Draw!

Those "No Gun" signs on the CTA are working wonders...along with the few hundred officers assigned to the trains and tunnnels:
  • Two men fired guns at each other on a CTA Red Line train at 79th Street Tuesday afternoon.

At 3:49 p.m., two men got into a quarrel on the Chicago Transit Authority train, ad each took out guns and fired them at each other, police said.

The train stopped, and both men ran off, police said.

    No injuries were reported.
Good thing the CTA is operating at something like 25% of normal capacity.

Those should be posted on every city block on the south and west side of Chicago.

As long as they stayed 6 feet away from each other and the argument was "just", I have no problem with this. How else would you have "the denizens of the ghetto" settle their disputes, intense discourse? Who has time for all of that?

Concerned Citizen here

Maybe they should check the Illinois State Police gun registry and the 4473s' they filled out when they bought their guns.

The crime has been going on the CTA even when I started as an operating employee over fifty years ago especially on the west and south sides and the main line (now the red line). The CTA always downplayed what you reported. The passengers who were straight were scared shitless when the thugs did their thing and just accepted it and never reported it. And consider what was going on without cell phones, smart phones with cameras and now CTA cameras. Some of us carried and it saved our hides but if the company found out you would be fired. Haven't been back on the CTA in over than 25 years. I stay out of the city but a few times I had to go downtown and gladly paid close to forty bucks to park because you never know what might happen to you riding CTA. I can still smell the aroma of urine and creosote (the wood preservative used on the platforms, stairs & ties!

Those 'no gun' signs depict semiautomatic pistols. You can, of course, have wheel guns or long barrel rifles and use those all you like. Learn to read pictures!

How can you miss someone who is in a metal box about 10 yards from you or closer? Thank heaven some Chicago bad guys are talentless shooters.

The official State Police "no-gun" sticker is a silhouette of a Beretta M9. So, I keep that one at home and carry something else in the no gun zones. Also, I find it ammusing when they have a no smoking sticker right above the no gun sticker. I assume that means no smoking guns allowed. :-)

Two men with guns on the Red Line?

I wouldn't think about getting on ANY CTA train without one.

Hmmm... 12 people shot over night and at all hours. SUV's all running around doin drive bys an shit like dat and only one citation and arrest at 011. Shooting a folks at 2 AM hanging on the corner in clusters or shooting out of a SUV is not practicing social distancing. Cite them all. I mean that's what the Mayor wants right - compliance and social distancing. She's gonna be mad that no one was cited. Keep up the good work Beck and make us all Chicago Proud.

The state required "No Firearms" pictogram requires the use of a Beretta 92FS on the sign. Who would carry a 92 concealed. Glocks rule!

Thanking God Almighty that there were EN-OH Policemen around
to get sucked into this nonsense where two "communerty membaz"
were engaged in "self expression."

Said Policemen would be put in prison if they dared tried
intervening/interfering in the pistol play that entails
"communerty bidness."

Protect yourselves from THEM.

Give them NOTHING to hurt YOU
or your family members with.

Look.
Point & Laugh.
Leave.

The theory of confrontation is that they’ll never have a shoot out on a train again if the intended target intends to shoot back.

Back in “88 I once shot an elephant on the CTA going to traffic court. Why it was going to traffic court I’ll never know. Kept the trains clear of bench seat pachyderm spread ever since.
Your welcome.

Should only be two or three CTA routes into downtown in the morning and evening, 6 to 9 Am and 5to 9PM. This from all compass points. Riders should be essential workers only. CPD at every stop to insure essential workers only. Probl3m solved. If your going to violate rights violate rights.
