I recall when I made lieutenant, on the day we were to show up in uniform wearing our new rank for inspection, there was a female who pinned her bars on her blouse facing the wrong way. I found it hilarious and typical. She went on to a stellar career in 012.

Trump justice department wanted zero to do with it so it’s NOT federal, there’s no such thing as a state consent decree or a city consent decree... so it’s FAKE. She “has kids and needs spring break and a summer furlough.” Sgt with 13 years now irritated and thinking she’s nuts now says no kidding. Man, good luck with that but not a chance you will be getting that furlough. In fact spring break and summer are always gone last, he says that judging by the numbers he is gonna be able to get the 4A (spring break) because he goes to California with the family. Well, she lost it. Still is ranting on how she has more time on the job and she needs and deserves it and that “kid” shouldn’t get anything because of her time on. She runs to the Lt and he screams her out of the office with the parting words of, “your time on the job means nothing with those stripes on you’re arm, we might as well call you a PPO because this is your first day of seniority.. enjoy your 1B,2A. She cries and runs out. Embarrassing. And guess what, she has been inside secretary in units for the past 14 years!!! A whole 4 or 5 years on the street and spoiled for the rest. Enjoy midnights and enjoy your furlough in January bigmouth.

I couldn't agree more. Waller is probably the most pro police exempt that you have up at the top level. He sees through Special Ed's bullshit and actually was the working Police, unlike the rest of them. When he leaves you will lose someone who actually gets it. And if you think for a minute he is responsible for the new schedule you need to lay off the Rocks.
While Waller may be a good guy, no one should be promoted to commander after being a LT for a month. You slap every other LT in the face when you do that. I know its the Chicago way, but the problems you create for an organization when you do something so stupid is immeasurable.

Very true, heard from someone that LL, when asking Grau if he'd take interim, told him that his first job will be to "give the axe" to numerous exempts. He told her that he would not do that as some of them are his friends.....and declined Interim. Glad he didn't take it for other reasons not this one, LOL!

I propose a new rule SCC: anyone from now on who writes the words “consent decree” needs to add the word “fake” in front of it. This is due to the fact that it’s a fake consent decree... He only agreed to half her number. She brags about being best friends with Maurice Claussen who is the mayor’s chief of staff and likes to throw around “the mayor wants this” to try to bully chiefs. She'll get one or the other because of the way sergeants pick. They pick first choice by seniority, then go around again by seniority for their second pick. If they change hers, and anybody with more seniority wanted that pick but couldn't get it, they're fools if they don't file a grievance.
