We still aren't understanding this trend at all:
- We, the law abiding, have to stay inside under threats of fines and jail, all to protect us from the corona-virus;
- Those awaiting trials for criminal offenses have to be released from jails, all to protect them from the corona-virus;
- After nearly four decades in prison for his role as the lookout in two gas station robberies, Basil Powell was given a second chance at life Thursday. Gov. J.B. Pritzker commuted the former Chicago man’s natural life sentence earlier this week amid mounting pressure from prison reform advocates urging the release of elderly or ill inmates during the coronavirus pandemic.

His office did not provide information on the commutations Thursday. But Pritzker has commuted the sentences of 17 Illinois prisoners since March 11, including seven convicted of murder. Until this power is revoked by the legislature, a governor is allowed to pardon murderers if he/she so chooses. However, there really ought to be a political price paid for this, like making One-Man-Mass-Gathering announce the pardons/commutations/clemency from the dais at the Legislature in Springfield. During the State of the State address would be a good time for it.

Murderers deserve to be executed. Temporary detention and “rehabilitation” is not justice. If the government does not provide justice, we shouldn’t be surprised when citizens take justice into their own hands.

Speaking of murders, at the time of this post, per heyjackass, the week of 4/5-4/11 has 24 murders, with 1 whole day remaining. Incredible. 24 homicides (at least) in 1 week. 29 so far for the month, blistering pace that doesn’t seem to be slowing up especially with practically everyone, including teams and units, stopping almost all work, except for a few douches who don’t get it. They’ve learned no one will stop them during this virus. Be safe boys and girls, led is flying!!
Yes it would be great idea that the Governor would have to announce the release of these murderers, or any other violent crime offenders, and the families and friends of the victim’s should be be able to speak. Can you imagine how they feel thinking they got some justice for their loved one but this oaf victimizes them again. If they committed murder they should die in jail, their victim’s weren't given any choices. But it is more than worrying about prisoners in jail becoming sick during this crisis. The intent by the Democrats is to add to this crisis by springing all these prisoners that will create more problems in the country in hopes that it causes more trouble for Trump just in time for the election. Just like they want open borders, mail in voting and voter harvesting. And what do rats do when they are backed into a corner? They will do anything and everything they can.

Lastly we have a property tax evading FA Governor who never met a meal he didn’t like who has raised every tax, added tax, made up the State deeper in debt even before Corona and now releasing murders on the public!

Releasing criminals has always been a tactic the Left has used to create chaos historically. They did it during the Bolshevik revolution, during the communist takeover of regions of Germany between world wars ,after the Left was elected in Spain prior to the civil war. Also the French Revolution where the French revolted against all logic and decency. Nothing new.

If you mean that we insist that the law be applied consistently across sentencing for all crimes - without carve-outs for the aggrieved and/or politically expedient class - then we guess all we can say is "Thank you."
But since we know you didn't mean it that way, AND since you're obviously ignorant as to which law each of the offenders were convicted under, AND you're mentally incapable of even doing the most basic research to support you lib-tarded position, you can wear the title of Asshat proudly.
When those with a (statistical) high risk of re- offending are released to the streets, CPD should have something like the Special Investigations Section (SIS), in the Robbery/ Homocide Division of LAPD. Keep them under persistent and continuous discreet surveillance, all the while waiting for them to commit a crime, and then catch them in the act. The Communerty would be in an uproar. Many aspiring rappers in the midst of turning their lives around—- all ruined by CPD. So it will never happen, but a Man can dream!
