Anatomy of a Tool

  • Burlington, VT – Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo has declared that law enforcement officers are too quick to defend themselves against potential deadly threats.

Chief del Pozo’s thoughts on the matter were published in an op-ed piece by The New York Times on Nov. 13.

“We tell officers that a knife or a shard of glass is always a lethal threat and that they should aggressively meet it with a lethal threat in return,” the police chief wrote. “But doing so forecloses all of the better ways to communicate with a person in crisis. There are alternatives.”

He said that one of the biggest mistakes trainers have made has been to teach law enforcement officers “to lead with the gun.”
One hundred toothpicks says this Poindexter has ten arrests, tops, in his entire career and all as Box Two. But he'll have been to every single "supervisor symposium" offered to those up-and-comers who land in these spots.

You’re sent to dangerous situations and not allowed to protect yourselves. That takes courage. The media, the residents and now your Chiefs expect you to be cannon fodder. Because no one ever’s been killed with a knife. No wonder nobody wants the damn job anymore. Stay safe officers.

Not a cop.

strong-as-any-3-able-bodied-men, monster.

And when the fighting is done and the monster is
secured/defeated/rightfully killed, this is also the
very same kind of m/fer who would cry like a little bitch

re-set/torn flesh stitched up, suddenly knocks all his upper

Progressivism IS the utter ruination of Policing
and any cherished and dearly held notion of
Public Order, public Peace and Public Safety.

This whole progtard, white-guilt liberal feel-goodery
of beating the native and lawfully sanctioned assertiveness
and yes even combativeness and ferocity out of The Police
as an appeasement and pandering tactic by urban center
Police Executives, oversight bodies and mayors is insane.

Policing, in it's pristine and un-fucked-with natural state,
is very naturally properly skewed toward having a proper
response to the societal outrages perpetrated by the lowest
(worst) common denominator of the client base.

The continued liberal/progressive denial of this truth
is the very height of danger, hypocrisy and foolishness.

Chief del Pozo is no kind of Policeman whatsoever...
Read the comments to that article. They quite properly
light his ass on fire.

The appropriate refutation of his progressive propaganda
would be the studies done over the years that refute the
liberal talking point of "Policemen being too quick to
protect themselves."

The research is there...
You trolls will have to put your own work in.

This guy is going to get one/some of his Officers
fucked-up really bad, financially ruined or killed.

"He bravely held his fire..."

Fukdat.

Police Like You Have No Friends.

With progressive darling "Police Executives" cut from the same
craven cloth as del Pozo popping up all over, you really DO NOT have
any friends out there.

Give THEM nothing to hurt YOU or YOUR loved ones with.

Heh...

This unmanly, Police Impersonating m/fer
would give Mx. Lightfoot a tingle...

We can just imagine him landing here.

Many many years ago I responded to a shots fired call up in Rogers Park.

As one of the Lieutenants arrived, he saw that most of us were out of our cars and walking around looking in gangways and under cars.
It was then this LT. Yelled at us to holster our weapons! What a idiot.....
It was just then a shot rang out from a gangway and we all took cover.......I learned then protect yourself

Several years later I went to another shots fired call and as we started to code the job out and started to walk away when a door to an apartment opened up and shots were fired striking Jim Mullen.

Now both of theses events involved guns. But these morons are now saying that a knife does not need the use of a gun by responding officers?

After 30 years, my survival comes first. And the only tool to do this is at my side.
Harsh language and cookies still does not work!

The most telling thing is his choice of words. "...a person in crisis..." This absolves the person of any responsibility for their actions and places all the responsibility on the officer to properly evaluate "the crisis" and to act according to the accepted practice for that "crisis". Not sure how a robbery, shooting, carjacking, etc. suspect is "in crisis" but I'll leave that to the "professionals" to define.

When was the last time (if ever) del Pozo saw a shard of

to steep them in cultural experiences. But it backfires when
they wear blue line T-shirts. Brandon sayz....An immersive

What about a department issued fencing sabre. No one's ever kilt or injured being poked with a fencing sabre. Fencing sabres allow for maintaining safe distance between you and opponent. Other than very minor bruising cause no physical harm to the opponent, they may also be used as soft batons. It's a win win for officer and offender. I love this job.

Yes, he is a real 'thinker' isn't he? The great abstract application of what 'seems' right. No downside he has to suffer when everything he philosophizes about turns up wrong. (because there is rarely going to be a psycho brandishing a kinfe in his little ho-dunk town - against which to measure the results of his lunacy.)
