Another $50 to the Chaplains

  • A high-ranking Chicago police official was relieved of his police powers on Tuesday as part of an investigation into allegations that he refused to stop when an Indiana State Police trooper tried to pull him over for speeding last year, officials said.

Edward Wodnicki, a former commander of the Area Central detective division, was reassigned to paid desk duty without the authority to make arrests or carry a gun during the course of his police duties following the June incident on Interstate 94 in northwest Indiana. The department said Wodnicki has also voluntarily stepped down as a commander, taking a demotion to his service rank of lieutenant.

The decision to take away Wodnicki’s police powers is the latest high-profile staffing move by interim police Superintendent Charlie Beck since he was put in charge temporarily in December by Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

The department said there were possible inconsistencies with statements Wodnicki made to police Internal Affairs investigators as they tried to learn why he was in Indiana when he sped back to Chicago in his city-issued vehicle.
We're certain he had the authorization papers to travel out-of-state with a city vehicle - ALL out of state trips require this waiver. At least, they did when we were lucky enough to have to take an unmarked squad car over a certain border. There wouldn't be two sets of rules for the connected, right?

Ed, sorry your gone, inevitable.

Now for today's news:

Sandoval plead guilty today.

Usually a first appearance after an information or an indictment is a not guilty, then you talk.

Sandoval & Arroyo are CORROBORATING EACH OTHER, cases that were not followed 10 years ago because of no CORROBORATION will be pursued.

Gonna be fun.

Oh Riccio, Oh Riccio! What have you done now.
So Eddy stepped down to his Lt rank huh!
Then why doesn’t he step the fuck off of the pension board.
Clearly there is a trust issue between Lt Eddy and CPD. Then perhaps Eddie would like to step the fuck off of the pension board. Today!
Sir Beck, where is LT Eddie currently assigned as a stripped LT. We certainly hope at call back like all the PO’s stripped.
We certainly don’t expect this stripped gold star to receive any preferential treatment, you know like Jesse Smollet did.
Our police accountability folks are always making sure when an officer is arrested and housed in a CPD facility, he does not receive any special treatment. Sure hate to see you , Sir Beck, to allow any special treatment of a sworn member based solely upon his rank or say connections to the Dep Sup office.
Some times I just enjoy reading the news in the morning And today is one of those days. Keep it up SCC. I Have a feeling this is going to get better

Good catch by this poster.
First off, when The Wod made Commander, he immediately brought his Are South crew with him.
The Wod was a loud mouth in south and so was his OT scamming whore Morad Haleem.
The Wod made them his Ace’s to manage any important cases. Just like the one mentioned by the previous poster about the DOA.
The Wod and his guy Morad Haleem did the interrogation of two officers from 001.
They think the stripes and exempt make them special. They are two little twerps who should have had their
ass kicked that night. The Lt from 001 was absolutely correct.
This is exactly what you get when you have multiple merit like The Wod and Morad.
Shockingly, this same duo Ed and Morad did the interrogation of the brothers in the Smollet case.
That is going to come back and be an issue.
The Wod saw the lights of the national media and tried to make it his case with his crack team of Social Media detectives and
his star Sergeants from South. Double Merit Morad and his counter part jumped when told.
The Social Team are not detectives. They were promoted, but most are trying to hide from the real work.
They are lead by an FBI agent who is an outcast in the Feds.
Now that the Wod is gone can his Aces go too.
One of them asks myself and other third watch detectives what we are doing in the office on days.
WORKING!!!!! Now go back in your office and hide.

It's a little more, nay a lot more than that when you get caught lying to an on duty police officer, and then try to cover it up with some wild story when your department questions you about it. The Wod instigated a Police chase in another jurisdiction while off duty in a company car. If that doesn't raise an eyebrow, and deserve further questioning, you should not apply to be a supervisor.

But wait, maybe he will have the chief of IAD personally deliver to his home his credentials even though he was the subject of an open CR investigation like Dean Andrews was. And the inspector general recommended that Andrews be fired! But because he was a clouted exempt the rules were changed for him!

1/29/2020 04:44:00 AM

Chief Konow ain’t doing shit for him. Her husband, an Lt. in 001 on 1st watch despises good ol Ed. Ask anyone from Area Four that was there when they were both there as Sgts. Fucking soap opera and drama on this job!

This stripping is politically motivated. Beck has caved in to the big shot politicians in this city. Wodnicki is pushing to get some people who are on bullshit disabilities off the rolls and back to work. A couple of these people are connected. Their clout just seized on this opportunity to get back at him and have been pressuring Beck to do something big. Having someone on the pension board who sees through the bs of these fake disabilities is very much needed. Not saying what he did was the smartest thing, but this is nothing more that politicians getting their pound of flesh and protecting their clouted babies.

Um you are wrong. You have to retire in good standing with your pending open CR number settled. He is stripped so obviously there is an open CR #.

It’s not traffic dummies. It is the lying and coverup that got him. Should be fired you joe have been if you pulled the same stuff. Think about that.

We need to regain some sense of credibility in this dept, getting rid of merit is a start, escamilla should be fired, wod was rightfully demoted, Ed should burn in hell for the damage he did to this dept. I hope he stays married to fenner forever. Every promotion under ed should be reversed. Sharon price should be working at McDonald's, the fact that she got the last merit promotion is still and always will be an abomination. Useless, stupid. Lazy, the next Barb West.

What scandal would that be ???? Cant be from the "Last Girl scout" family... She has never even parked illegally..... What a nut job..

So we can be stripped, demoted, for traffic?

SLIPPERY SLOPE they should have just put him in a shitty district like they normally do on midnight as commander of asshats.

1/29/2020 12:40:00 AM

Ummmm, he was in a City vehicle, speeding, going lights and siren and told them he was on official business.

Incorrect. He didn’t have lights or sirens going. Just doing 115 mph with a M-plate while on his phone.

"Just doing 115 mph with a M-plate while on his phone." Ad refusing to pull over. Fleeing/eluding used to be a shootable offense, and is still a crime- not "just traffic", as some fucktards have repeated. The stupid fucker is lucky he didn't get charged. More importantly, he makes the rest of us look bad. Troopers deserve more respect from us, don't they?

He is the first and only Exempt in history that they let voluntarily return to their Civil Service rank. That was so he could say he was not dumped on the next go around for a job search. Im glad they stripped him. He should have retired. Melissa and Barb West's doing. Dumb and Dumber. But Beck is taking their picks for the next round of exempts. What a waste.

Nice try. He's getting stripped because he committed a rule 14 and he was in charge of the Juicer Smellit caper. That's kind of a big, high profile case ya know? Doesn't look good when the shitbag celebrity being investigated for lieing has a main CPD boss that was in charge of the case rule 14'd now does it?

Incorrect. He had his blue lights going and police don’t use blue lights in that area, only red lights. The trooper asked his dispatcher if fire had an emergency in the area because THEY use blue lights.

The person who Wod visited lives in Michigan. This person is a male who is is a retired CPD chief as the sega goes. Also, this male's name was commented under this heading of Woz demotion. Could it be, maybe, a domestic issue gone bad, maybe. Crazy shit happens on the CPD. Gold stars skate the heat as usual.

Welcome to the a new decade.

Incorrect. The Indiana state police said he had his blue lights on. The local volunteer FD uses blue lights, so they checked to see if they were responding to anything before attempting to stop him. Then they saw his Illinois plate and he waved at the trooper that pulled next to him.

The rest of us were busted up from car accidents, or had bullet holes, or heart attacks, and we had to work. This asshole sat up there like a Prince. He ended up taking the plea deal. The kid was like 14yo.
