Some really bad heroin popping up on the west side, called Grey Death:

Didn't see this one anywhere yet. Two cops from 011 were exposed to some Grey Death heroin the other day, both ended up in the hospital for observation after falling ill. The crap was absorbed via skin contact and took effects kicked in after about twenty or thirty minutes. Both cops will be okay, but watch yourselves if you're working the dope game.
Glove up and be aware. This is about the only time we'd use Narcan - on a stricken cop.

Agreed about usage of Narcan. Only thing a junkie likes less than death is to lose his high, and will lash out accordingly. Can never forget the paramedic that revived an OD'd zombie, with needle still attached. POS came back to life and promptly stabbed his rescuer with said needle. Poor guy had to be continually tested for better part of a year before given a clean bill of health. Lucky man, though didn't do much for his marriage. No good deed goes unpunished with those 'people'.
Good that the officers will recover. Some deadly stuff out there.
Hopefully none of the shoplifters or domestic battery offenders I arrest on signed complaints are using that crud. Those are the only arrests I make in da hood.
Cops, other first responders, kids who had nothing to do with that poison should get Narcan...

Popping up throughout the country. It’s heroin, fentanyl and carfentanyl. Carfentanyl is far more potent than regular fentanyl. So mix all 3 together and it’s, likes it’s nickname, death.

U-47700 (aka Grey Death, named so for its appearance),
was an experimental compound developed by Upjohn in
the 1970s that had about 7.5 times the potency of morphine
in animals. It was never brought to marked because of its
extreme potency. Unfortunately, in the days of the internet,
underground chemists can go online, obtain the chemical
structure from old company documents and reverse
engineer the drug. The Grey Death story is about 3 years
old: it pops in various parts of the country, people used to
be able to buy it online from Chinese chemists, ect. It was
frequently sent thru the U.S. Mail. Many deaths associated
with this compound in the U.S., usually young people under
the age of 25.
Stuff is so strong, medics go thru multiple Narcan's.
Sometimes the victim has to be hospitalized and put
on a Narcan drip. With all the information out there,
the junkies usually know what they're playing with.
Grey death...reminds me of the movie “Ted” and the weed names.....

This week slowed down, but the past weeks were brutal.
In the long run its better for everyone involved, the family of the junkie will finally know and get some closure, the junkie will finally stop living in piss and just go to sleep. Do Heroin and you will die unless your rich. Sad but true.
Thank you for posting this information, since I have not seen it anywhere, and I work for a private fire investigation company, it gives me more reason to always use PPE equipment.

Horrible story. My prayers are with the cops. But our ahole dummycrats want to allow safe zones for the junkies to be able to shoot up causing more chaos. Dope game... nah. They can have it. Why would i expose myself willingly and loose overtime, side jobs, days off with family for felony court. Life and family is worth more than 3hrs of dismissals.
Not only do you get infected, you could wind up in a foul hospital with the other sickly, maimed, street folk and their hostile waiting entourages. That’s enough to scare anyone straight and into avoidance or interference with lawless community affairs.

Something just occered to me. .... if marijuana dispensaries have to deal in cash only and can't utilize banks because of federal laws, how do they pay the sales taxes to the city and state? Do they drop a bag of cash off at city hall once a month? Does somebody come by and pick up the tax cash? Can the city and state deposit the money in a bank? If somebody knows the answer I'd love to hear it.

Thanks for the memory and the laugh...
I would like to thank the senior officer and the officers on midnights who recognized the symptoms and rushed the them to the hospital. Your quick reaction and decision making does not go unnoticed.
The sooner the better we thin the herd. Not smart to be selling then something you know will kill them very bad for repeat business.
Not your problem if they want to kill them selves. Look laugh and leave.
Due society a favor and let them put themselves out of misery. Not your worry.
Use ppe when handling any suspected controlled substances.
