That inmate murdered in Cook County Jail?
- Supposedly, this guy was celled with a rival gang member and had only been there for about three hours. County used to separate different gang members, but the powers that be said doing this was being biased so they don't do that anymore.
Word is, questions about gang affiliation was taken out of the county intake process about year ago. They don't ask about gang affiliation anymore! County no longer has a gang database! You gotta love watching the results of liberal politics.
Yeah, you'd think that keeping members of rival gangs (who have been trying to kill each other since time immemorial) separate from each other would be part of the Incarceration 101 series of lessons.
Someone else said that the dead guy's house had been shot up recently, so he obviously had some sort of target on his back, but that might not be something County would know at intake. They should however, know about different gangs.

Here’s the kicker- the offender in this incident who killed his cellmate was charged with an attempt-murder in the county about 2 months ago in which he attacked a rival gang member Who was severely beaten and stabbed multiple times in a gang related attack in the jail.
This offender is an absolute menace and has been involved in more shit on the street and in the jail than you could even possibly imagine.
I do believe he has been questioned in a few murders and shootings, but good old Cook County justice just doesn’t allow the people identified as problems to society to be held accountable. He’s a hyper-violent career/professional gang member.

Everytime gangbangers are arrested they should keep them in same cell, that's one way they'll cancel each other out.

Ex jail guard with CPD now. I was talking some of my instructors at the county academy recently. They said that it started with them being told that they had to call gangs “security threat groups” to the new recruits. Then about six month later they changed the wording to “organized groups”. Now they can’t even mention that. Officially, recruits going to work in one of the most dangerous jails in the county can’t learn about any of the gangs they’ll be dealing with, their signs, tattoos, or rivalries because it may hurt someone’s feelings.

I fully support the policy of putting rival gang members in the same cell. I think it should be required. Maybe even issue them knives for an hour per day. Dead gang members is a fantastic problem to have.

You wonder why that place is so messed up the inmates would often have gang attacks and the second officers arrived they jumped to the ground. There was numerous officers fired and or suspended as they struggled to cuff the offenders. Dart even posted the videos to the media and his rubber stamp merit board Kim Windup, Vince Winters, any other hacks would nail the officers for what appeared to be them simple struggling to cuff the attackers. Now the media wants to know why officers are slow to respond and Darts beloved inmates are placing beatdowns on other gang members on a regular basis. Duh!
So in reality the Death Penalty is still being used in Cook County.♠️
There was news segment a few weeks ago where Mark Brown wife Hanke said she wouldn't work for any other Sheriff but Dart. They were touting the program claiming they were first jail to end solitary confinement. They only had one problem was they chained problem inmates to tables for hours like dogs and they claimed they was more humane than solitary. The inmates interview said it was worse than solitary but just as long as the Sheriff got his little propaganda piece was all that mattered.
And to add from last post solitary at the CC jail use to be a lockdown of 23 hrs a day in a normal cell for a certain period of time, NOT like in Shawshank. But the know it all Sheriff thinks the table chain is better or at least he can gloat he ended solitary.
But it's a win-win-win. One asshole is dead, another - gets convicted for murder, and no one has to risk his life trying to catch him. Tom should do it more often.
So will CPD not count this as a murder in our “official” stats since it happened on county property?? Crime is down right?

A friend of mind was in county, being white u r so outnumbered, well back 2 the story, He got beat by several dogs and his shoe's were taken, when he went 2 court the nxt day the judge asked him what happen to his shoe's and he related someone needed them more then me so I gave them 2 him, the judge issued an I-bond for his trouble.

The other party to the cell mate beat down just added another 2 days to his stay, if constitutionally allowable.

I always heard that the most reliable gang database was the Department of Corrections. An inmate's life literally depended on a truthful answer.
Unfortunately, Dart has messed that jail up so much no viable candidate is willing to spend a million bucks on campaign for that job. Everything he does is like North Korea propaganda. Only the people unfortunate inside jail know what's going on. Fart even change the GO's that you can be fired for leaking to the media or saying anything negative about him or his managment style. He thinks he is Kim Jum Un but doesn't realize this is still America and officers can give info to the media if is a public safety risk.
