- A 26-year-old parolee has been charged with first-degree murder and criminal sexual assault in the strangulation death of a University of Illinois at Chicago student whose body was found in a campus parking lot over the weekend, university police said Monday evening.
Donald Thurman, who lived near the campus, is expected to appear in Cook County court Tuesday in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Ruth George.
Thurman was released from state prison late last year after completing a six-year sentence for a 2016 armed robbery, court records show. An arrest report alleged that Thurman snatched an iPhone from a woman’s hands before fleeing in a stolen car.

This victim was found on Saturday at 1130, and the UICPD Detectives, started working this case at that very moment. They worked endlessly, and without any witnesses, tracked him by video, located him, locked him up and obtained a video confession by Sunday night.

Donald Thurman didn’t snatch a phone and take off in a stolen car. Thurman and his cohort rammed into the victims’ vehicle and then held the male victim at gunpoint while the female victim was robbed of her phone. Both offenders then carjacked the victims’ vehicle and fled. Apparently Thurman is a dumb criminal since he was caught immediately after the carjacking and then again after raping and strangling Ruth George. He was charged with multiple class X felonies for the carjacking. He pled to Armed Robbery- No Firearm and all other charges were dropped. Ruth George’s mother should sue Kim Foxx for what happened to her beautiful young daughter. If Kim Foxx performed her job as a prosecutor this young woman would be alive. Instead she endured a brutal rape and strangulation. If Foxx has the balls to air her commercial again where she talks about being the victim of a sexual assault, where she blames Donald Trump and the FOP for Chicago’s violent crimes, she should go take a look in the mirror. Then she should get down on her knees and beg for forgiveness because Ruth George’s rape, murder and blood are on her hands.

This offender did an Armed Robbery of 2 people in 2016. The State pled it down from a Class X felony to a Robbery (with No Firearm). He got sentenced to 6 years and did 3 years. Let me guess, this murder was solved, and defendant charged by Kimm Foxx because of irrefutable evidence obviously located upon his person, that can't be explained-away in a irrational manner, maybe even an eye-witness or two to crime (at least camera evidence, per news articles), because that apparently is bare-minimum "evidence", sadly what it now takes to get an arrest and a conviction.

I am former CPD. I am now an attorney and am running for circuit court judge. Perhaps things will change once the voters are in the booth, but during my campaign I have been surprisingly pleased during my campaign as to the number of black voters I have met who are sick and tired of Kim Foxx. A man recently released from jail for allegedly attacking a police officer has been charged with killing another man on the Near West Side last week, according to Chicago police.
Ed Rush, 24, is facing first-degree murder charges in the shooting of Rayveon Hutchins, 20, last Friday. Hutchins had been walking in the 1200 block of South Throop Street when Rush shot him in the head, back and hip, police said.
Hutchins was taken to Stroger Hosptial, where he died hours later.
Authorities said Hutchins had been in a relationship with a woman Rush used to date. Rush was seen in video footage approaching Hutchins and shooting him, police said.
About 6:15 a.m. Monday, a Chicago police SWAT team and detectives from the police department’s Area Central detective division executed a search warrant at Rush’s home and confiscated a gun believed to have been used in the killing, police said.

Cook County Judge David Navarro set bail at $5,000 in the aggravated battery case. But Rush missed his next court date a week later. He showed up for the case in early October before Judge Edward Maloney’s courtroom, who released him on his own recognizance.
Rush had also been fighting a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, but that case was thrown out in October.
Due to his legal woes, he faced a violation to his two-year probation on his misdemeanor gun conviction. But when he showed up to court on that case on November 13, another judge released Rush on his own recognizance and placed him on electronic home monitoring.
Rush was scheduled to appear for a bond hearing on the murder charge Tuesday afternoon at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.

Every police officer should be pulling a Democratic ballot for the primary in March, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR POLITICAL AFFILIATION REALLY IS!! I personally think Kim Foxx is the worst State's Attorney I've seen in my life and I am no fan. I can't wait to cast my vote against her the moment the polls open.
But I'm not seeing how this can be pinned on her. This POS was lightly sentenced before she took office and it's the parole board who made the decision to let him out. I'm not trying to be smart, it's just that there's plenty to criticize her about without undermining the opposition's credibility.
Parole should be abolished.
As sad as this story is I blame liberals. Llberals want restorative justice, low bonds, and early release programs. UIC students are liberals on steroids, this violent death should show these liberals that there are super predators out there just like waana be president Hillary Clinton called them in th 90's.

Police officers and their families can be a huge voting block if they want to be, but we have to get organized! Every police officer should be pulling a Democratic ballot for the primary in March, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR POLITICAL AFFILIATION REALLY IS!! There needs to be an organized vote by all police officers for the same person on the ballot other Foxx. (It should be a viable opponent like Bill Conway. The FOP could really be helpful in this endeavour) Foxx will try to split the vote by placing several white candidates on the ballot. Just like they did for the mayoral race. Be smart when voting. Sounds like a long sentence (on paper) for just a phone theft. What else is in his past? You don't start raping at that age and you don't use a condom without concerms about DNA. I'd appreciate any information about his prior arrests, nolle prosecs, etc. for a database on the victims of so-called "criminal justice reform." It used to be a lot easier to do this research, but Chicago's accessibility to records is getting exponentially worse, not that I need to tell you guys that.

It is true you cannot get most coppers to agree on anything, but I think most coppers would agree, that we and our families need to vote in the next election to get Kim Foxx and Tony Preckwinkle out.
