If you aren't paying attention, everything Groot and her mouthpieces say about "caring" for the First Responder community is a straight-up lie:
- A few days after a 16-year-old alleged armed robbery and gun offender arrived at Cook County’s Juvenile Temporary Detention Center last week, the teen began feeling sick. He tested positive for COVID-19 the next day. And the next afternoon, Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans publicly announced the boy’s illness.
But authorities never informed any of the Chicago cops who came into contact with the teen about his COVID-19 infection because lawyers were concerned about the boy’s medical privacy rights, according to two city sources with knowledge of the situation. More than 20 police officers reportedly had varying degrees of contact with the juvenile before he was handed over to the detention center.
The alleged failure to provide timely notification of potential exposure to officers is the latest in a string of embarrassing reports about the police department’s handling of the COVID-19 outbreak:
** CPD has given officers potentially ineffective hand sanitizer that is at least 8-years old.
** Its officers were allowed to continue working within feet of an infected detective’s desk while a cleaning crew donned head-to-toe protective equipment to sanitize the cop’s work station.
** Police recruits have been assigned to disinfect patrol cars without gloves, goggles, or protective clothing
Now, the department is accused of intentionally failing to inform officers of potential coronavirus exposure due to a mistaken interpretation of privacy laws that specifically do not apply to law enforcement agencies and which explicitly allow for the release of information to control disease outbreaks.
Obviously, bottom-of-the-barrel law school "graduates" working for Legal Affairs really screwed the pooch on this one. If anyone got sick, the Department needs to be sued and these "lawyers" need to be fired.

What needed to be done forthwith was to notify every officer that they have been exposed to the Coronavirus so they don’t expose their families and others. The outcome is grave. Someone could end up intubated on a ventilator drowning to death with their lungs filling up with fluid. The authorities who came up with this injudicious decision should be publicly identified, fired and sued. I challenge the news media and our local government officials to investigate this matter.

From the article, the court said they notified the police, no source identified. The same court staffer says that CPD lawyers advised against telling the officers. Why would a lawyer from CPD tell a court staff member what CPD's legal determination was? Is it more likely that CPD was never notified and the Evans' office is playing "cover your ass"?

If CCSO can physically search a Prisoner and inventory all of the Prisoner’s personal effects, and this Inventory can be used as Evidence, so, too, can a “ Medical Inventory” ( I.e., a Medical Screening) be used for Protective purposes. By Protective Purposes, I mean protection of the health and welfare of not only the Prisoner, but all other Prisoners, CCSO, etc

They can’t send those new Detectives to the Area’s for any substantive work, as they have not received the State mandated training for the required Juvenile and Lead Homicide Investigator training. Any actions they take would surely be scrutinized by defense attorneys.

While watching that press conference at McCormick Place, I thought it rather irresponsible for the Mayor et al, to have walked such a large group of potentially infected people through a site which may have to accommodate COVID-19 victims and health care providers. I guess the democratic dog and pony show is more important than the health and welfare of the citizens.

It sounds like they don’t want to document the exposure report because it would end up being evidence of liability for the City of Chicago. Don’t let that deter you. Demand proper reports be made on your behalf and if necessary contact FOP. That is what you pay your dues for.

I'm pretty sure this is actually coming from IDPH. They sent out a memo to local health organizations to not disclose to law enforcement if they came in contact with a person who later tested positive for COVID on April 2nd. They claim the reason is to prevent a false sense of security for law enforcement because there will almost definitely be contact with asymptomatic but communicable persons. IDPH's official recommendation now to LE is to treat everyone as if they have it and are communicable.
There are currently 2 lawsuits filed in McHenry county about it, one from the Sheriff's Office and another from a few suburban agencies. We'll have to wait and see the outcome on them.

Interesting at todays Pandemic Briefing Locally that the Governor has put the Mayor of Chicago back on his track of keeping the entire State shut down for the Summer.The Mayor backed down today stating that she could not see any Summer Festivals or gatherings if there is not a Vaccine,which is at least 4 months away.Looks more like October 1st before the Martial Law/Stay at Home Order is modified to a true Social Distancing.This State will never recover in our life time.If possible look to relocate to a very Rural Area of the Country because larger Cities are about to become extinct.
According to Gov. Fat Ass all first responders have PPE and if they don't they should contact their supervisors. There feel better now.

Time to Cancel the Pride Parade Lightfoot Afraid to Do So
The Pride Parade is the ticking time bomb coming.
A political storm if she cancels it. The gays will be crying and yelling about how they are suffering and being oppressed. How they need the parade for community strength.
But how does one allow an event that will draw thousands, possibly tens of thousands to close proximity when the general public isn't allowed to get together with 4 people and play a round of golf? Or jog along the paths on 20 miles of shoreline? Or shoot baskets at an otherwise deserted park?
Because no politician can admit that this is overblown. And they are painted into a corner and have no quick way out.
Unless Gov. Flounder issues the all clear. And a sudden total all clear would make it all seem more bullshit.

Mayor visits callback questions PO about the supplies to protect themselves. Honest PO tells Mayor we ain’t got $hit. Mayor calls Supt. who calls 1st deputy, calls chief, calls deputy chief who calls captain demanding PO is written up. WTF!!

It’s been canceled, just not publicly. If it returns in 2021, it won’t be in Boystown, but in the Loop like all major parades.
