Weed by the Forklift-full

  • A months-long undercover investigation led to the arrest of a Homer Glen man accused of trafficking a large amount of marijuana.

Abdulaziz Abouelkheir, 34, was arrested Thursday in River North and charged with a felony count of cannabis trafficking over 5kg and a felony count of cannabis manufacture/delivery between 10 and 30 grams, Chicago police said.

Officers seized 64 pounds of cannabis and THC edibles, as well as a Land Rover and a forklift, police said.
Must not have had a tax stamp. JB the Hutt has to get his cut.

Hate to say you've been told.

New here in the soviet socialist democratic republic of kalifornicate, require the 750 or so legal pot shops to have some kinda window sticker that the customer can wave at with the cell phone in order to signal politburo approved, high taxed, dope; health safety guaranteed. The other 2200 openly operating illegal shops selling lower cost, non-taxed dope are evil.

So why not bust the illegal shops, you ask. Social justice and politburo wants to raise tax on tax payers to cover the deficit between anticipated pot tax windfall to actual collected and use that to enforce the dope laws.

2019 sales: total $11 billion; legal commissariat 2 billion, entrepreneur 9bn.

Have you been experiencing the inter-dispensary early morning break-in transfers yet? How bout shop hijacks?

It's been a humorous first year here. You have more fun to come: Guaranteed.

They fucked up. They had a solid OT gig going on and they pulled the plug making the arrest before they could milk it for everything. Rookie mistake- i blame the sgt. At a time when the unit is getting prodded and plucked why make this arrest. You ah e weekly emails explaining your “operation”, I bet the Sgt was feeling the heat and had to make something happen to avoid the axe. as a retired Sgt in OCD I wish you would have asked how to make this work for you and your guys. Now that the operation is over you set them up to go back to the needs of the department.

Woah! This is not, totally NOT, what you think!

When you get stoned off your ass, there is no more a fun time to be had then riding around on a forklift. Pure, innocent forklift riding fun that is all.

What was the forklift for? Was there a bigger operation somewhere nearby?

64lbs of dope (edibles) is an okay amount to run afoul of the law but you don't need a forklift to move that. Hell, most single dumbbells lifted in the gym are 60 to 75 lbs each (per arm) or heavier depending on the movement the guy is doing.

Wonder if there is some stoner candy factory under development to make some serious amounts of illicit edibles. Glad the vice tax is working out and making everything peaceful and lawful...

No big deal weed is now legal in Illinois. Just laying a good supply for all his new customers the state just created that object to the high tax rate in state stores. Just look at what happened to all the retail shops and malls once Amazon started selling the same goods for a lower price. The consumer WILL ALWAYS go where the price for goods are lower. Better hope Amazon never gets in the weed business.

Coming to Chicago: SCC, did you see the article in the paper about the weed shops in California that are springing up all over, but are illegal unlicensed shops. The reason - high taxes. The proposal is to place signs in the windows with bar codes so that the weed buyers can scan that and know they are buying from a legal weed shop with good quality product, unlike the roadside shit being sold in the illegal shops. How soon before that comes here?

Trafficking 64 lbs is a double Class X (6-60). Since it's Cook, though, we'd be lucky to get a Class 4 out of it.

The state/county/city will collect very few taxes on legalized cannabis. California and Colorado are now realizing they will fall far short of predicted tax revenue from legalized cannabis. The black market only gets bigger with legalization because once drugs are legalized there is no enforcement of any laws related to drugs, especially tax laws related to sales of legalized drugs.

Remember how dopers begged for legalization, promising they'd be only too happy to pay taxes on it if were only legal? Now that it's legal, what do they bitch about? Taxes. Because the real end game is to legalize drugs without any taxation. The cheering about tax windfalls is all bullshit, just like the “medicinal” argument – a con game to fool voters into legalization.

Wanna ensure tax compliance? Make possession of 64 lbs of untaxed cannabis a double X. Then enforce the law.

Future police will just be tax collectors and social workers anyway, so let's start there.

Wanna argue political philosophy to go full libertarian and have your legal weed untaxed? I can live with that because then I get something, to. When we get rid of all of those oppressive laws I'll be free to openly carry loaded sidearms everywhere and pay taxes on nothing. Can't wait.

“ The ability to tax is the ability to destroy.... or control.
Government, the true Original Gangsters. ”

That’s the truth. Because weed is illegal on the federal level, the legal marijuana businesses are paying roughly an 80% tax rate to the IRS. That said, the illegal market isn’t going away any time soon, especially when the local municipality, county and state tack on about 30% in taxes to the consumer. The backyard/basement entrepreneur doesn’t have those problems, so they sell their product for a lot less.

Local authorities pressin’them charges?

14 month investigation and raked in 64 lb of product. What happened in between? Where that shit come from, where dat’shit going. Dude wasn’t selling 20 grams or an ounce at a time. Is Cartel weed being laundered to these new startup shops or is there a community corner store operation selling singles, you know, in the weed deserts?

Cook County will shitcan this case on a promise to comply with supervision. The Landy will be returned so the refugee immigrant can get to and from school/work/volunteering at the Homer Glen (Will County) senior home. Can this case be followed on the Cook County Crime Dashboard?

Still, the offense is expungement worthy...for a price.
Wonder what his Affordable Bond was.
Looking at the evidence table, those bags of chocolate chip cookies seem sufficient as far as JB SnackWell is concerned.

Democratic greed and the insatiable appetite to tax and spend the citizens money is never ending. The legalized dope scheme introduced and hurriedly made into law typifies the worst of institutional greed. Decriminalization of weed will come back and bite Shitty Hall in the Ass. Democrats own this city and they're never giving it backed. You Serfs just live here and pay taxes at the expense of your family and their needs.

The weed tax may make a small uptick in Groot's budget but its her careless and free money give a ways to the South and West sides at your expense that eats up the budget. While this is not the only reckless spending she does, it does cut deep into her spending plans. And you have to make up for it. More taxes this year. You can't vote your way out of this mess. Every candidate is a Democratic Socialist. Rahm is a classic example of this and he ran out of town and was replaced by the Imp disguised as a Reformer.

You can't win but you can leave Chicago and the debtor State of Illinois. Fuck them with their debt. They own it, you don't.

Corner dope boys will be selling more than ever before, because of the taxed price on legal weed. If you are a cop making that wild guess and mean MORE arrests when you say "hit harder", I can't imagine why anyone would be making street reefer arrests now.
