The lesser of Johnson’s problems is his DUI. Supposedly the real investigation by the IG is on his close relationship with Chicago Uniform Company on Roosevelt and now his 01JAN20 retirement date is in jeopardy.
Rumor is the other uniform stores contacted the IG when Johnson received freebies from C.U.C. [Their] concern is Johnson approved uniform items that C.U.C. had pre-made and stockpiled such as pink flag patches and an exempt raincoat and a rainbow hat for the Pride parade. Johnson approved the items without the required pre-notification to the stores which means no other store had time to make them before breast cancer awareness or the pride parade, giving C.U.C. a complete monopoly.
If this all started with a free very expensive raincoat which Johnson then required all exempts to purchase, this is turning into something way bigger than his drinking problem. Id like to see all the receipts from everything he got from C.U.C. for himself or his relatives. I think the IG does too.
The Uniform stores have always had one scam or another going. The reason they kept quiet about it was because all shared semi-equally in the spoils. If someone (or many someones) got shut out of some lucrative markets, there are going to be some irritated people more than willing to talk.

CPD doesn’t have a uniform...CPD has a rag tag collection of clothing options that you can mix and match. One cop can have a dark blue shirt, turtle neck, knit hat, vest under shirt, and leather coat while his partner has a lighter blue shirt, tie, cordura coat, vest cover, and crown cap. Third man in the car walks up with a baseball cap and cargo pants as the newest go getter strolls past them wearing a vest cover that has more attachments than an active duty soldier would require. “Uniform”. Lol.

HQ and the uniform stores are all in cahoots. “Hiring freeze” announced followed by admin messages about no back molle, pride hat, inspectors out looking for uniform violations and this new bosses raincoat. For the pride parade, the powers that be allowed a rainbow checkerboard in place of the regular checkerboard and they made our CPD uniform patch pink for breast cancer awareness month in October. All snowflake, feel good, social justice warrior, virtue signaling, garbage CAPS drivel.

All uniform stores received notification the same day, giving us 3 business days to obtain specs, work with our vendor, get them printed, shipped and on our shelves for the parade on the 30th. But CUC had a full inventory. Johnson approved the pink flag patch and required anyone wanting to wear the pink CPD patch to wear both on 30SEP19, the day before breast cancer awareness month. Same issue for us with vendors but somehow Johnson and his friends all got them from CUC. How did CUC get the heads up? The raincoat is what, $500? And no warning for us but required of all exempts. I want to know where and when Johnson got his raincoat, patches and hats. He must have receipts if it’s all legit.

OT: Does everyone know that the department is looking into every pointing incident. They said all it would be is a “notification” to oemc. Well it turns out that they are tracking every pointing incident and force review unit is going in and reviewing BWC and reports for every incident. So u point your weapon, you are going to be scrutinized every which way they can and if they find something on one of the body cams that doesn’t match up... watch out. If u don’t believe me, go into clearnet and look at the new tab. Every pointing incident is in there and they’re investigating them just like TRR’s.

CPD doesn’t have a uniform...CPD has a rag tag collection of clothing options that you can mix and match. One cop can have a dark blue shirt, turtle neck, knit hat, vest under shirt, and leather coat while his partner has a lighter blue shirt, tie, cordura coat, vest cover, and crown cap. Third man in the car walks up with a baseball cap and cargo pants as the newest go getter strolls past them wearing a vest cover that has more attachments than an active duty soldier would require. “Uniform”. Lol.

Johnson approved the pride hat on June 25th. All uniform stores received notification the same day, giving us 3 business days to obtain specs, work with our vendor, get them printed, shipped and on our shelves for the parade on the 30th. But CUC had a full inventory. Johnson approved the pink flag patch and required anyone wanting to wear the pink CPD patch to wear both on 30SEP19, the day before breast cancer awareness month. Same issue for us with vendors but somehow Johnson and his friends all got them from CUC. How did CUC get the heads up? The raincoat is what, $500? And no warning for us but required of all exempts. I want to know where and when Johnson got his raincoat, patches and hats. He must have receipts if it’s all legit.

When I asked him why the D/C was so hot on the new cars parked outside, he told me Schenker was in the dealer and demanded that they GIVE him a new car. When they wouldn't pony up with a brand new car for zip, the tickets started. So when I got the call to tag the cars, I'd go inside and tell them, they'd move the cars. Jagoff Schenker found out and started yelling at me saying I should bring in at least 20 parkers from that dealer every day..

Lieutenants and up, all must have the long wool coat. The raincoat referenced here was a new item that the Supt wanted for exempts only. No one else. Because they are exempt, they cannot claim first issue and get it paid for by the department.
Raincoats for Lt and above have epaulets.

The new raincoat that everyone is referring to is like a trench coat that Lt's and above can wear over their blouse during summer Class A uniform standards. The long wool coat is worn over their blue for winter Class A. They all still wear the same rain gear as everyone else does with Class B or C street uniforms.
Considering there is a slow-moving corruption investigation being pursued by the U.S. Attorney in the NDIL, perhaps this may be Johnson's unlucky year. The feds occasionally indict people for bribery for low dollar items like sporting event tickets and dinners. Since he's a high-profile figure, he may actually have something to worry about. If this is true, and Ferguson makes a referral to the USAO, things could get interesting. Can Johnson trust the uniform store owners will cover for him when facing a federal grand jury? Getting indicted for a public corruption charge carries the real possibility of prison. Imagine what putrid juices could flow from squeezing a corrupt shit bag, and who he'd be willing to throw under the federal bus to knock off a year in the BOP. We can only hope...but we all know how these things die on the vine.

well, partly correct. The long wool coat is for dress events. A Lt or above can wear a reefer but with black plastic buttons. I do so for years.

Yes, this guy was one of the biggest goofs to ever wear a gold star. Lots of stories about him when he was a lieutenant in 012. A prime example of what politics does to a police department
