend.

-

Now for that bathtub grille in the stairwell.
How’s the ventilation?

Home of the homeless. Waterfall might be a new addition for the Club! District will soon smell like shit. All the homeless people will start laying in the front lobby. Drugs will be shared. There won’t be any room for people that need police assistance to walk through. There will be an aroma of fresh candles with fresh feces. Place is a fu*king disgrace! Hope the new commander doesn’t allow that type of none sense to happen this winter...
